"Take it easy, woman, I'm not a toy, you know." The man complained.
Now that he was already shirtless, Ariel couldn't focus, she was applying the herbs to his words and suddenly collided with his body.
Jeez, what in the world? She raised her head, gazing at his masked face. His alluring blue eyes were calling for her.
Is this woman a pervert or what? He asked inwardly.
"Aren't you a married woman?" He was forced to ask. This was getting out of hand.
Ariel came back to her senses and sat properly, close to the tree.
His scent and everything was familiar to her, his alluring blue eyes were something she had seen before.
"Yes, I am a married woman." She confirmed.
The man raised his brow, staring at her in awe. "Then, why are you harassing me.?"
Ariel hit the man on his chest for blurting out that statement and the man groaned from the pain coming out from his chest.
"What are you doing, crazy woman?" The man yelled.
He was shocked to hear the woman laughing at him, with no single sign of remorse.
"Mister, I'm sorry about that but you said I'm harassing you when I'm not." The latter said trying to defend herself.
The man slapped her shoulder in annoyance and force himself to stand but Ariel held his hand and made him sit.
"What for?" He grunted in frustration.
"What's your name?" She asked blinking her innocent eyes.
"I don't have a name?"
Ariel thought that he was the creature in her dreams since his aura was familiar. So she decided to open up to him hoping he'll do the same.
She rested her head on his bare shoulders as she began to narrate her dreams to him.
"An unknown creature happens to visit me in my dreams, the creature is more like a beast and I was always scared of it but later on, I felt at ease whenever I'm by its side. Its name is Vlad and you have the same features as it even though you don't look like a beast." She said before turning to gaze at his shaky eyeballs.
The man was tongue-tied. His hands were shaking and sweaty. Why was he like this? He didn't know but this woman just melted his heart.
"But you've hurt the so-called creature!" The man said with a shaky voice holding his wounded chest.
Ariel felt guilty, she remembered using the object from the ocean of galaxy to hurt the beast. She wondered how it was doing.
"Why do you have the same wound as the beast?" She asked curiously.
"I just happened to have it. Wolves attack." The man shifted his gaze from her.
Ariel knew he was lying. She had a strong feeling that he was the beast but in a man's form.
"How did you know about the beast's wound then?"
The man was getting pissed by her questions, if he kept on answering them, he might get caught.
He didn't answer her question. Ariel didn't buy his silence and kept on pestering him.
"I want to see your face."
"You can't." He warned glaring at her. If looks could kill, Ariel would have been a dead woman by now.
As stubborn as she was, she remained calm and stiff with a series of thoughts floating in her head. She had a plan and was going to see his face at all costs.
With a quick move, she was able to touch his mask but he caught her hand halfway.
"Back off, crazy woman."
But she didn't, she used the other free hand and was able to remove his mask. The man gasps and turned away from her gaze but she was able to see his face already.
Half part of his face was deformed, making him look more like a hideous monster.
"King Vladimir!" She spoke with a weary voice, wanting to burst out in tears first to shock.
He was so scary, his half-deformed face, his eyes of the part of which it was deformed had no eye socket.
"Happy now?!" He asked angrily. He felt like tearing her apart but a part of him wants to protect her and do her no harm.
Ariel was sobbing, this was unexpected. Little did she know that her soul wanted to stay with him without any obstacle obstructing them.
She gave him back the mask and he wore it so as not to frighten her to death.
"You need to go back to your body, the others are worried about you." He spoke firmly with all authority.
Ariel gazed at his now masked face and reached for his cheek with her hand. She felt the rough edges on his face and broke into more tears.
"Who did this to you?" She asked. Ariel couldn't bear to see him get hurt but he was more than being hurt already.
"You did this to me, Ariel." He responded without holding back.
Ariel was startled by his response. How did she do this to him?
"How?"
The man squatted and held her face, rubbing her chin. He was in pain to see her like this. Was she like this because of him? Did she care for him to cry for him? He had a million questions to ask her. No one has cried for him in his entire years of existence.
"Worry not, Ariel?" He assured her that everything was going to be fine.
"I'm worried, I knew from the very first day we met in the woods that you were my husband. How did you end up here?" She asked with more salty water flowing down from her eyes.
Guilt struck him, seeing his wife cry was something he didn't expect, she used to be hardheaded but now she's just as fragile as a lamb.
"You'll find the answers to your questions one day." He patted her shoulder and removed the strand of hair that fell on her face.
"When will that day come?"
"Soon! But now you need to go back to your body unless you want to be stuck here forever." He smirked but she couldn't see it.
"You need to come with me." She fell into his embrace and hug him tightly not wanting to let him go. As if her life depends on him.
"I'll be with you soon, I have some scores to settle." He smiled at her and she noticed it.
Ariel didn't respond and her grip became tighter. She didn't know how the sudden feeling came but she loved it.
"Go back to your body, see you soon!" Just like that, he vanished into thin air. Ariel was left wailing on the ground.
A light flickered in her direction and took her away.
