I Left for a Year

Wesley began to talk again, this time about his experiences in a parallel universe. These experiences were so magical that those who heard them could not believe them at all, but they had to believe them.

As Wesley explained, time passed slowly. He knew that no one had thought about dinner that night.

"That's all. I've found my home and I'm leaving soon. Isn't everyone hungry? Can we eat? Little Jason should be very hungry," Wesley said with a smile.

"Oh, right, Jason." Louise hurried to see her son, while Kayla and Clark were silent.

"I can't ask you to stay, and I can't leave with you. There are also my lovers and friends here. It seems that you were right. You have kept enough distance from the beginning," Kayla said. She was not agitated or very depressed.

"Sorry, I can indeed keep a distance, but I am very honored to be friends with you here."

'Will you be at Clarke and Louise's wedding?'

"They will, but I want them to be quick."

The wedding. A simple wedding. Louise Lane and Clark Kent were married. Their sons were old, but it didn't affect them much. Wesley attended the wedding and became best man. Kayla was the bridesmaid. There were many simple wedding guests, but Wesley left and Kayla saw him off.

Wesley sat in the Flyer and looked out at the Supergirl in uniform. He waved, then adjusted the direction of the Flyer and began to cross. The two of them said nothing in the end. They understood perfectly that this was the final goodbye, and there was no way either of them would give up everything they had.

When they returned to Marvel Universe again, Wesley stopped the aircraft and sat there in a daze. It was more than an hour before he moved his body. "I'm finally back. I'm only one step away from my home."

"What are you going to do?" Apple asked.

Wesley put away the aircraft. Instead of walking toward the city, he found a place nearby and sat down. "I don't want to delay this any longer. I'm going to run into the future as I prepare for my time travel."

"Yes, but you need to run on the surface of the sea so that there is enough distance for you to travel in time, and it will not have much impact on the current time period."

"Good idea." Wesley took out the Destroyer and went straight to the sea. He went deep into the sea and found an uninhabited island to land on. Then he put away the plane and put on the new Blackadder armor.

"Phew, I'm ready. Can I start now?" Wesley asked.

"Any time. You have enough energy. Let's start now. But the only problem is that you can't tell how much time you have traveled, so we need to do it many times. You can't run too much."

"Understood. After all, there is only the sea nearby. Let's start." Wesley directly began to speed up. In an instant, he rushed out of the uninhabited island and then ran on the surface of the sea. His extreme speed prevented him from sinking to the bottom of the sea. He smashed the sea and drew a set of white lines.

The surrounding air began to change as if something was flowing backward. "Stop, we seem to be running in the wrong direction. We need to run in the opposite direction."

Wesley accelerated in a hurry, then took off. "Wrong direction? Is there a direction in time, too?"

"The relative flow of time also has a direction, but I don't know the specific division, but you need to run back now."

"Okay." Wesley turned around, then flew, then swung his legs, then landed on the sea and continued to run. Time was different again.

"Stop, it's almost time. You need to enter the city to see the time now." Wesley went to the city as he was told, but there was a satellite in the sky now, but the alien function was very simple.

"I ran forward for thirty years. It looks like I need to run again."

"Not bad, and I have calculated the ratio of time to speed. What time point are you going back to now?" Apple asked.

"Go back to… a year after you leave. It can't be too early or too late. A year is just right. How about that?"

"Yes, this can prevent you from meeting and conflict with yourself. Then let's go back to the sea."

Wesley was surprised that time travel had gone so smoothly. He couldn't believe it. He was standing in the Marvel Universe, in the Manhattan section of New York, on Earth. He was holding a newspaper in his hand and standing under a huge statue, and the text under the statue introduced him as Wesley Gibson.

The battle a year ago was called the 'Doomsday War' by the people of today. The superheroes on Earth used all their strength but still could not defeat a powerful opponent. In the end, Wesley Gibson used the power of space to banish the evil aliens to a distant universe and their whereabouts were unknown. This is the description of the statue.

Manhattan was still being rebuilt. It was completely destroyed at that time, and a year was not enough time to complete the reconstruction. However, this huge statue was built first. Many flowers were placed below the original position of the Stoke Building. From time to time, people stopped to look up and then left.

"I'm not dead yet. These guys are probably Tony's idea. What do you think, Apple?" Wesley was excited. He was finally home. He could be completely sure when he saw the statue. The newspaper in his hand confirmed the time, a year later.

"Are you going home now?" Apple asked.

"I…" Wesley was actually a little timid. Although it had only been a year here, Wesley knew that he had been away for too long. How many universes had he gone through in the past hundred years to return here?

Wesley was like a wanderer who had left home for many years. When he returned home, he raised his hand but did not dare to knock. His heart was filled with anxiety, afraid that this place would be different from the past.

After thinking about it for a long time, he felt a little conflicted. Then, he left with the newspaper and wandered aimlessly around Manhattan. Manhattan was now a big construction site, and there was a lot of noise everywhere, but Wesley seemed to be completely undisturbed and kept walking.

Apple didn't say anything. He just let Wesley keep walking. He wasn't moving fast. He knew it was night and the sky was getting dark. It was then that Wesley realized he had been walking all day. The newspaper in his hand was out of shape and he threw it away.
