We started off as nobodies with no purpose, money, family, or orphans. We were nothing to society. No one wanted us. Bullied, insulted, spat on. We were called filthy rats.
My sister, Debby, and I had to fend for ourselves. We slept on the streets in the cold and ate leftovers thrown away by passers-by. Surely, the experience still haunts me.
We are well off now. People bow to us and treat us like queens. They should have seen us then. I bet they would have done the same thing the others did. It’s been a journey, a sad and terrible journey. One thing I wouldn’t wish for anyone........
Story line is impressive and structure is a bit different from the norm. The author is also consistent. Overall its an interesting book can't wait to see the end.
