Landing?

From outside, the plane looked like a great bird. As it descended and touched down on the hot tarmac of their destination, Maddie felt an overwhelming sense of wonderment; its wings glistened under an orange sun and a heatwave seemed to be brewing in anticipation for their arrival. She quickly looked around and hopped out of her seat as soon as they landed "We're here!"

Jay and Maddie both got off the plane, Jay was annoyed, the event had already started, and they hadn't even been there to attend. The two of them walked through the streets. Maddie was enjoying taking in the view and the sights while Jay was actively working on getting the plane ready for them to leave first thing tomorrow. "Looks like the plane is going to pick someone up and head to New York, If we hop onto the plane first thing tomorrow we can—"

Jay was interrupted by a voice behind them, "Excuse me! Can I help you?"

Maddie and Jay turned around to find a short woman standing there. She had her hair tied up in the same style as Maddie's, and she wore an expensive-looking business suit.

",No we—" Jay was cut off again. "Yeah! Do you know any good food places?" Maddie quickly interjected with a friendly smile.

The woman smiled back and shook her head. "I'm actually here to pick up someone, they should be arriving soon. But if you're looking for good food, I can suggest some places! Maybe we could even go together?" she said with enthusiasm.

"ma'am that's a nice offer but—" Jay started to say but was cut off again.

"That sounds great!" Maddie said happily and quickly made introductions. "I'm Maddie, and this is my friend Jay." She motioned towards Jay with a smile as she waved at the woman. Jay was annoyed but didn't have anything to do so she went on a tour around the city. it was a small, but thriving one, and Maddie and the woman had fun exploring it together, learning about the local customs and culture.

They eventually ended up at a small cafe that was tucked away in an alleyway but was praised by locals for its delicious food. Maddie ordered some of her favorites while the woman ordered something she heard a lot about - chai. As they ate Jay ordered a water and Maddie ordered a juice box." You don't drink coffee?" the woman asked Maddie curiously.

Maddie shook her head and smiled. "No, I'm allergic to caffeine," she replied. She then looked over at Jay with a smirk and added, "But he's hooked! He drinks coffee like it's water!"

Jay rolled his eyes in response, The woman looked over at him and rested her head on his chin. "You look tired, What do you do for a living young one?"

Needless to say Jay was annoyed, "I'm a writer, how old even are you?" he asked crossing his arms in annoyance.

The woman gave him a knowing smile and said, "How old do I look? I'm a dazzling 47 years old~" She then laughed. Jay was stunned, she didn't even look older than him. her skin was so smooth, Her voice was soft and soothing like honey, and his British accent sounded like a melody to the ears of any human who got to hear it. They seemed to blend in effortlessly with the world around her. She had removed her glasses and let her hair down. Her skin was porcelain sheet, smooth and flawlessly glowing. It wore smooth skin. Her lips were the epitome of gentleness, and her natural color reminded him of ripe fruit. The eyes, framed by long black lashes, were the color of crystal reflected a million times over. He was certainly surprised, and she could see that.

The woman gave him another warm smile. "I could tell you were tired young one, and wanted to make sure that you're okay. You don't need to keep it all locked up inside of yourself. Believe me when I say this, Life isn't always easy but we do our best with what we have and try. We might not be able to look the same on the outside but we have so much in common if you take a moment and really look."

She reached out and patted Jay's shoulder, her warm hands comforting him in an instant. Maddie looked at the two of them in surprise and wondered what else was about to happen. Was this woman going to be able to help Jay out of whatever sadness he was feeling? She decided that she would stay quiet and listen.

The woman smiled again, her eyes sparkling with understanding. "call me Jolene, That's what i go by! i know a nearby hotel you two can stay in! then you can do whatever you wish!'

Maddie was stunned by the woman's kindness, she couldn't believe how understanding and caring Jolene was. this place was better than she had expected!
