The role

Juniper woke too early. Even the creepy, unknown creatures of the realm hadn’t chirped. Kai was still not back yet, and she had a pang of terrible guilt planted in her stomach. She took her time to shower and collect her thoughts. She thought about the war, the scale, Dayton. She took a breath, knowing that something was deeply misplaced and she would get to the bottom of it. She was going to understand her role as the Lady of Sala, and she was going to learn it fast.

When she swung the door open, she saw her big burly org of a guard standing there, as he had for the past week. “You are to stay in your room, lady of Sala.”

“I will not. I will go to the library.” She said in such a tone, pretending to be royalty. She guessed in some way she was. He nodded and escorted her to the library. Then he stood outside the library doors.
