Tragedy strikes as much as luck has its turn, and sometimes, … just sometimes, tragedy has the upper hand.
(29th FEBRUARY)
When Anna got home, welcomed by her mother’s music, she had a knack for classical music, especially Brahms ‘Moonlight Sonata’, which highlighted the deep bond she shared with pianos, as a fellow pianist herself. The sounds which alternated distinctively after each note hit Anna sharply as she opened the door and received her mothers back, as she walked past the lounge making her way to the stair case, and with a sudden change of pace, she looked at Anna with calming eyes, with a pinch of sadness in them, much like, the music made her weep deeply inside, without a teardrop in sight, and with a single side smile she said, “ Well hello there my dear, go freshen yourself up before dinner.” She then took the stairs fiercely, stepping on each note with content, mindfulness, and much intensity.
As Anna made herself at home, the piece on showcase reached its peek as when it was to come to its end, Anna’s father Mr Stevens made his presence known, and with his pale, light skin and his charming gaze, he looked at his daughter with calming eyes and guided her to the dinning hall where they dined together in harmony, with no unseen interruptions, the night went smoothly just like any normal family. The quietness of Anna’s home caused a lot of unnecessary thoughts, the memories which creep up into Anna’s head was frightening, the fact that the girl she was compared with had a sudden disappearance made everything even worse, she could not help but think about the sadness Amy had, as miss Messie mentioned, it made her even more scared, the thought of a kid just vanishing into thin air is completely alarming on its own, not to mention that she had an unknown mental/psychiatric sickness.
Her room had a little cute double bed at the middle, with peach beddings, the lamp which stood right next to her bed had a black/brownish colour, with a pinkish wall which goes together with the bedding and a white coloured wardrobe. She sat on the black carpet which habited the space between the door and the front of her bed, she kept an interesting facial expression the whole time as she stared at her teddy bear which she had placed right in front of her, although there wasn’t a definite reason why she would place it there, although it was able to help her gather thoughts more easily and before she knew it, she couldn’t stop drifting inside of her own thoughts.
She drifted into her thoughts so much that she completely spaced out from her own room and found herself in a new world where she was the only person present there, with memories to keep her company. She thought about how Miss Messie had a dim room for an office, she thought about her father’s unusual charming face, he hadn’t been in that kind of mood for almost two years, and as she got too engrossed into her thoughts she suddenly thought about the conversation she had with Mr Brown creeping up to her, he was a very curious man, and although he looked her handsome, his eyes had something weird about them especially when he spoke about little Amy.
He said, “Amy had a little teddy bear with her as well, she caried that thing everywhere, until the unknown occurred, she suddenly left the teddy on the sofa right next to you, and I don’t think I could ever forget the expression she had on her face, her eyes were so swollen that if looked like her eyeballs could pop out of their sockets at any time, her lips had lost their Rosey beauty, and replaced it with a peachy kind of colour and with lots of double cracks on them, she looked as though she had been hungry, and hydrated for weeks, she had a kind of stare which gave you the creeps, the kind which you would work yourself up trying to find a solution towards, or even a single reason behind it, but still, all she dd was come into the building and stared at the floor while taking the stairs, even when her favourite doctor tried to conversate with her, she continued to stare at the ground until she reach this area. When I tried to welcome her for her check up, she quietly stared at me and took her teddy to the sofa there, and then her eyes shifted towards Doctor Messie’s office, then she entered the office.
The dragging of her feet gave my heart a piercing, as I thought about the glass eyes which those feet had been carrying broke my heart even more. She looked like she needed a serious distraction from the monsters which had occupied her mindscape, she needed something to make the pain go away.
Doctor Messie and Amy spent hours in the office, that I stared to think that there might have been something wrong going on, when I finally got off my chair in order to check out what could be any reason for them to take so long, the door opened, and Amy came out of the office, the weird thing about this was that, she was doing much better than I would have she would, and on top of that, she gave me a smile, the kind of smile she hadn’t given in a very long time, it was the smile she gave everyone in the building when she first started getting consultations from Doctor Messie, it took her a whole two years to get it back, but how could she get it back in just fours hours?
Although I had my own worries from this sudden change, the smile on her face warmed my heart deeply that all I could really do was give her a single hug, as I smouldered her with affection, her dumbfounded reaction made it even more beautiful.”
And tears started falling form Anna’s face, a whole river of tears covered her up face, as much she tried to bugle them up with a tissue, it seemed meaningless. She started panting as the tears stopped falling and her breathing changed drastically as the tried her best to gasp for as much air as her lungs would allow her to get until she reached a perfect peak, and she started getting better with time.
This made no sense to her, as she hadn’t been one to suddenly have breathing problems, when she has always been a very healthy baby, she had never had any unforeseen sicknesses in all the years she has been alive, but then now suddenly, she was having panic attacks.
