Chapter 6

As I open my eyes, I see an unfamiliar ceiling. Then I sit up on the bed that I was lying to and rub my eyes, that's when I start to remember that it's been 2 years since I was reincarnated into this body. I slowly stand up and get ready for another day of survival.

Then I heard a knock on my door and I know it was Columbus checking if I was already up and ready to go. I hear him say,

Columbus: Westlie, are you up? Let's go, we have to find some gas and we need to resupply some food.

Westlie: Yup, just give me a sec I'll be out there.

Nice I got up early, now I'm just going to find my bag and I'll see what the two of them doing outside. I look beside the bed to find my bag and pick it up, then I go outside and go to those two were. As I got out of the room and find where the two are, I see them near a wrecker car and I go up to them.

Tallahassee: Oh, your up. Now let's find some fuel and also some supple we are low on food.

Then I remember that yesterday we stumbled upon a truck loaded with Sno-Balls. I thought that maybe they are hungry. Then I open my bag and open it revealing the two that I got a lot of snacks.

Westlie: Hey guys I still got the snacks that we found yesterday. Want some?

Tallahassee: Really Kid? Are you kidding me?

Tallahassee rolls his eyes at me and me knowing that he hates Sno-Balls not the taste but the consistency. I laugh at him and just shrug my shoulders.

Columbus: Well food is food, can't be a picky eater now.

He said that to us while getting a handful of it from my bag. Columbus is right and I know that Tallahassee just wants to taste his favorite snack one last time.

As I was munching on my food, I ask the two of them what's the plan for today.

Westlie: So, what are the plans for today?

Tallahassee then answered me,

Tallahassee: We should find some gas, the car is low on it, and maybe find some actual food.

Columbus: why not we find some gas and let Westlie here find us some food?

Westlie: ok. so, we have a plan now. What's next?

Tallahassee: Well, we just wing it?

Columbus: Wing it?! Are you sure about that?

Westlie: How about we should find some gas for the car and some food supply, we will need this in the long run.

Tallahassee and Columbus nod their heads, affirming what we should do now and think later after we finish our task. After I said that I walk back to the motel and try if I can find a map of the town, to know if there is a convenience store nearby, and try my luck to find us some food if there is some left.

Westlie: 'I'll go first to where the receptionist lobby, maybe I can find a map there.'

In some of the movies, I watch there is a map of a town placed on a wall inside of a receptionist lobby, so maybe I can find it too.

Westlie: 'Well I better check.'

I entered the lobby and the first thing I do is check up on the walls. But as I scan the room with my eyes, I am slowly disappointed by what's in front of me.

Westlie: There's no map on the wall. *sigh* well I should not be discouraged. I'll just look around maybe I'll find something useful.

I said that to cheer myself. Then I go beside the counter and look underneath the table and the drawers that are behind me, while thinking to myself,

Westlie: 'Maybe I'll find something unexpected here?'

As I was finished finding some stuff, I go to the table and lay down and scatter what I found. There is a pen, a notebook, a list of the people who were once staying here alive, some candies and a sunglass. I pick what may be useful and left out what's not.

When I was about to finish and head out, I see in the corner of my eye a fire exit sign. That's when I remember that sometimes there is a map of this place. I know that I want the map of this town but having a map of this motel is also a welcome to me.

Finding a map to this motel helped me navigate where I should go like for example, to the kitchen of this hotel. Maybe I'll find some food that we can eat later. Eating Sno-balls doesn't satisfy me. Well, it can help us to get by, but having food that can fill our stomachs is good.

Before I go where it will lead me, I get my knives and then position myself in a fighting stance so that I can be ready when a zombie pounce on me. I then follow the sign and walk towards it. As I was navigating myself, I also check the rooms that I walk past through, well I'm just trying my luck.

As I was nearing the exit sign, I see a map hanging on the wall beside it. But there's a problem, 3 zombies are standing in my way blocking me to get to my goal.

I then think of a plan for how to get rid of these F*ckers. Then it hit me. I was once watching an anime where they distract the zombies by using a sound and the zombies follow where the sound came from. I then try to find something to throw so that I can distract them and maybe kill them one by one.

When I was about to turn around and find something to find what I need, someone suddenly grab my shoulder. I then panicked and slash at something or someone that was grabbing my shoulder earlier. Then I heard a familiar voice call my name saying,

???: Woah there kiddo, Watch where you slashing from.

I then see who I almost kill and it was Tallahassee. I then slowly lower my knives and then I sheath them behind my pants where sheaths are then said to Tallahassee,

Westlie: I'm sorry Tal, it's just you suddenly sneak up on me.

Tallahassee then scratches the back of his head, telling me that he is sorry.

Tallahassee: I'm sorry Westlie it's just that I don't want to call you, the walkers in front may hear me,

Westlie: *sigh* it's ok Tal I forgive you and am sorry for suddenly slashing you.

Tallahassee: It's ok Westlie, it's my fault too. By the way, you have a nice move back there. Maybe you can teach me one or two moves?

I smile at what he said and say,

Westlie: Sure, but later, we need to take care of this zombie first.

Tallahassee then has a questioning look on his face and then I answered him,

Westlie: Well, I need to get the map of this motel that is hanging on the side of the wall and maybe find somewhere we can get some food. You know? Like the kitchen.

He then gave an approving face while nodding to what I just said.

Tallahassee: That's good Westlie, you are more useful than Columbus. *chuckle*

I also laugh at what he said, but I know that he was just joking and we have our roles in this Zombieland, Tallahassee being the ass-kicking guy and Columbus being the strategy guy. While I am the scout of this group.

Maybe later when we meet with Wichita and Little Rock, we can do more things and think of more strategies that we have. Having more people to rely on and trust so that we can survive in this apocalyptic era.

Westlie: So, Tal? Can you help me get rid of the two and I'll get rid of the other one?

I asked him, it's not that I'm giving him the difficult part, it's just that I can't kill the zombies when I'm this small. I'm only 143.5 cm that's like 4 feet 7inches. So having a small and weak body I rely on my speed because that's what this body can do for now.

But when I'm old enough I can do more things. But that is for the future and this is the present, like I said I need to improvise. In this apocalyptic era, we need to use our brains than our brawns.

Tallahassee: Sure kiddo, I'll distract the one on the left and you get the one on the right then I'll finish the last one. Is that good?

Westlie: Sure, that's a perfect plan.

As I said that, I slowly unsheathe my knives and ready myself to kill some f*ckers.
