"Besides, it's just a kiss," Jael said, his eyes watching her every move as she stood between his legs. One of his hands was on her waist while the other rested on her arm.

He was right but it didn't make it easier. Suddenly, she remembered that she had something to ask him. She needed to be in his good graces.

Besides, he was her husband, she should be able to do something like this without feeling embarrassed. She closed her eyes and leaned forward.

She heard his sharp intake of breath as he leaned forward and kissed her. She tried to hold out as best as she could but the fact that Mill was in the corner of the room made it so much harder.

She pulled away in seconds.

"Mauve," Jael said. He didn't hide the disappointment in his voice. "You could hardly call that a kiss."

"Well, it is." She said stubbornly, bending her head slightly. Of course, there was no way she would look him in the eye now.
