"Kieran has arrived," Jael said to Mauve as soon as he walked into her room.
"That was fast," she said and walked towards him. "I suppose I should go welcome him."
"Is it not a good time for you?" he asked.
"It is, I was just surprised he got here so fast," she replied. "Wasn't it just last night you sent him a letter?" Besides, even if it wasn't, this was Kieran Jael was talking about; she would have made time.
"It was," Jael responded.
"Wow," Mauve said as she gave Jael her hand. "He must have left as soon as he got the letter."
Jael nodded and helped her out of bed. "Yes. I didn't want to bother you, but he says he needs to speak to you," Jael reluctantly admitted.
Mauve froze, and Jael gripped her to prevent her from falling on her face.
"Don't just stop mid-way," he scolded.
Mauve ignored his outburst. "Why does he want to see me?"
"You know why," Jael started and slowly led her out of the room.
