Looking over at the pups spread across the different beds in the room I cannot help but smile it's nice to have them all back with me for the night. They finally been given a chance to live and be treated how they should have been all along. I just hope my siblings will get the chance to have what they have too. Perhaps I should bring it up with Joe now the others have been reunited with their families.
Stretching my aching bones, I try to shake off my tiredness I don't ever sleep long enough, nightmares plague my dreams and my constant need to be on guard. After hitting the showers, I head out to the kitchens to make the pastries the pack adore ready for the omegas to place out for breakfast, I even find that I have time to make cookies to go in the pup's lunches for school. All prepared I make my way to the training grounds for another pointless training session, but it is mandatory.
Heading onto the grounds with my water bottle in hand I am called over by the Alpha getting his warriors ready for their training session on the opposite side to my training group. I see Carl grinning ear from ear bouncing on his toes making me burrow my brows in confusion. Why is he so excited.
"Good morning, Jenni. I think it is pointless being with the other teenagers now I have seen you fight. I want you to come over here and join my group."
"Yeah, sure thing Alpha Joe" I head towards Carl who is beckoning me over with the same excitement I saw a second ago, well least I know what he was excited about now. "Hey Carl, got ants in your pants?" I smirk
"Hey Jenni, nice to finally see you where you belong." He chuckles.
The alpha's warm up is basic compared to my drills and I find myself frowning which turns more into aggravation when I see Joe and Dean show a move, they would like us to practice "that never works" I mutter "and it is executed all wrong" Carl snorts with laughter at my grumbling being closest to me, making others turn towards us.
"Would you care to share what is so funny to the rest of us Carl?" Alpha Joe scolds but it just sets Carl off even more.
"I am. Damn. Sorry Alpha" he bows before glancing at me with a smirk "would you mind showing Jenni what to do?" Joe looks at me and it's like a light bulb goes off in his mind.
"I have a feeling I am going to regret this." He comes over to me everyone's eyes following him intrigued in what is going to happen "care to explain to me why Carl is laughing and wanting me to show you what to do?" lifting his eyebrow at me.
"For fuck's sake, thanks a lot Carl" I snarl before turning back to the amused alpha "so I may have muttered about how useless that move is and how it was executed wrongly." Everyone gulps at my audacity, but I remain tall, I am used to being beaten I don't fear it anymore "I understand that I have stepped out of place and willing to accept any punishment given but I will not hide from telling the truth." His face falls slightly before a smirk forms on his face.
"Come to the front and prove to me that the move is useless and executed wrong that will be your punishment." My mouth gapes open shocked that he isn't going to send me to his torture room, closing it quickly I move forward and do exactly what he asked, making him land on the ground within seconds.
"She just floored the alpha!" "Did she just take down our alpha?" whispers from the warriors start sweeping around the group.
"Now I can show you the effective way to do what you wanted to achieve with that useless move if you would like." I supply ignoring the whispers, his eyes narrow on me but nods briefly.
Alpha Joe POV
I cannot believe that my training session has been taken over by the she-wolf not only that, but everyone is eager to learn from her, just like the pups and Carl's training group everyone listens and wants her to show them new moves and effective ways to take down their opponents. I am not even mad at her knowing that my warriors will only improve in strength under her watchful eyes, even myself and Dean were learning new techniques.
"Alpha Joe, why do you look so stumped so early in the morning?" Alpha Chris yells across to me from the back porch where he is sipping his coffee, I'm too in my own head to even acknowledge how weird it is having him there.
"If your training session got took over by a teenage pup, I would think you would look the same" I say honestly, after telling him about the pups last night and sharing a drink or two with him we have seemed to have built some sort of neutral ground between our two packs after all the years of animosity between us and I want that to carry on forward especially if he was serious about an alliance.
"Let me guess Jennifer" he muses scratching his chin "I hope you will consider letting her come to my pack to train some of my own warriors. You are lucky to have her" well that wasn't the response I was expecting, I was expecting more on the lines of even a she-wolf is stronger than your weak arse. "Who would have thought a female with potential to be a warrior."
"I don't see that being a problem but that is something you would have to ask her about. Perhaps we can discuss a joint training session for both our packs as I don't want her to miss out on anymore of her education, she has missed far too much as it is."
"How old is the pup?"
"Seventeen if you can believe it, I am still having trouble wrapping my head around it."
"Good morning. Alpha. Alpha Joe. Thank you for letting us stay again, I was wondering if it was possible at some point to find out a bit about my sons past. All I know is that you took in the orphans in but nothing before that. My son seems reluctant to talk about it. Could we maybe contact the other pack?"
"You will be doing no such thing" Chris snarls "if anything when the pups are settled, we should be contacting the council to ensure the destruction of that pack."
"What did they do?" the warrior Jake snarls his eyes turning black as night as his wolf takes over, fur spreading up his arms.
"Dad what is wrong?" Conner and another boy ask running up to him, he turns on Conner.
"What did that pack do to you?" the boy gulps stepping back.
"You need to stand down Jake" Chris commands but it has no effect even with his alpha aurora.
"Son. Tell. Me. What. They. Did?" he snarls spittle flying from his mouth as his canines grow.
"I-I" Conner shakes from terror as the other boy steps in between them.
"Dad, you're frightening him."
"That pack needs to pay, and I need to know what they did." His wolf is getting more agitated by the second.
"Conner you ok bud?" Jenni appears from behind me stepping beside the angry wolf with no caution, I go to grab her arm to pull her away, but she steps just in front of him out of reach.
"Dad is angry" he states, and she just looks at his dad up and down as to confirm it.
"I can see that but that doesn't answer whether you are ok."
"He is my son" Jake roars in her face she doesn't even flinch with his face so close to her, me and Chris edge forward slightly ready to intervene "I will make sure he is ok." Her back stiffens and turns so that they are face to face.
"He maybe your son" poking him in the chest, what the hell is she playing at? "But until he is happy under your care and not mine. I will still ask him a question if I damn well please and even then, I will because he is my family" she points at Conner without glancing at him "Now, I advise you" prodding him in the chest again "go for a run or go to the training arena with Grey and spar to destress as you will not be going anywhere near your son in that state."
"You cannot order me-"
"Look at your son Jensen" I thought he was called Jake, but it seems calling him by Jensen knocks him out of whatever rage he was in.
"Shit Conner I am sorry."
"It's ok Dad but think you should go on that run. I come with you if you want."
"Family run" the older boy cheers, with an apology from Jake they depart off into the forest.
"Good morning, Alpha Chris. How did you sleep?"
"Very er well thank you Jennifer. I was just heading to breakfast would you care to join us?" waving between himself and me making me hold back a laugh at how unsure he is in his shock.
"If that is what you both would like. Let me go change first." Swiftly leaving we stare after her before looking at each other.
"Did she?"
"She did."
"Who the hell is she?" Chris says mystified and for once I am totally on the same page as him, I have no idea how she managed to calm a raging wolf with the strong aurora that Jensen, no Jake or whoever he was giving out.
