Chapter Fifteen

Leaving a speechless Cayden with Joe, behind I can finally take in a breath; his scent still manages to follow me. Due to spending time with the feral wolves, I had completely forgotten about the time slot I had for the training grounds. Not sure where to go now and not wanting to look like I had just left because the alpha's son appeared, I decide to put the pups' new belongings away in our room.

Opening one of the bags I come across some female clothing in my size, knowing I didn't get anything I can only presume that it is Sarah's or Chelsea's shopping. Placing it to the side to give to them later I work through the rest of the bags.

Looking up at the clock I find that it is nearly time for the pups to go to bed and being the last night of us all together I don't want to waste it.

"Hey Sarah, Chelsea. I found some of your shopping bags amongst the pups." I tell them as I bump into them rounding up the pups, they look at me with confusion before something seems to click.

"Oh, they're not ours, sweetheart. We choose you some bits as you were busy. I hope you don't mind."

"You got me new clothes?" I whisper a tear escaping my eye "Thank you. I cannot remember the last-" cutting myself off "sorry thank you I really appreciate it. Is there anything I can do in return?"

"Nope. Don't you even think about it."

"Well, there is one thing?"

"Chelsea" Sarah slaps her bicep softly.

"Anything. What can I do?"

"She is only joking." Sarah scowls at her.

"It is ok, I don't mind. What can I do Chelsea?"

"Well," she looks guilty under Sarah's scrutinising gaze "One. Can I have the pastry recipe and two can we that is me and Dean spend more time with Scott?"

"Scott?"

"Yeah, well we were thinking he is attached to you and that he probably won't want to be adopted by anyone else. So, with us only living upstairs he will be close to you, and he is working his way into our hearts, his such a sweetheart and I always wanted a big family." She babbles.

"Ok if Scott is happy then I am happy" I feel my heart crumble at the thought. I'm so happy for the pups but I see them as mine and it's hard to let them go.

"Thank you" Chelsea leaps up and hugs me "You will still have him stuck to your side, but it means…Well I suppose we will be co-parents. Now how about that recipe" she asks trying to make the conversation more light-hearted again.

"Well, I don't actually know it I just know how to make them." She deflates but my mum never had it written down she just showed me "but I can show you if you like?"

"Yes. Oh, my goddess yes. Your amazing" she squeals drawing everyone's attention to us.

----------------------------------------------------------

I've spent the whole day helping all the pups settle into their new homes, there was tears all around, however, their excitement grew when we took them to look at their new school. Setting down for dinner all of us still not adopted sit with the alpha and beta family, meaning I have the unpleasant joys of Cayden and his girlfriend Scarlett. My wolf is seething, pacing back and forth giving me headache as she mutters death threats towards Scarlett.

'Will you stop Val. Please'

'How dare she throw herself over our mate' clutching my head I watch the concerned faces turn to me.

"Jennifer. Are you ok?" his luring voice snaps me out of my inner battle with my wolf, her head perking up preening at the fact that we have finally gotten our mates attention.

"I'm good, thank you."

"How was your day?" is he seriously having a conversation with me right now?

'Jen, don't you think his voice is sexy.' Val wags her tail in excitement.

"It was good how was yours?" this seems weird, glancing over to Joe and Sarah I catch their smirks before they cover them.

"Cayden honey we need to go get ready to go out." Scarlett intervenes scowling.

"We have plenty of time to get ready Scarlett don't be rude. My day has been good. I was-"

"Cayden?"

Thankfully the pups are shovelling their food down around me in the excitement of being able to train in the training grounds. "Can we go now?" they have all managed to surround me before Cayden can talk to me further.

"What are you all excited about?" Sarah asks with a fork raised halfway up to her mouth amused with all of them surrounding me.

"Training" they manage to say in unison, her eyebrows rise into her eyebrows but the glazed look on Joe and her tells me he is filling her in.

"Come on then you lot. Sam, go get our bag" he sprints off not waiting to see if I had any more instructions. "The rest of you grab a bottle of water each. Conner grab one for Sam please."

"Yes, Ma'am" he salutes, shaking my head I can only smile loving that his cheeky side is coming out again.

