Chapter 50_ Senior Eira saved the day!

After getting vaccinated, we left the dormitory with All black. He informed the medical staff to go on with their work while he led us to the school's main building.

The school unlike itself was silent and uncrowded. Taking a look at it, one would think the students were being obedient and had sat in their rooms waiting for instructions but I knew there must be others like us. Hiding and lurking around like bandits.

"Where is he taking us?" I whispered to senior Eira and Mackenzie.

"Maybe to his blank room" Mackenzie whispered back.

Senior Eira shook her head in disagreement "Teacher Zane never takes a person to the blank room without proper investigation and confirming they were guilty. In our situation, he isn't sure yet. He is just suspecting " she explained without whispering. What is wrong with this senior Eira?! Whisper for the lord's sake. The man was right in front of us!

" Shhh, what is he hears you?" I admonished but got no reply from her.We got to the main building where the dean's office was located and wondered if he was taking us to go see the dean.

"Is his blank room in the main building?" I asked senior Eira. She only shook her head to tell me it wasn't.

"Stop acting suspicious, he will think we were indeed guilty," Mackenzie said to me.

"Oh shut up, you're as clueless as I am stop acting otherwise" I pouted. I saw Mackenzie roll her eyes in annoyance or maybe frustration. We all had our gazes fixed on all black as he led us on.

Finally, we stopped in front of the dean's office and all black turned to us for the first time since he has been leading us to an undisclosed destination.

"Wait here" he said to us and knocked on the dean's office. He went in immediately after the dean's voice ordered him in.

"I knew he was bringing us to the dean" senior Eira said immediately all black was out of earshot.

Oh no, the dean!

I shrieked in fright "Isn't that even worse? The dean? "I turned to Mackenzie. "Remember we were in his office not up to 2 weeks ago and we're yet to complete the punishment he gave us! Now, this?" I started blabbing.

I don't know why it felt like I was disappointing a father by having the dean hear complaints about me again. The first time I stepped into the school, I had an encounter with him at the assembly where he addressed us. Then the issue with Ajax which fetched us a week punishment now all black again. This was all thanks to senior Eira, maybe l should have listened to Mia and stayed back. Senior Eira walked closer to the door and fixed the side of her face on straining her ears, trying hard to listen to the Conversation going on inside. I and Mackenzie rushed to her to do the same thing.

"I can't just use my powers on them like that Zane, it's wrong. They are students whom you're not even sure if they were truly guilty or not" I heard the dean's voice reproach all black.

Oh, I knew it! The dean was entirely different from the whole teaching staff. He is a good soul. It is him I will trust and inquire about the second annoying jerk and Wyllow from, I became certain and immediately knew the instincts that told me to trust the dean was not wrong.

Speaking of second annoying jerk, I haven't heard from him since I woke up. Does that mean he is gone? Finally?! Damn, maybe today was a good day and that was the reason why I slept so soundly and didn't even wake up when the girls hit my head on the floor.

Even my headache was gone and second annoying jerk was gone too. Every little butterfly in my stomach danced regardless of the ugly situation.

Teacher Zane spoke again "Dean Androcles you're misquoting me. I never said to use powers on them but just scare them a little until they give up and start talking"

"And you're not capable of scaring them on your own Zane?" Was the dean's sarcastic reply.

Oh, Dean Androcles was my best yet! Giving all black the answers he deserved.

"But you made the laws, not to use force on any students unless they are found guilty" Teacher Zane almost barked at the Dean.

I could picture the dean's expression, looking up and caressing his beard perhaps? " Then you find evidence to guarantee they're guilty and impose the necessary punishment" he said.

I was sensing ego in All black's words. He perhaps felt stupid we ran away like that and he wasn't able to catch us in the kitchen that was definitely why he was being paranoid. It was a blow to his reputation as the fiercest teacher in the school. I know he won't stop until he finds us and punish us.

"Can you just try for me, sir? Just come on out dean Androcles" he muttered, the exasperation he was trying to suppress, exposed by his voice. He sounded as if he was ready to land a slap on the dean if he doesn't grant his request.

I heard a low groan from the dean. Even the dean was getting impatient " Ok, fine" we heard a clanking sound which showed he slammed a pen or something similar to a pen on his table. " Do lead me to the young ladies Zane" was his final response and we quickly ran to sit back on the chair that usually sat outside the dean's office.

The first time we came here, it never crossed our minds to peep or sneak on the dean like that. Senior Eira was teaching us lots of stuff that I found myself questioning if she was a good company or a bad one.

But whenever I remember teacher Lazlo's words about the school being for only the fittest. The fittest would survive while the timid and naive ones would perish with the occurrences in the school, I believe just maybe she was the Enlightenment we needed.

The door sprang opened and all black emerged followed by the dean. The dean was still his usual neat self with his long hair packed in a lower bun and his beards well combed as their greyness added to the dominance of his appearance. He was wearing a red and blue outfit this time, he had a black band collar shirt on with a blue long jacket over it. His pants were also black and one look at the fabrics tells they were made with the finest of silk. Somebody tell this dean he was getting old. Perhaps tell him to leave the catchy dresses for the younger ones too. His eyes glinted with recognition when he saw us "Miss Clarke?" he called me and I bowed my head to show respect and also in shame.

"Dean Androcles" was all I could say" He turned away from me and faced senior Eira " Eira, fifth year top student and Miss Clarke's friend" he acknowledged Mackenzie.

"Hello sir" they both chorused except they didn't have their heads held down like I was.

I was basically sulking.

He turned to all black afterward, " Tell me what has miss Clarke done again?"

All black returned his hands to his pockets and coughed a little. I felt like slitting his throat, he was going to tell the dean I have

broken the rules again. Or maybe the earth could swallow me now, bye bye dear world.

I'd rather be swallowed up by the earth than disappoint the dean again. "First, they ran from getting tested or maybe not because according to them, they were stranded as they were unable to travel through the portal but the main issue is that, they stole from the kitchen and I'm sure it was them" he finished.

Arggh.. I hate this teacher Zane

"We did not sir" senior Eira said calmly.

Oh, her guts. I was basically shaking.

" Really?" the dean had an amused smile as he asked her the question. I was sure he was enjoying the scenario.

"Yes, we did not. Teacher Zane is unsure if we were the ones he saw in the kitchen. According to what he told us, he was searching for three female students who stole from the kitchen and he was unable to catch" she paused a little. Dear lord, why did she add that he was unable to catch us?

To rub salt on his injuries?! I sealed my lips to suppress myself from laughing out loud. Senior Eira continued her speech, talking as if we were not guilty as charged." Then when teacher Zane followed the medical staff to the hostel where we took refuge to be able to get vaccinated, he saw three female students who hadn't been in the hostel and hadn't been under curfew. That fits the missing piece of his suspicion and he concluded we were the ones without making sure" she paused and threw a stern look at teacher Zane, " Which I am not sure is proper not to mention he followed medical staff who were supposed to give vaccination dosages without proper protection. he came to the hostel with only a face mask on" she finalized.

oh, her guts! her guts...damn! was that what being a fifth year top student means? having guts to stand on your ten toes and defend yourself out of any situation even if you're guilty or not.

She was even trying to incriminate teacher Zane by pointing out his slips. I was sure teacher zane's comeback would be horrendous but now, it was our time to shine. I knew teacher hunter was good, although he was obsessed with having me answer his questions. this was the verbal defense he taught us and he did teach senior eira well. now, it was left to the dean. me? i was too stunned and impressed to talk. My admiration for the senior grew, she was an innocent bad bitch.
