Missing a Heartbeat

"I'll drive you to work," he took my backpack from me whilst he held his own briefcase. Whenever I tried to take it back from him he held it up over his head knowing fully well there was no way I could reach it. He was an absolute child.

"I can drive myself to work thank you very much," I pulled on his heavy arm in efforts to get my bag but nothing worked.

"It will be a waste, we're going in the same direction," he shrugged, "come on or you'll see how you get your backpack back because I won't give it to you."

He did not even bother to wait for me as he walked out of my apartment without skipping a beat. I stood there completely flabbergasted. He was more stubborn than me which was a rarity to meet.

Once I snapped out of my shock, I quickly walked out of my apartment, locked it then rushed to him as he waited for the elevator. He already had a smirk on his face probably feeling victorious. "Enjoy this moment," I murmured, "it will never happen again."
