Promotion

For this meeting, Nick Fury gathered all agents above level six to report back to the headquarters. There were hundreds of them. The next morning, they directly took a large number of Quinjets to the sea and boarded the mothership.

Wesley was also among them. Today's meeting was being held on the mothership, and giving Wesley a promotion was only part of it. And Nick Fury was not just showing them how powerful the mothership was, he also wanted to awaken some people's sense of honor.

This was the first step in Nick Fury's counterattack. He couldn't act openly now, so he could only awaken some people's sense of duty, honor, or conscience in this way.

Wesley wanted to laugh at Nick Fury's idea, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. The director of S.H.I.E.L.D. was so helpless that he could only use such a method to counterattack his opponent first.

The personnel at the headquarters were clear, but what about the branches in various parts of the world? Once this matter was made public, he could at most keep the headquarters and the New York branch, and more branches would suffer heavy losses. Wesley also knew that it was impossible for the world to run around and clean up all the branches.

His ability was not so unlimited. He did not have the noble feeling of sacrificing himself for others. He had to keep his secret. Otherwise, he would definitely be the unlucky one. The best outcome would be to be studied alive.

The flight deck of the mothership was filled with people. Except for the people attending the meeting, the rest were the staff of the mothership.

Nick Fury walked up to the podium and stood on it to look at the people below. "The purpose of this meeting today is mainly to let everyone take a look at this mothership. It is the pride of our SHIELD. This pride is not how powerful we are, but that we have defeated countless enemies."

"From the predecessor of S.H.I.E.L.D. to the current S.H.I.E.L.D., decades have passed. We have always silently adhered to the philosophy of S.H.I.E.L.D. and protected this planet from foreign threats."

"In the process, we have seen countless mysteries from ancient times to the present, a lot of alien technology and objects. And now we see aliens, who were once the gods of this planet."

"Although they didn't ask us to kneel down and submit, do I still have to treat them like gods? Or can I speak from a relatively equal position?"

"S.H.I.E.L.D. will face more and more challenges. I hope you remember the oath you made when you joined."

Nick Fury told some of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s history and then began the promotion phase, which Nick Fury put Alexander Pierce in charge of.

Alexander Pierce walked up. "I'm glad to give an agent a public promotion today. Although his identity is a little special, his achievements are obvious. Although Agent Wesley Gibson has only been with SHIELD for a little more than a year, he passed the assessment with excellent results and made a lot of contributions."

"We should learn from him. For the glory of S.H.I.E.L.D., we should be more diligent and hardworking. The success of the mothership has given us greater strength. We can protect the safety of the earth more simply. We have the ability to fight against alien civilizations."

"Now let's welcome our new level six agent, Wesley Gibson." Alexander Pierce said it in a dignified manner, while also hinting to those who know the plan that Hydra's plan is about to begin.

Wesley walked up to the podium and stood in front of Alexander Pierce.

"Congratulations, Agent Wesley. You deserve it. I hope you can continue to work hard." Alexander Pierce handed Wesley a new ID. That was the case with the promotion of SHIELD. They still belonged to the intelligence agency.

"Thank you!" Wesley's heart was beating fast as he shook hands, trying to get the most information in the shortest time possible, but Alexander Pierce just shook his hand politely and then let go.

Wesley could not hold on to the information forever, and the occasion was not suitable. The information he received was only a little and completely useless.

"Won't our hero say something?" Alexander Pierce asked with a smile.

"No, I'm not suitable for such an occasion." Wesley shook his head and refused. He had only been here for a little more than a year. What could he say? The people here were more senior than him. His coming to speak was just offensive.

After the promotion was over, it was time to visit. More than a hundred people split into several groups and began to visit the Sky Mothership. The huge battleship took a long time to visit, and Wesley entered a computer room with the most complete equipment in the world.

The mothership was equivalent to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s mobile headquarters. It could be used for long-term missions at sea, so it was equipped with a large number of laboratories. The equipment was first-class and it was easy to deal with more alien things. Wesley entered the computer lab, which had a supercomputer as Elizabeth's carrier.

"Apple, how is our own smart program developing?" Wesley asked.

"The program is to add more applications on top of Elizabeth, but the progress is not very fast. Your requirements are too high. I can't do anything about the smart program that can think like a human at the moment. Maybe I can try it when Ultron is created in the future!"

"Let's take it slow. We'll talk about it when the time comes. Let Elizabeth be in charge of collecting SHIELD information, but be careful. Don't let anyone see that we're downloading this information." Wesley entered here today for the information. SHIELD will constantly input a lot of information into this supercomputer, and this is what Wesley wants. As the intelligent system of the mothership, Elizabeth has all this information in her hands.

Wesley's approach violated dozens of SHIELD rules, but as long as he was not found out, he was not guilty. It sounds mean, but Wesley knew that this is a universe where strength is everything. If you don't have strength, you will be slaughtered. So Wesley gave up some bottom lines, some moral bottom lines, of course, there are limits to giving up. It's almost like Tony Stark can fly around in Iron Man.

"Elizabeth, help me find out about Dr. Eric Selvig." The doctor is an important person in the Battle of New York. Wesley wants to see if he has disappeared. If he has, then he should be studying the Tesseract now.

"Dr. Eric Selvig has disappeared for a long time. His bank account has not been used for a long time, but a sum of money is deposited every month. The money comes from a subordinate agency of SHIELD. There is no record of the specific information." Elizabeth is very fast. Wesley now knows that the Tesseract has begun to be studied, so the Battle of New York is not far away. The exact time is uncertain.
