Chapter 28: New House

Hearing me, the receptionist showed her hand towards the desk which is connected to a large scanner.

I emptied the storage backpack with all the panda meat containers.

I removed the meat from the containers and placed them on the desk under the scanner.

I also placed the mana cores that I collected from the hunt along with the meat.

After confirming that all that needs to be sold is on the desk, the receptionist activated the scanner and a green light appeared on the scanner and scanned everything on the desk.

"It will be 1,00,000 credits plus a mission completion reward of 50,000 credits." said the receptionist after the scanning is complete.

"Can you help me with a small house for lease? I need it for a year." I asked the receptionist.

"Sure, may I know what is the budget for the lease?" asked the receptionist.

"1,00,000 credits. It should have a backyard for practice and exercise. It would be helpful if it is furnished." I replied.

"Please follow me." said the receptionist and walked towards a console and entered a few details and a few images of houses appear over the console.

"These are the houses that met your criteria." said the receptionist pointing towards the images.

There were about ten images on the console and I started to view them one by one.

After a few minutes of checking, I chose a house which was a few streets away from the hunter's guild.

The receptionist provided the paperwork to be signed. After carefully reading the document, I signed them.

There was a 5% fee for the assistance of the guild in finding a house.

The receptionist transferred the remaining 45,000 credits to my account after the transaction and document signing.

I got the copy of the document and the key for the new house and left the hunter's guild towards my new house.

The house I took for lease has a bedroom, a hall, a kitchen and a dining room. It also has a backyard for practice and exercise.

The house was furnished with all the necessary types of furniture. I will not have to worry about others as this is a single house and not an apartment.

I purchased a few ingredients to cook before reaching the house.

I opened the door and saw the hall had a sofa and three chairs around a tea table.

The dining room had a table with six chairs. The kitchen had a few wooden shelves to keep the ingredients and a stove to cook.

It also had a refrigerator to store perishable items. The bedroom had a bed large enough for two people to sleep comfortably.

It also had a small desk and a chair for reading. Finally, the house had a backyard almost half the size of the training ground in camp Poyesion.

It had a bathroom with a toilet attached to the bedroom and another one in the hall in case I had any guests.

Serina went inside all the rooms to make herself familiar with the new house before going to the bedroom to jump on the bed and sleep.

She likes to sleep more than anything in the world. She would sometimes skip food so she can sleep longer.

I went inside the kitchen and started to prepare dinner for us using the meat of the high-level specialist stage snake I killed earlier today.

Since I was raised in the orphanage, I was taught to cook from a young age so I can help the cook in the kitchen.

It took about fifty minutes to prepare the dinner.

I woke up Serina to eat as we had nothing from the morning after we entered the forest.

She woke up with an annoyed expression on her face and came to the dining hall to eat dinner.

She doesn't like to be disturbed while sleeping. If it was someone else other than me to wake her up, she would be very angry and would have lit them on fire.

Both of us had our dinner in silence and Serina went to bed directly after dinner.

Since there was more time to sleep, I opened the holo watch I took from the corpse to examine it.

It is password protected just like every other holo watch in the empire.

I have to crack the password or give it to the hunter's guild so they can crack it for a small price.

I decided to try my luck before paying the guild for cracking the password.

It took me about two hours before I could finally crack the password and open the holo watch.

Most of the contents in the holo watch were personal photos and journals.

The name of the person who died was Samy who was from a wealthy family.

The last entry in the journal was a month back, so he has been in the forest for more than a month.

Judging by the decaying rate of the corpse he should be dead for at least two weeks.

I was surprised to see that there were a few folders that can teach a person new skills to improve their fighting power.

There are skills for speed, attack, defence and even a skill to run in the air.

But all these skills can't be learnt by me immediately as these skills will require at least a corporal level stage to master them and use them without side effects.

After going through these skills for a few minutes, I went to bed and slept.

I woke up the next day by 4:00 AM as usual and did my routine exercise and morning duties.

Now I have to figure out how to get stronger so I can be safe while hunting.
