Missing King

The people of Vallat were running helter-skelter. They rang the giant bell to notify the other villagers of the news that was going all around.

A young girl ran to her father who was a fisherman to notify him of the news knowing that her father hasn't heard about it.

"Father, haven't you heard, the King is missing."

The man instantly shushed his daughter, she was going to put him in trouble for a false alarm.

"Shut up child, do you want us to get punished?"

The girl shook her head reluctantly. What she was saying was the raw truth and her father didn't buy her word.

"It's true pa, they've rung the notification bell."

The man heard what his young daughter said. He gasps in disbelief.

He sold his fish to the marketers, passing on the information, from the marketers to the consumers, with that same information. The consumers were the rival Kingdom of Vallat.

"It's the perfect time to attack."

Meanwhile, other villagers were pushing the blame on Princess Ariel. They barely even know her.

The other females that were once and still in love with the King of Vallat never seized to push all the blame onto his newfound wife.

"That woman is such a loser."

"Ever since she came to the Kingdom, we've never known peace."

"She might be hiding the king somewhere."

"I would have been a lovely wife to the king until she showed her ugly face."

The women glared at the lady who uttered the last statement. They all wanted to be the king's wife. Who doesn't want to seat on the throne next to him?

"No wonder she hasn't been crowned queen yet."

The so-called princess in question was unaware of the happenings. She was sleeping peacefully on her queen-size bed until her maids barged into her room to disrupt her peaceful sleep.

"My lady, there is a problem," Sabre spoke with a shaky voice.

What was happening? Ariel had zero clue why her maid was worried.

"What's it, Sabre?" Ariel jumped out of the bed, her maids scaring her with their worried faces.

The maid called Sabre was tongue-tied, she didn't know how to break the news to her mistress.

Would her mistress care? She and the king didn't seem to be actual or real couples which were obvious.

All thanks to Nadia who helped her break the news to their mistress who was waiting patiently for them to tell her about the so-called news that they were talking about.

"His Highness; the King is missing!"

A missing King?

How can a king go missing? Ariel was dumbstruck. She couldn't believe her ears so she laughed over it.

Her maids looked at her in awe. Why was she laughing in such an awkward situation?

"Why would a king go missing?" Ariel laughed, smiling mischievously using the back of her palm to cover her mouth.

Nadia wanted to slap the mysterious smile on her mistress's face. Some nerve that she had.

"My lady, it's true. It's all over town." Sabre, the gentle lamb spoke with a weary voice.

They were all worried about the king apart from his wife who seemed to take everything as a joke.

"Here." Nadia glared at Ariel with a disgusting look. She handed over a plain white dress to her. "You're needed in the courtroom.

Ariel saw that they were not joking and gulped hard. She went to the walk-in closet without her maids.

She didn't want them to follow her into the bathroom. They've seen her full glory enough.

Sabre saw how Nadia stared sternly at their mistress and scolded her.

"Why would you glare at the mistress?" Sabre asked with a gentle tone. She wants a violent type like the so-called Nadia.

Nadia humped, crossing her arms. "If only I could slap the smile off her face." Nadia sneered.

Sabre was quick to cover the loose mouth of Nadia. Not even in her dreams would she be able to have the opportunity to slap the smile off Princess Ariel's face.

"You're such an idiot!" Sabre said in a whisper. Her words were mean.

The maid called Nadia was still trying to be hardheaded. Sabre was like a mother to Nadia. The latter was far older than the loose-mouthed maid.

"I think she has a hand in the current predicament of the King." Nadia guessed.

Her guess was neither wrong nor right since nobody including Ariel knows the whereabouts of the King.

Could she have a hand in the King's disappearance?

Both women were cut off by the sudden cry that was heard in the bathroom.

The older maid dragged the younger one who reluctantly followed her.

On getting to the bathroom, they found their mistress lying at the top of the water. They both gaspsed because they weren't expecting to see it.

"She always wanted to do things herself. Pretty!" Nadia put on an ugly expression on her face.

Sabre was quick to slap her shoulder and asked her for help in carrying the unconscious princess.

They immediately got to cover her naked body and took her back to her bed.

"Go get the physician," Sabre ordered with a worried face.

The king was missing and now his wife was unconscious.

"She can die for all I care, she didn't care about her husband though."

With so much persuasion, Nadia finally agreed to get the physician.

Ariel on the other hand was in her world, visiting the afterlife. She found herself by the shore of the river of Valox.

Her soul has been sperated from her body.

The aura wasn't affecting her like they were acclaimed. The waves and the tornado in the middle of the river of scary.

She didn't know why it was called a river when it was as big as an ocean. She heard voices calling to her.

Voices, telling her to come inside the water.

Nobody was to save her this time and the voices were very alluring and hypnotizing and she couldn't resist it.

On the other hand, while Sabre was busy helping the unconscious princess get dressed, she spotted a red bruise on her neck.
