Presentation

What should I do, I can’t afford to fail this.

“Is it true?”

Cree throw a look my way, he was seated two seat from me.

“What Cree?” I mouthed, he points at Berlin and whispered.

“She’s presenting your work.”

I only nods dejectedly with a sigh, I feel like giving up already.

“What would you do now?” He asked worriedly. He knew how difficult it would be for me if I lose this.

“I’ll think of something.” I smiled to reassure him that I would be fine but he furrowed his brows at me. He knew I was lying.

“You better.” He wagged a finger at me.

“You better stop talking before she gives you a D, for having your neck turned.”

“I might poke my pen through her nose. She’s a witch.”

I muffled my laugh, Mrs. Apache, was the teacher we all hated.

“...I must say you surprised me, Berlin. You did a nice job here.”

“I’m one diligent student, Mrs. Apache.” Berlin smiled, and was staring at me. The corner of her lips quirked into a smirk.

“You sure are.” I replied sarcastically and lay down my head on the desk again waiting for my turn to step out and say trash. And then get an F or a D. Getting a D would be a miracle at this state.

“Where’s your paperwork?” Her angry eyes bore holes into my skin, making my skin prickled.

“I’m sorry Mrs. Apache. I mistakenly took something else other than it. I thought it was my project but it wasn’t it, it was my Dad’s CV.” I chuckled foolishly at my choice of words, earning a laugh from the class.

Her eyes darkened.

“Are you becoming stupid?”

I bite my lower lips and looked down on my feet like it was the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen.

“I’m sorry, Ma.”

Everyone became quiet, and about sixty pair of eyes stared at me.

“So what am I gonna look at?”

“You can look at me instead, Ma.” I quickly replied her, I don’t wanna make her more angry.

“And you’re..?” She stared at me:

“Rosella...” I looked up and held her gaze for a brief moment. “...Edward.”

“Rosella Edward?”
