Water Demon (2)

The Prophetess was invited to see Princess Ariel's predicament. She was shocked at first after acknowledging the kind of situation was in.

"The water demon." She blurted.

The Lords were wondering what she was talking about because they had zero ideas about it.

"What are you talking about, Amira?" Lord Luthur asked curiously, rubbing his temple with his index finger.

The golden woman kept quiet. She was busy studying the unconscious body of the Princess.

"Amira, who's a water demon? Can you stop speaking in parables?" Lord Orpheus was worried that he might not get to see the jovial princess again.

"I'm not speaking in parables if you can just shut your mouth up." She yelled. These men were always acting like a child. For once in a while, she yelled at them.

The men kept quiet and let the golden woman meditate.

They kept whispering to each other's ears but the cold lord didn't join in their conversation.

"Aren't we supposed to be in search of the King, rather than waste much effort on her?" Lord Luthur complained pointing at the unconscious body.

The Prophetess sighed. He was right, they were supposed to be in search of the King.

"You're right, Luthur. The water demon is a big threat here and would lure Ariel's soul to abide by her rules in exchange, Ariel would seek answers to her hidden questions and we might get exposed." She said with a hint of worry in her tone.

They all paid attention to what she said. This was bad! They thought.

Ariel's body kept on vibrating.

"How did her soul get to meet the water demon?" Came Lord Louisville's question.

"She appeared to be by the shore of the river of Valox. Once the water demon gets a hold of her soul, she's never going to wake up." Amira sighed a sigh of relief.

There was a moment of silence.

What this meant to them was that Ariel wasn't going to wake up!

"Any clue about the King's whereabouts?" Lord Orpheus asked. He leaned close to Ariel's body, removing the strand of hair from her cold face. Her body was no different from a dead body.

How he pity her. But the king's whereabouts come first.

"We can get to know of the King's whereabouts once Princess Ariel regains consciousness," Amira informed.

The men present in the room's jaws dropped, and breaths were hitched.

Did Ariel have a hand in the King's disappearance?

The Lords wanted to hear more from Amira but the woman didn't say anything related to her last statement.

"She'll regain consciousness once her body settles. The river of Valox affects her body and not her soul. Truly she's something else." Amira said before disappearing.

Investigations need to be carried out and she must get to the bottom of it. The puzzled Lords were left alone in the room with the unconscious princess. As soon as they left, her body was back to normal.

Meanwhile, the water demon chased after both Ariel and her savior. Too bad she wasn't able to cope well on land.

"I'm gonna get you, Princess Ariel, even if it's the last thing I do." The water demon blurted with a loud echoing voice before returning to the deadly river of Valox.

Ariel was panting heavily. She was hiding in the woods outside Vallat with her savior who turned out to be a man with his face fully covered in a mask. Only his eyes were visible.

She tried to examine the man's eyes but was distracted by the wound on his chest.

The man held his bleeding chest with his left hand, groaning in pain. This was unbearable for him to handle.

Who was this man in black? She couldn't figure out who he was.

The man on the other hand must have stolen the clothes that he was wearing since he was a foreigner in the land.

"Thank you for saving me. I would have gotten drowned inside that deadly river." She was thankful to him and offered her sincere gratitude with a word of thanks.

The man grunted in response.

Seeing the injured man made her feel guilty. What can she do to help him? Ariel was in dilemma.

She picked some herbs, mixed them, and was about to apply them to the man's wound but he halted her.

"What do you think you're doing?" The man asked with a frown on his face. Though the woman didn't see it he was truly upset by her moves.

Ariel didn't even listen to him and was trying to recall where she had heard the voice from. That familiar voice.

She leaned closer, trying to get a clearer picture of his face. Her face was closer to his. They could feel each other's breath.

His blue eyes shone brightly and she couldn't resist removing his mask from his face. His alluring eyes were too hypnotizing for her good.

Before Ariel could remove the mask from his, he quickly grabbed her both hands with his right hand. She was too fragile for his liking ask could easily strangle her even to death.

"I repeat, what are you trying to do?"

"Chill, I'm trying to treat your wound," Ariel said placing her hand on the other side of his manly chest. So masculine and she couldn't resist touching him.

Her hand trailed down his manly abs with a smile of satisfaction playing on her face.

"So, are you trying to treat the wound or seduce me?" The man smirked but it didn't last long on his face because the pain that was coming from his chest was unbearable.

The young lass snapped back to her senses and immediately she apologized.

"How I'm I going to apply the herbs with your shirt on?" Ariel teased.

Why would she tease him like this? Does she know who he was?

The man tore his shirt, almost making her go crazy at the sight of his bare chest.

Oh, what in the world! Ariel was going nuts.
