The Hunt (3)

I scattered around to each side, 3-puppies in hand, sprinting became even more tiring. I was lost in this agonizing forest, still waiting for the sun to strike up high. My tongue was withering away out of thirst, and my mind was wavering due to the lack of sleep.

"Yip," The monsters occasionally barked.

The blood in my left arm crisped away - I thrust the arrow into a tree, abandoning the weapon. My voice started to fade away, losing power in my tone. My legs were running on my might, not fueled by strength, as I had none left.

I slaved away, turning my foot, my eyes hardly clinging to the edge, wanting to enter the world of dreams. I gritted my teeth and moved away, holding on to the leftovers. I had to be safe, or else I was a goner! I needed somewhere where we would be safe, void of anything, like a failures room.

"KCCk"

My legs cracked, making my eyes pop out in agony - I drooled out, wailing away in the forest. I might have a broken bone, but with my will, I continued, as I did not care if I was attacked or about to wind up dead.

'You are not gonna be of help like that?'

"Shut...Up-Grrk"

Ever since then, I hear the cocky and raspy voice, always thinking he's above me, trying to coax me to eat the meat. I didn't want to - I would never listen! I had promised to hold on... But the smell had become too alluring, guiding me to the bag.

With my noodle-like arms, I slapped it away.

But still, I was unable to throw away the meat-filled bag - I decided to ignore my instincts and move on. No matter how good it sounded, it was raw... and exquisite, the bag was... My eyes sparkled a crimson red.

"Yip?" The monsters barked, making me stop my hands' course to the meat. It was getting harder to hold on. My stomach was gaping a large hole, barking like the puppies.

Finally, I couldn't hold on as I fell face-first down the damp mud, imprinting my body shape on the floor. I looked to my right, where the bag stood. I couldn't resist it, grabbing the raw meat with my mouth and slowly biting it off one by one.

My body emitted a golden glow. I went through months of recovery in seconds.

Hp = 205

I keep on gnawing

Hp = 340

I gulped it all down-

Hp = 500

Finally, I could walk. My bones were in perfect condition, just like the voice said, but after I glanced over my shoulder at the puppies, my awe worsened. I had just eaten their mother in front of them. I wanted to punch myself in the gut... As I took them back into my arms, leaving the bag behind.

What was this feeling? Anguish? I wanted to stab myself - I didn't like 'me' - I wanted to change. Just why was I doing this? Who is the monster? Am I at fault?!??!

My mind was barely hanging on the slope of a mountain. This was no blessing - I couldn't control it -the system was moving me forward - not me.

'You are naive, boy.' The voice sighed, "I would have taken over long ago if I could.'

My heart fleeted hearing his words. He was something much higher than my imagination.

...

The voice had shut down, and I finally felt the chilly breeze in my nose. The tricking river shivered down my aching feet. I leaned down gently, placing the dogs on the ground, as I started to walk away with a shaking face turning my back.

"Goodbye."

I was running away from the fact I couldn't say 'sorry I didn't think I was worthy of that word, but when I walked away, I could see a part of my heart fleet away. This power was becoming more of a curse every day. I wish my ability would be something without consequence, but I can get stronger...

I was lying to myself, as getting stronger did not matter. It was an excuse.

/Strength = 2 + 11

Endurance = 1 + 7

Agility = 2 + 14 /

Much as I would like to end it, I was too far in, as the smell of gunpowder frisked my nose. I knew something was going on, so I didn't hesitate to run away from it.

...

"Cough..."

I was near the end of the forest, but I was ambushed by two black-wearing men, blocking my path to the exit, using small tricks like smoke bombs and throwing knives. Thinking they were ninjas or something.

I could hear their footsteps going in a circle. Closing my eyes, I listened, but I still could not catch on amidst the fog.

"Get out, will you!"

I screamed, implanting my food on the ground, crouching down, and readying to use one of my skills. As the men that hid in the mist - rushed down with their swords, Slashing down from both sides, I barely avoided their attack, jumping up at the last second. But now I was vulnerable with no weapon.

They soon followed me up, and one of their knives plunged into my shoulder, as I hardly held my focus as wave two was coming.

The couple thrust through the sky, holding their sword high and mighty. I activated Swift's movement allowing me to hover down, making the guys headbutt each other, eyes sparkling with rage.

They slashed at me like wild animals, but I avoided them thanks to swift movement, jabbing their heads and stomachs with my weak hands when there was an opening.

Woosh, posh

"Chill down, my god!" I told them as I barely avoided one of the men thrusting at me with the edge of his saber and the vertical slash of a blade that came after.

"No, we must not." Soon as they spoke like robots, I rushed down into attack mode.

I punched the one with the blade full speed, snatching the iron blade from the man's grasp. The younger guy slashed his saber like a blade, grabbing the iron blade and twisting it around, barely blocking it, making the weapons sparkle in our clash.

"Pretty fun?"

While he looked at the blade, I twisted my foot and swung it to his nuts with all I had.

"Awgggg"

The dude screamed out like a ghost, his mouth drooling as he fell. I quickly stripped them out of valuables, as I was currently in tattered rags. After the job was done, I pierced their hearts with my newly acquired blade.

"Thanks for your business and your wallets."

The green-haired boy walked away, with a gleeful expression in his red eyes.
