Not Good With Words

Sleeping peacefully in her bed, Arielle was cradling a pillow to her chest. The sun was beaming through her blinds causing the woman to stir. Usually, waking up was a simple task for Ariel; she was a morning person after all. She groaned when the first beam of sunlight hit her face.

Her eyes slowly forced themselves open and she yawned loudly, sitting and hugging herself in the bed with her messy hair and body. She looked down at herself only to find out that the clothes she was wearing were not the clothes she had worn earlier on.

Maybe her maids must have changed her clothes.

She remembered vividly that she passed out in the King's other room and now she had woken up in her room. Suddenly, the door of her walk-in closet creaked open bringing a pair of legs to settle on the white tile floor and another. The legs were dripping water.

Ariel looked up only to see her husband rubbing his hair with a short towel to keep it dry. She was stunned by this manly beauty. She blinked double times in disbelief as she rubbed the sleep off her eyes.

She watched him get dressed in her presence before clearing her throat. The man turned to look at her, sat on her bed, and leaned forward.

"Missed me?" His lips curved up in a smile.

Ariel couldn't believe her eyes, she raised her hand wanting to touch him but as usual, she lacked self-confidence. He saw the doubt in her eyes and helped her place her hand on his bare chest sending shivers down her spine.

"It's you." She excitedly jumped on his body, wrapping her hands around his neck while he patted her back. "I missed you!"

King Vladimir's heart warmed up, his face brightened up a bit. He kept her in his warm embrace before she pulled over to admire his face.

The scars...

...they made him look more appealing and she was having the urge to devour him.

On hearing her thoughts, he chuckled. "Thank you, Ariel!" He smiled before standing up to leave.

Unknown to her, there were hidden meanings behind his appreciation. And she didn't know why he had thanked her, before the latter could protest, the man was already out of her sight.

Now she had time to process what has just happened.

Meanwhile, the king was heading to the East Wing where he knew Amira and the Lords would be waiting.

He got there and they were all impatiently waiting for him.

"We traced you here...all thanks to me," Amira answered his hidden question. "Do you know the punishment for disappearing just like that?" She stood up from the dusty chair staring sternly at him.

King Vladimir raised his hands in the air, surrendering to her. "I needed time to heal up."

"Help up from what?" Lord Luthur's voice resounded in the room.

"There's a lot of things I need to tell you and I want to get redemption for myself." King Vladimir said with a husky voice.

The others were stunned.

"Why the sudden change of mind?" Lord Orpheus asked throwing glares at him.

"I got wounded by the object from the ocean of galaxy, in my beast form." King Vladimir revealed.

That would take a lot of time to heal up. Amira got angry, he might have died all by himself without letting anyone know about his predicament.

"How manage did that happen?" Amira asked angrily, she was already enraged.

King Vladimir let out a sigh of relief, at least he was now free from the pain he was once passing through.

"You see, Amira, the woman you said would redeem me did that to me." He said rubbing his bald jaw.

Their jaws dropped when they heard what their King said. Anyways he had already made up his mind to be redeemed.

"So why do you want to be redeemed?" Came Lord Raul's question.

Lord Luthur was dumbstruck, he was curious why the devilish king wanted redemption for himself, well he was no better than him. He was silent and never spoke a word till the meeting ended. They all agreed to arrange their next meeting in the courtroom while the king go makeup with his wife.

He had some score to settle and this wasn't the right time for that.

The maids were getting his wife dressed when he entered the room and dismissed them.

Ariel was already half dressed, her chest was still visible as she was only wearing a blue laced skirt. Seeing him coming closer, she used her hands to cover her chest avoiding his gaze.

The man's lips curved into a smile.

"I'm your husband, what's the point of being shy?" He asked with a hoarse voice.

All she wanted was for him to get out of the room so she can dress up. "Your Majesty, you need to go back to your room to get some rest that you deserve," Ariel said trying to digress.

King Vladimir kept on leaning forward while she kept on moving backward. "You've hurt me not more than once, Ariel. Do you believe I cause you more pain than the ones you've caused me?" His statements had some hidden meanings enough to baffle her.

"What...what do you mean?" Ariel asked looking at his face, she felt the urge to touch his face but didn't forget what she was protecting so she maintained proper poise. "Please, Your Majesty, I need to get dressed." Ariel pleaded.

"I want you to get dressed in front of me." He smirked. Teasing her was what he enjoyed doing.

Ariel felt like punching him, even her hands were already tired from protecting her chest, and her peaches were already popping out from the corners while her husband's lips twitched in a smile.

"What are you trying to hide?"

"Protecting my body from you."

Her statement made him laugh out loud. "Yours won't be the first...I've seen tons of naked bodies."

He dared say that to her face...

...her face was burning red from anger. She wanted to hurt him more than the way his words hurt her.

This man wasn't good at words at all.

King Vladimir leaned closer than before and pinned her to the wall. Ariel was taken aback by his sudden move so her hands failed to keep up with their duty leaving her peaches exposed to his sight.
