Chapter 17: Level-up

"Do you need help?" Michael asked Allen seeing him getting tired.

"Yes, I need time to absorb mana. My storage is less than 20% now" replied Allen.

"Do you have the meat of any low-level monsters? Eat them and try mana exercise. It will help you to get mana quickly." said one of the soldiers while stabbing a high-level ant.

Allen immediately took out a piece of meat from his bag and cooked it with the help of his fire element. He ate the meat immediately.

He started doing the mana exercise again as per the soldier. He felt more pain than the pain he first received when he did the exercise even for the first move.

The pain was immense, but he endured it and started the first move of the second set. He checked his mana storage after 5 minutes and was shocked.

He was shocked to see 2 things. First, his mana storage is 80% full in 5 minutes. Second, his mana purity raised to 45% after eating the meat.

He wanted to ask how, but he didn't have the time as another 2 high-level ants started attacking him. He is fighting a total of 5 high-level ants now and the pressure is too much for him to handle.

He infused mana into the sword and started fighting the ants with full concentration. He also created a fireball and threw it at the ant which was charred because of it.

Allen's plan worked perfectly. The ant that was hit by the fireball got angry and pounced at him and he easily killed it by just placing his sword in its path.

Whether it's a monster or a human, when they are angry they will create a lot of openings in their defence to attack which caused the ant to lose its life now.

The other ants started to attack him in frenzy seeing one of them getting killed. In the next 10 minutes, he killed all the ants and collected the mana core from the 5 ants.

These mana cores can be sold at the guild for 1,000 credits. It is not much, but Allen doesn't want to have just 7,000 in. his account.

He again fought another set of 5 high-level ants and was able to deal with them as he did previously. He drank his third healing potion to heal himself.

'I think I can take on another few more high-level monsters easily now.' Allen thought. At the same time, he saw 7 high-level ants coming his way.

"I was just kidding when I thought of fighting more monsters!" he said out loud getting a few laughs from the soldiers next to him.

He fought with them for nearly 40 minutes before killing the first high-level monster with a stab to its neck.

He killed the remaining monsters and collected the monster cores from all 12 ants. He was happy as he will get 12,000 credits easily.

Another 3 more cores and he will get the amount he paid for the potions. He saw another group of monsters approaching him.

He has to be careful as they are peak-level private-stage monsters. But there were only 3 attacking him.

The peak-level monster's coordination was really good. Each attacked in from a different side. He will be able to defend only one of them.

One ant attacked his left thigh while the other attacked his chest. He defended the coming towards his chest and moved his left leg to dodge the other ant.

He took his bow from the storage bag and used it for defence and to use it as a blunt weapon against the ants.

After another 60 minutes, he was able to defeat the 2 peak-level private-stage ants. He sighed in relief since it was too hard for him to handle 2 levels higher than him.

But with the bow to defend and sword to attack, he received less damage and finished the fight quicker than expected.

He collected their mana cores too. He felt a strong sensation in his mana space. He immediately realised that he is about to Level-up.

He checked his mana purity and saw it at 56%. This will give him a huge boost in power.

He immediately drank the vitality portion to level up without draining his mana.

It took 10 minutes for him to level up. His mana storage capacity increased along with his strength.

Serina also got her power increased as every level-up will be utilised by both the humans and their pets.

With the level-up to the high-level private stage, he is able to deal with the peak-level giant ants without much difficulty.

He continued his mana circulation throughout the battle and he reached 5th move of the second set.

He got wounds all over his body before reinforcements arrived. He has used all his healing portions and now has no portions in his bag.

Once the reinforcements arrived, they took over the battle and they all were escorted to safety as they needed medical attention.

A few soldiers were sent to the emergency treatment centre as they lost a lot of blood due to injuries.

Allen's team was also sent to the emergency treatment centre.

Allen on the other hand was not seriously injured, thanks to his 1st mana seal. He was asked to take some rest in the treatment centre for a few days to heal his injury.

The next day, the doctors were shocked to see that he is completely healed. Only then they realised that he was doing the mana exercise.
