Muggles and the Magical World (1)

Ivan's feet never stopped moving, and the distance between them closed…

The pair suddenly stopped, and Ivan watched as Hermione called out to her past self and removed the Time-Turner from around her neck.

Witnessing the events of two hours ago from an outsider's perspective, the interwoven sensations of space and time caused Ivan to feel the magical power of time.

The pair made it across without being seen…

Was it because he was too distracted to notice?

It seemed, thought Ivan, that everything he was doing was still in a closed loop of time.

What if I show up now? It won't be the same as before, will it?

An idea occurred to Ivan, and he shook his head.

Never mind, let's not do these dangerous tests…

The rest of the journey was uneventful, with no further mishaps, and the pair made their way to the Muggle Studies classroom.

There was still some time before classes started, but the place was already full, and Ivan was surprised at how many people were interested in studying Muggle subjects.

Yvonne scanned the class curiously. Judging from the clothing, Hufflepuff was the majority of the students, and Slytherin the least.

It seems that with the exception of a few pure-blood wizards and witches who are curious about Muggles, most of the students are Muggle-born or half-bloods…

However, this was normal. The discrimination against ordinary people in the wizarding world was obvious.

The pure-bloods, in particular, tend to use disparaging words when it comes to Muggles to show the nobility of their blood!

Not long after, the classroom door opened from the outside and Professor Charity Burbage entered. She was dressed in light-coloured wizarding robes.

"Welcome to my Muggle Studies class!"

"I will not teach you all kinds of magic here, but I will broaden your horizons, allowing you to see the world beyond, rather than confining your vision to the small wizarding world…"

Professor Charity Burbage's words suddenly became very serious, and she continued.

"Besides, I've always believed that wizards and Muggles are equal… that they are no different from us."

"Professor!" one of the Slytherin witches exclaimed, raising her hand. "But I have heard that Muggles are very stupid and cannot learn even the simplest magic!"

"That is because they do not have the gift for magic, but that does not mean they are stupid. On the contrary, Muggles, despite not being able to perform magic, have been able to accomplish many things that magic has failed to do with their intelligence," Professor Charity Bubbaghi stressed.

"That's why we need this course!"

"We haven't had much of a change in the wizarding world over the centuries, but it's different out there, and turning the world upside down isn't an exaggeration… If we continue to wallow in our ignorance, we'll one day be completely overtaken by Muggles!"

Professor Charity Burbage talked about the Muggles' great achievements in recent years, as well as the changes in their travel and lifestyle.

Many of the young wizards in the audience looked unimpressed, and Charity Burbage did not expect them to understand immediately, so she had them open their textbooks and begin their first lesson.

Yvonne flipped through her textbook and recalled what Professor Burbage had just said. It seemed that the wizarding community had done some research into the development of Muggle technology.

The Knight Bus, Hagrid's Flying Motorcycle, and the Weasleys' magical car are all products of Muggle technology and magic.

However, it is likely that this understanding and research was limited to modifying technological objects for personal convenience, and not fundamental, as evidenced by the century-old Hogwarts education system.

Hogwarts, one of the three major wizarding schools in Europe, has only taught one Muggle Studies class over the years.

Still elective!

The fact that all wizards are not required to learn shows that the wizarding community does not value the Muggle world enough…

Ivan was well aware that, with the advancement of science and technology, the balance of power between the wizarding and Muggle worlds was tilting towards the latter.

The existence of the wizarding world could not be kept under wraps forever, once the full scale of the age of informatisation began.

Wizards have the advantage over Muggles in the ability to perform all kinds of magical supernatural magic!

In particular, the Imperius Curse, the Polyjuice Potion, the Duplication Charm, the Apparition Charm, the Elixir of Life, and many other charms and potions that, when used properly, could wreak havoc upon the Muggle world…

Such as replicating quantities of gold that Muggles could not identify, as well as other important supplies, to disrupt and disrupt Muggle financial markets.

Another example would be the temptation of immortality to turn a large number of greedy Muggles against one another, the Polyjuice Potion in disguise and Disapparated, the ability to enter and exit any location at will, and the Imperius Curse to control Muggles in important positions…

While it is true that wizards are far less destructive than technological weapons that can be mass-produced by Muggles, however, no matter how advanced the technology, ordinary people are the ones who give the orders. Only an idiot would fight and kill head-on, using their own strengths to exploit the opponent's.

More importantly, wizards were able to learn and master Muggle knowledge, which in turn could take Muggles forever to break through using technology…

The disadvantage of wizards, of course, is equally obvious, as they are few and far between, fighting each other and being old-fashioned.

The latter was the deadliest, with many wizards living in the last century and not wanting to know if anything new had come out of the Muggle world, vying for power in their own circles, causing the wizarding community to lose even more ground.

This, combined with the fact that half-blood wizards and Muggle families made up the majority of the population, made it so that if anyone tried to start a war between wizards and Muggles, wizards would start fighting among themselves without the Muggle instigation.

This is how the last transformer went down…

"It's going to be the end of the wizarding world…" Ivan sighed. He suddenly realized that the wizarding world could only watch as Muggles progressed at breakneck speed, while he was stuck in place.

Is that what those words mean?

With a thought, Ivan opened the system's taskbar and looked at the task that had been activated during the school year — to create an army of house-elves.

[A new era is approaching, and it is time for the wizarding world to change! —Ivan-Halse]

The note had previously confused him, but now Ivan understood.
