Kidnapped (2/2)

'Hell, what a coincidence.' The same gods he was cursing a few minutes ago believed in him. What a surprise.

Hours passed by. He was brought dinner in the meantime and was hand-fed like a baby.

Inevitably, "Adam" came by. Wearing another sinister grin, looking forward to the "pleasuring" experience- for him at least.

To Jason, this was nothing like delight; it was hell.

He mercilessly got beat, whipped, and cut. He swore he would die soon but thought his mind would break under all the stress and pain he was experiencing.

The middle of the day rolled around a few hours after the second torturing session happened.

The lady, Mia, was assembling gear to give to Jason, selecting a fine pair of boots, metallic armor that covered most of the torso, including the neck, a knight helmet, and a short iron sword.

"What are you doing, Mia?"

A man with bleached hair approached Mia from behind, hands behind his back, staring daggers at Mia through his glasses.

"I'm going to clean these items off. We can both tell how tainted these are." She answered, raising the stained, bloodied, and overall filthy gear.

"Is that so." He spoke, narrowing his eyes at her back.

The tension was thick. It seemed as if the man had already caught on to Mia's plan to betray the group of tyrants.

"Go on. I'll be expecting a nice set of gear." He calmly told her, walking to a well-lit room with plenty of pictures and posters pinned to the walls, showcasing multiple locations, all of which were points of interest—supermarkets, gun stores, military bases, vaults, factories, etc.

Mia overlooked his intensive planning and hit locations as she was already off to give Jason the gear set.

She walked through the tile-floored hall, paintings of religious models hung by nails on the walls.

'How is Dorian catching on? Why else would he act like this?' She kept composed and continued with her original task.

Trotting through the hallways and down a short illuminated stairway, she reached a long-walk way with doors spaced 6 feet from each other.

In all these doors contained were captives, one of which was Jason.

She looked around her surroundings, making sure she was in the clear. There were no guards in the cells, barely anything.

Simply a lamp that lit the middle of the walkway, slowly fading as it reached the walls.

However, she was gravely wrong. Dorian watched from above, staring at Mia's betrayal live-action.

He had a blank slate, but on the inside, he was enraged. Someone he took in, and nurtured these recent 2 days, dared to backstab him.

He wasn't someone who let his emotions control him, so he simply let out a deep breath.

He opened a cabinet drawer filled with cigarettes, papers, and other naturally used resources.

Under the pile of objects lay a single, black radio.

Picking it up, he extended the antenna and rotated the nob to the correct channel, turning it on to ensure it worked.

"We have a traitor. It's mia. After I kill the prisoner I'll kill her. If she does anything suspicious kill her immediately." He ordered.

He could do this freely as Mia did not possess a radio herself.

Back down below, Mia opened the metal door, revealing Jason, who was covered in his own blood, blotted over the walls and the floor.

Another thing was the stench of blood that came out. It filled the room, reminding Mia of a battlefield with corpses, guts, and a metallic smell.

"Hell, they sure don't like you." She stated in a series of consecutive coughs, even having to hunch over to stop the recoil.

"Heh, Imagine if I got tortured by the guy whose knee I broke." Jason joked, even though his head could be severed from his body and carelessly thrown away at any moment.

"I guess your right. However, here's your promised gear."

Jason was slightly disappointed. It was stained and dirty. Even slightly dull.

"I'd happily do what I told Dorian I would do and leave you without gear. It might ramp up the difficulty." She said mockingly, raising her hand as she finished her statement to further mock him.

"Just give it to me."

She placed the items next to Jason and quickly pulled on the chains along with Jason.

Nothing happened at first, but slowly cracks resounded from the chain. Eventually, small debris fell on Jason; sure enough, he could feel the ease it would require to rip out of the wall.

"There, my side is paid. Now we wait for yours." She said while brushing her hands free of dust and dirt.

"What about the baby? Is she okay?"

"Of course she is. I'm a great mother if you'd like one." She said with a cheeky grin as she walked out of the room,

"I'm 14, you crazy cougar." Jason chortled at his own statement.

"I'm only 16."

"Aha, right."

"Farewell."

As soon as she left, he put the system to work to familiarize himself with his gear. 'System, examine.'

[Iron longsword: A 2-handed sword with a long-range and power. +2 Strength. Stat's double if full-set is assembled.]

[Iron boots: A pair of iron boots built by a hard-working blacksmith. +1 Agility. +1 defense for each piece a part of the Iron armor set equipped. Stat's double if full-set is assembled.]

[Iron helmet: A durable helmet. +1 Defense. +1 defense for each piece a part of the Iron armor set equipped. Stat's double if full-set is assembled.]

[Iron Chestplate: A chest plate was worn by multiple warriors in battle. +2 defense. +1 defense for each piece a part of the Iron armor set equipped. Stat's double if full-set is assembled.]

Jason had a complete armor set, he would earn 4 Strength, 2 agility, and around 16 DEF.

"Amazing…" He exclaimed, his open mouth gaping at the armor set.

He glanced at the watch left by Mia. It was only an hour until sunset. It takes about another 4-5 hours until they should be sleeping.

Jason waited slowly for the hours he wished for when he could cut down the people who kidnapped and tormented him.

Making them beg for his mercy, licking his feet, is what he thought about.

'Just like those cool MCs….'

[Geek.] The system said, intending to insult Jason.

'You never got to experience this, did you?"

[I could kill you in an instant, literally.]

'I guess you're right.'

The sunset soon became 11 PM.

He tore the chains out the wall, careless whether he made a clamorous noise because of it.

He quickly put on the armor and read his new stats.

[HP: 20/20]

[DEF: 16]

[Strength - 6 (10)]

[Agility - 10 (12)]

[Stamina - 7]

[Intelligence - 6]

'Alright, It's time.' He smashed the shackles that contained his wrists together and soon ventured out of his cell, being able to breathe in a fresh scent for once.

Dorian silently observed from the end of the hallway, awaiting Jason's following actions.

[Passive Skill: Sense triggered.]

[Enemy: 20 Feet away]

"I see you're going to be the first person I kill." Jason confidently taunted him, slowly turning his head to lock stares with Dorian.

"Let's see if that is true, Jason."

Dorian stood up, withdrawing a pair of two slim assassin-like daggers from his back.

"You ready?" He asked, and Jason simply nodded in return.

And so, Jason's second battle began.
