A Cannibal

The young lass who ran as far as her leg could carry her found herself in her room fortunately and locked it using the bolt. Her maids saw her running along the hallway and called unto her severally but she didn't give them a listening ear.

The horrific thought of what she had just seen continued to play in her head. It was something that she could never forget.

Meanwhile, the Prophetess already knew what had happened. She wanted to erase Ariel's memory of what she had just seen; her husband acting like a cannibal. Instead of erasing her memories for the betterment of their loveless relationship. She went on to console the poor lass who was greatly drowned in fear.

"Ariel!" She called.

The way the Prophetess was appearing to her lately was unlike before when she gave signs of her coming. Ariel was too scared to turn to face her. Her hands were shaky and wet from sweat. Her heartbeat was accelerating.

Seeing Ariel like this made the Prophetess sit close to Ariel and console her.

It's better not to erase her memory, although it would do a lot of good some memories aren't that bad to forget. "Ariel, about what you have just seen."

Ariel then turned to face the woman. She didn't know what to say. Although she wanted to say something nothing came out of her mouth.

"I understand what you're going through right now!" Amira said out of pity. She pitied the poor lass.

Although, Ariel was not supposed to be seen in the courtroom because a lot of atrocities do happen there. Now that she was able to witness one of the atrocities, she was rather fortunate to know the kind of person she got married to.

"Is he a cannibal?" Ariel asked due to the scene she had witnessed.

Cannibal!

He was worst than that.

To not blow King Vladimir's cover, Amira played along. Ariel wasn't supposed to know the kind of person her husband was until he reveals himself to her.

"A cannibal? Are you for real, Princess Ariel?"

"Of course! I saw him eating human flesh, more like eating the human's heart." Ariel said still remembering what she saw.

Amira couldn't help but laugh.

A human flesh.

Did anyone tell Ariel that the people of Vallat were humans?

"Princess Ariel, it might be your illusion. Your husband is not a cannibal." Amira assured.

Ariel isn't that stupid to believe what she's hearing. What she had seen is strong proof to confirm that her husband is a cannibal.

"It's not an illusion, Amira." Ariel retorted.

Amira was shocked. Her name was mentioned by this woman, the woman she chose to redeem the deadly King of Vallat. She had just pronounced her name. Amira was speechless.

"You just called me by my name!"

Did she commit an offense by calling the Prophetess by her name? Ariel asked inwardly.

"You didn't commit a crime. It's just that... just that... No worries, I'll be on my way back." Amira stood up to leave and vanished into thin air.

Ariel was confused by the woman's sudden action. Had she wronged her in any way? That didn't matter to Ariel now, all she wanted was fresh air. She needed to breathe.

The horrific scene couldn't get off her mind. How his mouth was stained with blood, and how he ate the man's heart were all too real to be just an illusion.

The Prophetess on the other hand was been scolded by the guilty man who had almost scared his wife to death.

"Why would you go to visit her at this moment? Do you want her to get a hint of what we are?" The man asked worriedly.

It won't be nice if his wife knows the kind of person he was. She needed time and he also needed the same. It was a gradual process and they had a long way to go.

"You should have thought about that before appearing as a cannibal right before her eyes." Amira retorted.

The man was tongue-tied, it wasn't his fault that his wife saw him like that. King Vladimir sat with his leg crossed.

"I think I should stop going to visit her," Amira suggested and he bought her idea immediately.

"I think you should too." He nodded.

This man was beginning to annoy her much to her dissatisfaction. If she continued to visit the woman in question, it will blow out their cover and to be precise, Ariel already knows about Amira's personality but not a deep fact about her.

"I should have erased her memory when I had the chance." Amira shook her head disappointedly. She was disappointed in herself for pitying the young lasslass she didn't deserve to be pitied at all.

Amira was also cold-hearted but she was only like that when necessary.

King Vladimir looked at her with an ugly expression sitting on his face. He was wondering how he would face his wife after what she had seen about him. He knew why she'd think of him but that doesn't matter. With time, the memories of she had seen would fade away.

"I have a plan." His lips curved up to a smirk.

Amira hissed at his statement of having a plan. Who knows if it'll be a beneficial plan or not? The man was not that good at making plans.

"I won't entertain useless plans," Amira said with a demanding tone.

Vladimir wanted to fire back at her words but that'll only show how childish he was when he wasn't. Amira lived to annoy him but there was someone who hated her for being so annoying.

"My plan won't be beneficial to you but to me." He retorted, glaring at her.

Amira chuckled. "You know you can get punished right away for being so full of yourself?"

Punished! That was a sign of danger.

"I laugh at the face of danger." He smirked, telling her his plan.

He planned to appeal to Ariel the other way around without her knowing that he was the one. How was he going to do that?
