Chapter 50: The Company that Never Rests

A week had passed since the attack. Gina and Zaros were recovering well, and they sat at the dining room table next to one another, partaking in another feast. This one a celebration for not only people being returned to their lives due to the effort of the pack breaking free hostages, but for Zaros and Gina taking down a major enemy when their hands were forced. Things had been closed, but they got through it.

Jecht sat on the other side of Gina, chewing and grinning, laughing at a few of her jabs and jokes. However, a few minutes later, he grew serious. “I just wanted to mention how happy I am to have you here,” the Beta said. He winked toward Zaros. “Not as happy as him. But, really. You are a fit for us, and the entire pack agrees.” There was a chorus of vocal agreements paired with several nods.
