“Witch blood. What the hell does that mean?” Gina asked, briefly breaking her typical formal language due to stress. Zaros was back to sitting on his chair with his arms crossed, studying her relatively calm reactions with disbelief.
“You have a far higher affinity to magic than other humans, so your ability to learn it is sped up significantly,” he said, waiting for another series of twenty questions.
“Oh, so it’s not a ‘only I can use magic’ situation?”
“No,” Zaros mumbled. “Humans just deny it exists and won’t ever bother because they essentially erased it from history. You know what happens with humans and things they do not know. They destroy in their fear. If they found out about reality, there would be an uproar. With how they have taken over the planet, and how there is such a huge discrepancy in population, non-human beings deemed mythical would be in danger. Including my pack.”
