Chapter 11: Training-4 (Learning Combat)

Allen has learnt a lot during the second part of the training.

He has to infuse his mana into grade-1 two-handed sword and will it to cover it. It takes three seconds to fully cover the sword. He will be able to use his sword infused with his mana for two hours before his mana drains.

For Fireball he just has to concentrate his mana and it becomes a fire element since he shared it with his pet firey wolf Serina in his hand. Condense it and just throw it towards his enemy. It will burn the enemy's body for up to ten seconds before it dies down. The enemy can also use its elemental power to kill it faster. But the explosion created by it will help distract the enemy for at least a second.

For Explosion Arrow, he has to infuse his mana and it will form a small fireball at the tip of the arrow. All he has to do after that is aim and shoot.

For Death Strike, he has to infuse less amount of mana and will it to cover the arrow. Once it is covered, it increases the density of the arrow making it easy to penetrate hard armour. If an enemy has high defence, Allen can use this attack to cause damage.

During the second part of the training, he started to hear that the trainees have started to level up to the Private Mid level stage. Most of the trainees including Allen are still in the Low-level stage. But due to constant purification, his mana purity has reached 21%. He knows when he levels up the advantage he gains will depend upon the purity of mana and he is not in a hurry to level up.

During his combat training, he has learnt many combo tactics with the help of Serina. He also learnt that if he uses his mana till it drains, he will not be able to continue fighting and will die in real battle. hence he has to keep at least 20% of his mana in his reserve.

It is the eleventh day of the second part of the training started and now he can fight up to four Private Low-level robots without any pressure. These robots are humanoid and use shields, swords or spears and sometimes bows and arrows to fight. He has improved a lot thanks to the training provided by the military.

He completed his breakfast and relaxed for one hour to get ready for the combat training. Once the beginning of the second part of training, he is forced to use his grade-1 two-handed sword also as the training robots come close more often than he would like. He walked to the training ground with my fellow archers and Serina.

He continued to practice mana exercise during combat training and completed fifteen moves. But he is unable to circulate the sixteenth move as it causes more pain and he might faint because of it. It's been like this for three days. No matter what he did, he is still unable to continue circulating the mana exercise.

He reached the training ground allocated for our batch. He is currently clothed with a grade-1 uniform provided by the military and holding my grade-1 bow in his right hand and his left hand is free. He has a quiver strapped to his back which has thirty-seven arrows. In between his back and quiver is the grade-1 two-handed sword. He requested Bones, his military instructor to have this strap for his sword as it is comfortable for him to keep it at his back instead of having it strapped to his waist.

He can see their two instructors Bones and Emily waiting for them near the training ground. The training ground has ten separate rooms built so they can train separately with pets to create their tactics.

"Get into the training rooms and show us what you got" said Bones looking at us. More specifically to Allen as they had a good impression of him since the beginning of the first part of the training (looks like the first impression is the best impression). We all entered our respective training rooms.

"Battle will start in one minute." Allen heard the mechanical voice of a robot.

He took the bow and an arrow from the quiver and prepared the Death Strike knowing he will face only one robot since it is the first round.

He keeps absorbing the mana around him to replenish the mana he will lose. The countdown continued.

Battle begins.

He aimed his bow and fired at the robot, it stopped instantly and retreated signalling my victory.

Two robots entered the training room after a minute. He took one down with Death Strike and Serina took out the other using her condensed Fireball attack. She has grown much stronger since the beginning of the training.

Allen's mana is 21% pure and Serina staying inside his chest for at least two hours a day increases her attack power since his mana purity also helps her to level up.

Three robots entered the room and He used Explosion Shot to reduce their defence and Serina took them out with her attack.

Four robots entered the room and since he has used his mana in the previous rounds, he can't use it now in his long-range attacks until his mana is replenished.

He dropped the bow to the ground and took out his grade-1 two-handed sword. He infused it with mana and fire started to coat the sword. This way he will be able to use the mana for 30 minutes without draining it below 20%

Serina fired her Fireball at one of the robots and took it down. Allen slashed his sword covered with mana at another robot. Since his speed is good, the robot was defeated easily.
