Chapter 17: Meeting the Pack

“Well, that’s a lot,” Gina commented upon being caught up with the situation. She placed a hand on her forehead, letting out a sigh. “So these people have nothing better to do than obsess over your bloodline, the vampires, anyway, and these werewolves – I mean, shifters – are hellbent on emulating rabid dogs?”

Zaros couldn’t help but belt out a laugh, a tear forming in his eyes as he nodded. “Yes. That is about right. You adequately summed the conflict up, Gina. That said, I believe you should meet the pack now. Jecht is my Beta, second in command, so you will get to know him quite a bit through this process as well.”

“Right. I assume shifters function differently than actual wolves? You know that study was disproved by the scientist themselves, there is no Alpha or Beta,” Gina pointed out with a light smile on her face, placing her hands on her hips and staring at the brilliant man before her.
