THE FIGHT

(DAY BEFORE.....)

"Stop.... We need to talk." "I have nothing to say to say to you Eugene, go fuck yourself." "Oh really.... Is that how you want to play?" Eugene asked in a calm tone opposite to the boiling inferno within him threatening to erupt any minute.

"Why Rose?" He asked again with his arms folded in front of him. 

(Silence)

"I've got no time for this Eugene. Get the hell out of my face." "Why are you so triggered? I will ask again, why Rose?" "What do you care. It's none of your business." "We were cool once Eugene, but not anymore. You betrayed me. I trusted you and you stabbed me in the back."

"What are you talking about?" Eugene asked with furrowed brows. He wasn't following and was quite confused about those accusations.

"I really do not have time for this, so get the fuck out of here and leave me be." 

Eugene didn't bulge. It was as if he didn't hear him at all. "You haven't answered my question Collin" this time he took step closer; he looked much more intimidating even though He was about the same height as Collin.

"Why Rose?" 

"Why Rose? (shkkk) I have been watching you, Eugene. I have seen how infatuated you are with her. You are in love with her, aren't you?" Eugene was mute. His face changed, and he dropped his folded arms. He wasn't expecting that from Collin. He seemed too deep in thought realizing something.

" You can't betray me and go scot free. She is a way of getting my sweet revenge on you for your betrayal" Collin stated, smiling like that of a maniac. 

"What I don't understand is why you've kept a safe distance for this long. You do love her, I am absolutely certain about that, then why?" He asked partly questioning himself. "Are you a coward? Hehehehe well maybe you are." He answered in sarcastic way.

His look right now was nowhere near that of the nice guy having fun with Rose days ago and now it turns out these were all planned. He didn't give a damn about Rose. What he wanted was to use her to get to Eugene.

If only she knew.

Eugene begun to smile. He had put two and two together and was done thinking. "You always live to my expectation, Collin and seriously, I feel bored. Perhaps I have overestimated you. Your dad certainly can do a good job". "Don't you dare bring my father into this" Collin stated angrily pointing a finger at him.

Not caring one bit about his silly threat, Eugene continued, now with both hands in his pocket "You are right I am in love with her. You should have known better not to mess with a man in love. Leave - Rose - alone." He enunciated every word and turned around to leave.

Collins was fuming. Eugene made him feel so little and that hurt his pride. "Too late. I already kissed her" The words that rolled from his mouth felt like a piercing arrow to Eugene's heart.

"You what?" "I kissed her. Since you weren't man enough, so I thought, why don't I go grab her and teach you a thing or two on how to handle a lady."

Before he knew it, a punch landed on his face. It happened so fast that he didn't have time to think about dodging it. Eugene kept punching his face blow after blow as blood started to flow out of his nose. 

Collin got a hold on himself and fought back landing a fist on Eugene's abdomen. 

The fight was on. Their strength was on par as no one was willing to back down.

One lady on her way to the Pantlo was met with the scene of the two guys fighting with blood oozing from their nose and mouths and slight cuts on their foreheads and arms she screamed and run all along telling others about it. 

The students who were still in school then even though class had ended hours ago, came to see for themselves. No one had the courage to stop them due to fear from one side and excitement from another. 

One student however went to inform Mr. Stanley. By the time he arrived, both men were on the floor panting with blood all over.
