764. Too Soon

The rest of the night was pretty quiet, and even though Jael was clearly opposed to the idea of her facing Palers again, he didn't do anything to stop it. Mauve wasn't going to bet that this would continue, but for now, she would enjoy the fact that Jael gave his approval.

Mauve tried to get a read on his expression as they made their way to the dining room for the first meal, but Jael still kept his lips sealed and his expression unreadable. He didn't seem angry, but it was hard to tell with her mate.

The dining hall was packed. All the injured were completely healed now, and they joined them in the dining hall. Mauve couldn't help her relief at this. Vampires were really working hard to make sure they didn't have Paler problems anymore.