Standing in the middle of the training area Sam skids to a stop beside me and places our training bag down. "Alright you lot. Everyone over six, five laps around the track, Sam, Conner I want you to do ten. Everyone else one lap." They all groan but smile with happiness as they set off on their warmup laps. Being wolves, we already have great stamina and endurance and with training it only improves.

We have been going for nearly an hour now and I know we don't have long until Carl will be here to train his group. "Ok cool down laps and stretching-"

"Jen, can we practise our teamwork before we do our laps?" Conner asks.

"Yeah sure. Get into position." I command facing Conner and Sam, I feel eyes on the back of my head, they are intrigued and no danger to us, so I choose to let it be. "Are you ready?" they nod affirmatively "ok. remember your training and trust in each other" dipping my head they move at me as a unit their training kicking in and using their knowledge to take down a more skilled opponent, dodging their blows I move swiftly.

I allow one of Conner's hits strike me in the side as I catch Sam's and throw him across the room before twisting Conner's arm behind his back watching Sam manoeuvre his body, so he rolls and springs back to his feet ensuring that he doesn't injure any part of himself.

Sprinting towards me I smile pushing Conner towards him and working as a team Sam snatches his arm swinging Conner around before he can take him out and head at me again. This time, I block their attacks and send a few their way making them have to start taking defensive moves as well as offensive moves. They don't hold back as I have taught them while I hold back mine not wanting to damage them more than necessary, but not letting them off easily, they will definitely have some bruises tomorrow morning.

They split up realising they cannot take me down coming from the front, attacking at the same time Sam's fist connects with my rib as I block Conner the snap of it breaking echoing in the room alongside their pants where they are breathing heavily, but they still don't have me yet and they know it. Spinning I block his next blow to my rib as Conner stamps his foot down onto my right leg hard but doesn't manage to damage it like he attends, grabbing his ankle I pull it forward and swipe his other leg out from beneath making him land hard on the ground before going for a round house kick to my brother knocking him down.

"And you're out" Lily and Sofia scream laugh at them sprawled out on the floor, the other pups cheering making them groan on the ground, holding my hand out to both of them I help them up.

"You are getting better boys don't be disheartened. Your movements are becoming more entuned with each other making you have to think less of what the other is doing and this is vital in a battle you cannot be thinking of what the other is doing you need to move fluently and without doubt. Lily what did they do wrong?"

"They tried to take you on" the other pups snicker with her.

"Lily though that be true" I smirk making the guys laugh "that is not what went wrong."

"Conner didn't finish breaking your rib which would have distracted you briefly for them to make another move. Instead, he tried to take out your leg whilst you blocked Sammy." Sofia supplies.

"Shit, I didn't think of that. Sorry" his shoulders slump.

"No need to be sorry Conner and that is ok that is why we train because we can get used to thinking of this naturally. Now you two do your laps and stretch because our time is up." looking up to see a warrior walking down the steps towards us.

"You must be Jenni" he smiles "are you ok?" he nods towards my abdomen, thankfully with my ability to heal my rib is almost healed and come tomorrow morning there will only be a bruise.

"Yes, I'm absolutely fine and yes I'm Jenni you must be Carl I am sorry I didn't mean to-"

"No need to be sorry. I arrived early you still have five minutes before the grumps come in. I must say I am happy I arrived when I did where on earth did you all learn to fight like that?"

"Jenni taught us" Scott pipes up. Carl stares at me.

"You trained all of them on your own?" they all nod in response saving me answering.

"Who trained you? You're like fifteen? You fight better than some of our seasoned fighters."

"I am Seventeen and I have been training for many years."

"Since when?" he raises his eyebrow, I suppose there is no harm in telling him.

"Jenni was trained to fight when she was seven." Sam supplies stopping me from my inward battle of whether to tell him or not.

"Seven but packs don't normally train pups to fight until they are in high school and are trained from seven only in defence." he rushes out in shock.

"Let's just say it was special circumstances. We should let you get on with your training session" I nod towards the warriors walking in "alright pups shower and bed."

"Jenni tomorrow could I possibly join in on your training session?" Carl asks unsure of himself.

"Erm…yeah sure why not."
