Dreams And Troubles

Doubt stubbornly clinging onto the edges of my mind.

I savored the sweet aroma of the charming table, and the breeze came onto my face, forcefully freezing in my heart. The people setting up the table looked at me with sleazy eyes, waiting for my fork to touch one of the buttery meals. I was set up on a slope, blurring my mind as I could only drool at the sight of meat, my arms tingling for a slice.

Suddenly my eye was caught by the beautiful fried chicken, crispy and shining like gold, something my tingling hands could grasp with acceptance from the judges. I down right into the box as I felt the oil run dry with my hands, I gulped to hold down my demon side that was ready to devour it in one bite.

I reached it deep in my mouth with a crunch, and a giant crater formed from the side of the chicken.

"MMM," I moaned, opening my mouth for another bite.

Suddenly I found myself savoring the bone as the family looked at me with crazed looks. Their jaws hit the floor as I left nothing of the poor chicken.

"...Just how long were you starved for!?" The dad asked, shaking his boots for the answer.

I looked up from my meal, snapping out of my meal rush.

(Hunger = 420/500)

Looking up at the panel with a dull ache, I found out what I had done, as the entire table was void of meat.

"..." I sighed, answering truthfully, "It's been about two weeks since I had a proper meal. As I don't have any family, I scavenged through the trash most of the time,"

These people had healed my wounds, satisfied my stomach, and did not ask me for a favor. They deserved a bit of the truth, much as I had to censor it, but if I had, Mr.Orca might be looking as he was persistent as was powerful.

And trust me, knowing how persistent he could be.

'...I guess they don't talk to the weak,'

I thought, stiffing my shoulders and starting to pull out my chair, as they didn't have to see their somewhat creator.

"Wow... You went through a lot,"

They didn't stop me as I entered the damp forest, floating down its vines as I went deeper down the hole. My heart was chained up at the bottom of the ocean, having plans to watch movies with my friends before this, a family to turn to, and my life wasn't trash like a fatass isekai main character.

Neither did I know the future like in a novel, as I didn't write a script of the story, rushing in ignorantly waiting for enlightenment.

The sun was setting down, I felt as if hundreds of 200 years had passed by, and my naked feet bled onto the point grass. I shivered from the cool breeze.

Step. Step. And a toe

I could not take it anymore, as my body started to heat up, finding myself in an old and floaty cave, crouching down to live, my eyes becoming damper as my heat became hollow. I asked, "why was I here?" I was the author though I only had two chapters. Why was the world so hard? the protagonist always breezed through everything, thanks to his courage...

"Why can't I do the same?"

A white mist came out which each word, keeping the bruise on my head. I have gotten this breathtaking power, but still, I was not trending in power. Maybe it was that I was weak in both my mind and body, but the system would always help a protagonist, was mine broken?

I saw nothing change, my sanity hanging on a cliff, as I felt something pierce my knee.

"Ow."

Blood lust = 100/500

I examined my hand. My nails had been bleached in black and sharpened in a blacksmith. A hand looking like a witch's this was. A curse and a blessing... As I was barely living now, ignorant of everything.

Neither did I want to go to earth. It sounded like too much trouble. Because if I could smile, I was content with anything. Earth was not the best place to live anyway.

It was already corrupted to the tiniest bit, I would be happy to see my family, but I would cry because they no longer knew me.

Imagine your son coming home as somebody else: Having natural blue hair and emerald eyes, being a half-devil, and looking like a fantasy character. I wouldn't believe me as well.

I was now Val Collod, not the aspiring writer called Kai.

"Hah, I can already feel the tears."

My vision cracked. I held the barrage back, folding my nails away from my body. Standing on a slope of my consciousness and the dream world, I tried to fight a ghost with my fists.

...

Val Dreamt:

Jagged and empty, as nobody walked the walls surrounding many mountains other than one man, everything he touched grew out a mark of snow. The mountains constantly being lesser than the next, A radiant sun watching over his every step.

He looked up, right into the sull sky, paving it with the color of blue, as he traversed through his rocky bridge with no end, weathering the world his bridge did not touch. The mountains were cold and frisk- as he watched with a frown stuck down on his face.

"Why? do we have to suffer?"

The man asked with an uncertain tone, seemingly asking nobody in particular.

He unloaded his stiff eyes and opened his arms to the sky. As he cracked his neck, turning it upward to the night sky. Crimson red and quiet with no sound, he murmured a chant of a curse.

"He who struck! They shall be split apart. Your eyes taint to the crimson Light. I command The Halo Of Nothing to Be of dreams and power. For the next partner to embrace. Take my wishes and bring down the fake!"
