Chapter # 2

Jungkook was tired. Not physically but he was mentally drained out. He wanted nothing but to get done with his father's demand. It was not mandatory for one to have a wife before ascending the throne, it was just his father wanting to continue the line of royals before he passes away. Because leaving this responsibility on Jungkook, things might not....

As Jungkook left the Inn before Jin, he started down the road without any sense of direction. It was dark and the streets were empty. Only the grasshoppers and the stray cats accompanied him. For once in this journey, he took a breath. There wasn't any beautiful place near him but it was still serene for him. It was freedom.

Jungkook was enjoying the bliss when his attention had been taken by a girl. She was walking all alone in the dark. Her long hair swayed with the soft breeze and her careful steps had a laziness to them. Jungkook kept on following her. She had a basket in her hands and the smell of food made Jungkook realize that he hadn't had food since morning. With his every step, the girl's pace slowed until she stopped. He abruptly halted in his steps.

It was too dark for him to see her face clearly but as she turned, he could hear a soft jingle of bells coming from her. He gulped hard. Jungkook tried to come with an excuse but she had beaten him to it.

"You have been following me for a while sir. I don't have anything worth money."

Does she think of me as a burglar?

He tried to explain but what could he say, he didn't have a reason so he kept shut while the girl kept on saying things which were disturbing Jungkook more than they should have.

" You can search if you want. And if you have other ideas then I can tell you, I will not be so polite-"

Jungkook's stomach growled and he clutched it with embarrassment. The girl looked at his stomach and then at him. She came a little closer and sniffed. He did smell, he came from an inn.

" Oh poor soul! I am so sorry for misunderstanding you. You must be so hungry. Here, have this."

She took out a piece of steaming bread from her basket and put it on Jungkook's hand. Compared to him, her hands were soft and warm. He was looking at her as if she were crazy. Before he could retort. She had been gone. Despite his urge to follow her again, be stood there and bore holes in the bread.

Taehyung had tried talking to Suga so many times but that man was as quiet as dead. He even followed him to his house but that ungrateful man had shut his door on the poor viscount. Undefeated with a new plan, Taehyung was on his way back to the inn when he noticed such an amazing moment.

The night is blessing me.

Taehyung remained hidden trying to make out a little until he heard a grrr. Scared, he looked here and there to realize, it was Jungkook.

What a pity!

As soon as the girl retreated, Taehyung made is way to Jungkook with small steps. Upon reaching, he whispered in his ear.

" Such an embarrassment."

Startled, Jung kook whirled around with a fist which Taehyung dodged. And continued to look at the girl as she turned around the corner. Now all attention on Jungkook. He tilted his head in mockery.

"You are getting sloppier."

Jungkook didn't react and sat there on the cold floor followed by Taehyung. Though he didn't want to but out of manners she shared the warm bread with Taehyung.

" Interesting", said Teahyung. "What?"

" That girl took you for a beggar and I was worried for losing my title." That had both of them laughed. After a little while they returned to an almost empty inn where Jin was throwing daggers at them. Literally.
