Chapter 35: Getting used to New Bow

I was disappointed to hear that I can't hunt with my new bow immediately. But both Joe and Kamran are veterans and they know what they say.

So I agreed to them half-heartedly and booked an archer-trying room near my house for the full day tomorrow to get used to my new bow.

I left home happily after hearing Joe. He said that if I have no use for the knight-grade sword I have, I can give it to him so he can use the materials in it to upgrade my bow.

I came home after thanking both of them. I opened the cover of the bow and saw a beautiful blue colour bow inside.

It had dark red at both ends where the bowstring is attached. The rest of the bow is sky blue. I liked it very much and loved the craftsmanship on the bow.

I took the bow in my hand and felt it. Only one word came to my mind. It was "Perfect". The bow is the correct weapon for me and this bow is perfect for me.

I was awake till midnight looking and feeling my beautiful bow. I had already called Joe on his holo watch, praised and thanked him for this beauty he crafted for me.

The next day, I woke up early and did all my chores as quickly as I can and went to the training room I have booked to train my archery.

I will have twelve hours from the time I enter the room to get used to my bow. I don't need any arrows for this bow just like the grade-2 bow. But I also don't have to use monster cores.

This bow will use a very little amount of mana to create the arrows. Unlike the graded bows, the arrows created in the gradeless bow will solidify and will remain pierced into the target.

I entered the training room and saw a huge space in front of me. I have paid ten lakh credits for this training room as it will have training robots for me to fight with.

I started recording my training as I usually do. I started by having the standard stationery target for practice. I practised for thirty minutes with various attacks I used with my other bows.

This bow used very little mana, but the power was great. I was happy with the performance.

The military will not allow the soldiers to have gradeless weapons and armour unless one reaches the Corporal stage. Till then, they can only use standard-graded weapons.

After thirty minutes, I made the target move in random directions so I can train my precision and aim more accurately in a fight with faster monsters.

I was only satisfied after practising it for about six hours. I was able to hit 90% of the targets at the centre when they are moving at the speed of the giant grasshopper we fought a few days ago.

I took a rest for thirty minutes and then started to train with the training robots. Since I am not using my knight-grade sword, I started with the opponent's level same as mine.

The training robot that had a low-level specialist stage was beaten by me within fifteen minutes using my new bow. I am not using Serina in this training as I wanted to gauge my power.

I wanted to train myself in using my bow at close range so that it will come in handy in the future.

I was able to defeat the mid-level specialist stage robot in one hour. I wasn't able to defeat the peak-level specialist stage robot till my twelve hours were up, but I was confident that if I continued fighting it for another half hour, I would have defeated it.

I also got used a little to fighting in close combat with the bow. Now I am confident that as long as the monster I am fighting is not faster than me, I can fight it in close combat using my bow.

I stopped the recording and went through the important timings to check my flaws. I was able to find a few flaws in my style which I need to correct in the future.

I left the training room tired and hungry. I went home and ordered food on the way. I hit the shower as soon as I reached home.

By the time I came out of the shower, food has arrived. Serina and I ate the food and I left for Hunter's guild to inform my change in weapon again.

I have to do this so the mysterious man who gave me the badge that is in my wardrobe can know about it.

I did not wear it as I don't want to. I first need to know about him and what secrete he is having so I can be sure I am on the right side before wearing it.

I went back home and went straight to bed as it is already nighttime. I will go hunting with Kamran tomorrow to know my strength.

I know I can only fight till peak-level specialist stage monsters now since I am not going to use my knight-grade sword, but this will help me to know my limits and break them.

I was happy that I met Kamran and his dad, Joe. Both of them are good people. He will have to thank them in some way for the help they have provided for him.

I was getting ready to sleep when I heard a very loud horn. This horn is the signal to warn the civilians, warriors and military soldiers that a monster horde is approaching.

Hearing that I was shocked as we fended off a monster horde just a month back. It is not possible to have another horde so soon.

With shock on my face, I got up from the bed and wore my battle gear, took my bow and went straight to the City centre.

I did not bring my knight-grade sword as it will attract a lot of unnecessary attention that I do not need.

The horn blew for two minutes continuously meaning it is not just a monster horde. It must be a monster tide.
