Chapter 21: Peace offering and apologies

24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

Proverbs 16:24

Fortunately for both Hayley and Zane, June was more than willing to help Hayley reconcile with her mother. The plan was to bake the most delicious, mouthwatering cake that could ever exist in the world, that way it could be a good peace offering between Hayley and Beatrice. Though a part of Hayley was afraid that her mother would reject her attempts at apologizing, given how incredibly harsh Hayley's words were to Beatrice, with Zane and June's encouragement, she was able to go through with the plan. The chocolate cake that they made together was both beautiful and decadently delicious at least to June. Once they finished baking the cake, Hayley and Zane were given a quick drive back to the neighborhood where Hayley and Zane lived. They didn't want to end up ruining the surprise by parking right in front of Beatrice's house hence why they stopped a bit further away from her house.
