"What are you doing, Alpha?" As soon as Mace entered the library and noticed Simon standing atop a ladder, he questioned. 


Simon reached for a book and threw it for Mace to catch. "They are for Scarlett," he said as he turned to look at Mace. "At times, I think she agreeing to join our pack is still a dream. I'm curious as to what you said to her to sway her opinion. I was thinking it would be hard to make her come here." 


"Scarlett seems to be a gentle person. She would want to rebel if you spoke to her harshly. A calm voice should be used when speaking to someone like her. She will view you as someone she can trust if you do that." 


"Hmm. You know her better than I do. Why didn't the moon goddess just let her be your mate rather than mine?" 


Mace approached him and caught the next book Simon threw. As he turned the book over to read the contents, he raised an eyebrow at Simon. "You want to give her this?"
