Chapter 50: Loosing the pet

We are still in the bush hiding and watching the five elephants that we are going to hunt. These elephants are in purple and they have good offense and defense power.

It will be hard for us to kill even if there are only one or two elephants in this area. Their Trunk can be used for good defense and their tusks can be used for a good attack.

Their Tusks are very strong that they will easily tear our armor like paper. We have no power to destroy its tusks as they will be defended much better by the trunk that is so close to them.

Since the elephants are hard for us to kill in a one-on-one battle, Hoger permitted us to use our pet's help in the battle. I called Serina to our location and waited for her to join us.

All the other's pets came early, but Serina didn't come with them which made Allen worry. He waited for another few minutes and saw Serina limping towards him.

Her leg has injured and had a bite mark on it which was looking serious if not treated soon. Serina wagged her tail and came close to Allen and Hoger came to check on her injuries.

The wounds on Serina suggested that she fought with a monster that is far above her level and won somehow. But her injuries are critical and should be treated soon to save her life. She was in no condition to help Allen in this hunt.

So, Hoger took the lead and ordered other trainees to attack the elephants and joined them in the hunt as Serina is not in good condition to help Allen in the hunt. Hoger joined the hunt just to distract the last monster elephant from attacking the other trainees.

Serina laid on the lap of Allen just like she used to do every day and was whimpering in pain. Allen tried to comfort her by patting her head and tried to put bandages he had on her injuries which she did not allow due to her pain.

He was too worried about his pet and tears started to flow from his eyes when seeing his pet's suffering and realising that he couldn't comfort her enough and help her.

The poison was spreading all over her body faster than expected due to the multiple times she was injured.

The trainees and Hoger finished the hunt as fast as they could to help Allen to take his pet to the monster hospital to cure her.

They started running with their pets in front to create a safe path for them and Allen and one of the trainees carrying Serina ing a hastily made stretcher. It took them two hours to reach the city.

Hoger has already contacted the hospital to send them a vehicle with doctors to the defense wall so Serina could be treated soon. The doctor checked her as soon as they entered the city.

"I'm sorry to say this Hoger, but this fiery wolf has already succumbed to her injuries and poison in her system. We can't do anything for her now." The doctor said with a heavy heart.

Everyone was shocked to hear it as they know Serina was the strongest pet among their pets and made Allen stronger.

Allen trembled and fell to his knees looking at the pet he knew for many years. His closest friend in the world has passed away and he couldn't do anything about it. Tears started flowing from his eyes and no one could help him at this time.

The doctor continued to check the poison level and the injuries inflicted on Serena and was shocked to find the truth. She had fought against a Low-level Master Seargent monster and killed it and ate its poison glands to get this much infected.

He was shocked to know a low-level corporal monster fought against and won a monster that was two stages above it. He has never heard of anything like this before.

Allen couldn't come out of his shock at losing not just his pet but his best friend and was taken to Joe's home by Hoger to comfort him. He also vacated Allen's house using his authority and made Allen stay in Joe's home until he recovers.

Now Allen has to cope with the loss of his friend and his strength together since he lost his ability to use fire and wind when Serina died.

He was not worried about his strength as he knew he can get it in the future, but can't get a good friend like her again.

He was removed from the Warrior guild training due to his loss, but he is still a member of the guild because of Hoger's authority. He wanted to help Allen in any way possible as he was one of the best cadets he has trained in his years.

He and Joe's family tried to comfort Allen in any way possible. Even Kamran came and tried to comfort Allen by discontinuing his mission in the middle. He knew that Allen and Serina were the reason for him to be alive today.

Allen was still heavy-hearted even after getting so much comfort from his friends. Kim visited him as much as possible to comfort him. She even wanted to be with him always, but her military duty did not allow it.

Allen stayed in his room provided by Joe and only came out when he was visited by his friends. He was forcefully fed by Kamran and Kim when they visit since Allen stopped eating food on time.

Allen also dismantled his mana purifier as he didn't want to use the same which he shared with Serina. Now he will have to start from scratch once he partners with another pet.

He didn't want to have another pet but everyone tried to convince him to have one so it could comfort him and get him ready for his future.

Everyone was shocked to know that he dismantled his mana purifier as he will have to start from a low-level private stage again. He also has to start the mana circulation from the beginning because of his new mana purifier.
