Contract?

“Good morning,”

Right when he is greeted by a morning wish in front of his face, by your one and only, Baek Hyun, he immediately falls from the comfortable bed. This is not right– no.

Definitely weird.

Didn’t he fall asleep in his mother’s workplace, ‘the sauna’??

While he was showing his confused face, Baek Hyun let out a slow chuckle and lifted the child from the floor. Alright, thanks to god Jaehyun is too young to be accused of having an affair with Baek Hyun.

Still, how can he be in Baek Hyun’s bed?!

He is supposed to be waking up to his mother’s voice or at least, his mother’s face!

“Child! I understand why a child like you is confused but I need to tell you some progress between me and your mom!”

“Not now, Baek. I need to think.”

Ignoring the fact the child didn’t use honorifics to talk with him, Baek Hyun just pokes his cheeks, trying to make the child lend his ears to him because he’s too excited to even waited few more minutes to tell the news.

“Just listen!”

“What is it?!”

“Your mom agreed to marry me!”

Can you imagine how Jaehyun felt after listening to those six words? One, he’s terrified at the fact that his friend managed to seduce his mother in one night, exactly when he was asleep!

Also, did Baek Hyun blackmail his mother?! How can she agree and is his best friend crazy?! He falls in love with the woman at first sight?! How is he so sure they can get married and last long until the end?!

Jaehyun regrets giving his friend a blessing!

He’s too angry to even touch the breakfast Baek Hyun had requested from his maid for the child.

“Are you mad, little guy?”

“Your image? Would it put my mother in danger? And…

Are you sure this will make you happy…forever?”

Baek Hyun grinned from all the questions asked by the child. Since day one, the child has never failed to amaze him. He acts more mature than children his age. He always looks out for his mother and usually, children would be confused in this kind of situations to even ask any question.

“I can say as long as I am here, no one can hurt your mother.

And you.”

Right when Jaehyun heard those, he felt his heart breaking into pieces. It reminds him of the fact he wasn’t able to do anything and he was never there to protect Baek Hyun. It’s always his best friend, taking care of him.

“Also, after losing a person dear to me…I think, I want to do everything that can make me happy. Getting married to someone whom I fell in love with at first sight is probably the best thing that could make me happy right now.”

Jaehyun had decided.

If his friends choose this path to look for new happiness, he will support him till the end. If it ends up with Baek Hyun losing feelings for his mother after they got married, it's his job to reunite them.

Those two are destined to be together.

No matter what people say.

Actually, it's not what Jaehyun thought but he would say his motives now are to make his best friend and mother end up together until he became adult at least.

When he saw the child become a bit relaxed, he put the breakfast on the study table and they sat down on a chair that faced the garden outside.

“I'll explain how I got your mom to agree with marrying me. You don't have to worry, so start eating.”

“Did you use something against my mom or something?”

“No. I am not that cruel. Well, maybe I am a bit cruel. I told her if she can marry me for 5 years at least and I will provide her money to raise you. I use you for this but I didn't force it onto her.”

Jaehyun knew his best friend wouldn't force a woman to do anything. He's too ‘gentleman’ for that kind of thing. Still, this is probably not the end of the story. His mother wouldn't accept it just like that.

Jaehyun saw how his friend held his heart dearly. It was meant to be. They’re surely a match god created but probably god is done waiting for fate to help them meet each other and decide to make a coincidence meeting and make Baek Hyun fall for Jaehyun’s mother right on the spot.

What a weird way to find your love life.

It'd be fun if Jaehyun could experience love as well.

“She said she needed the money so badly but she won't take advantage of my love for her so I told her to think of it as contracted marriage. I propose an idea…

If she falls for me in our contracted marriage time, we won't divorce after 5 years but if she doesn't, her services will end, of course and at least she didn't waste her time since she got pay. Yeah–”

Ah. So Jaehyun’s mother can't reject it if it was offered like a work contract. She did her job to act like a wife and got money. Good enough.

“I hope you can do your best in these 5 years. I am just saying this because…You deserve a break from bad things,” Jaehyun said, pitying his friend for always helping him but never getting anything in return.

Baek Hyun smiles and remembers he mentioned he lost someone. He thought those are the reasons the child pity him. Still, he just hopes that, even though the child is smart, he won't question it like normal children.

Right when he proposed the idea to Jaehyun’s mother, Jinhye, he immediately announced his engagement with her to his maids and butlers in the house. After that, he has to deal with his parents who are already planning for it.

This whole contract marriage was his mother's idea so- of course it's not a news for them. Just that…
