[Tempest Of The Starry Night] has arrived!
"Welcome Players, to the Spirit Gathering Forest! The race track has been predetermined by @[Early Morning Chaos], and the race would begin in a few hours… Please familiarize yourself with the environment before that time…"
The sweet sounding voice of a female sounded directly in heads of all the players, and her words brought a frown to their faces. Some of them looked around themselves while others had begun to move around in order to get used to their bodies.
Some richer and more intelligent players had began to spend their real life money on purchasing premium packages and boosts. Even Robert [Early Morning Chaos], had purchased a few packages of healing potions.
Jack on the other hand was busy modifying and upgrading the car he brought with a smirk on his face. He had already thrown $10000 into upgrading this car he brought for a mere $20000, and he couldn't help but smile at his investment.
Since he was only able to purchase low levelled vehicles due to the in-game restrictions that forbade him from accessing any other vehicle higher than Level 10, he would simply use his knowledge from past games to exploit the rules of this game.
It was technically cheating as the game was supposed to be free and fair for all players hence the earlier mentioned restrictions to prevent richer players from purchasing the highest level of weapons right from the start without labour or work, but only a few cared about it.
[Normal Black Bugatti has surpassed power rating of 999, undergoing forced evolution and assimilation of upgrades!]
[Error Code 101 overridden, Error Code 405 overridden, Error Code 608 Overridden!]
[Upgrade Successful! Normal Black Bugatti has gained an increase in grade to become Abnormal Black Bugatti, reaching power rating of 1000 and gaining it's first skill slot!]
Jack couldn't help but grin uncontrollably, it was common in nearly every Neo-VR game he had played since childhood, the reward attained after the successful ascension into a whole new level.
As for whether he should insert a skill into his vehicle or not, Jack already has his answer. He wouldn't insert a skill into his vehicle to prevent his nearly obvious cheat to become even more profound than expected.
Everyone here, although stupid and dumb at times, were very calculative and decisive… Of course they would instantly sniff out something strange if Jack's car was the only one with a skill amongst all of them.
Although his car might be more overpowered compared to thiers, it would be very difficult to discern him cheating due to the immerse amount of boosts and upgrades used on his car before their eyes.
They would simply take it as the limit of his car and ignore it. Although, some might be very troublesome and still want to cause trouble anyway.
"Ah, I should also see my base stats and abilities. Maybe I might have been spawned with a skill or beginner's pack of some kind…" Jack frowned as he held his chin in thought with his head bowed. After pondering on something for a while, he lifted his head as a sharp glint flashed in his eyes.

"Basic stuff… huh? RnC skill? This kind of skill this early in the game? Is it some kind of bug?"
Jack, as an avid player of Neo-VR was stunned at the discovery of his skill, a skill that gives him a boost through killing… Commonly, the starter skills of newbie players are basically trash.
Third rate skills with no shocking might or awe inspiring effects. Most of them could be completely trash like Weak Speed Boost or Trashy Strength Upgrades while others might be fairly acceptable like Flaming Fists and Body Steeling…
Skills like Rage and Carnage are very rare and powerful, but extremely difficult to cultivate. The only way to maximize the potential of his skills were to indulge in major battle quests and realm conquests.
Bah, why was he thinking about all these now? He should focus on the race to avoid eating dust despite all his preparations. There was only a few he should be wary of in the game…
Robert [Early Morning Chaos]; Fay [Tempest Of The Starry Night]; and that other guy Wang Xing [Ultimate Star King]!
Just like him, they were also chronic cheaters with sizable knowledge about Neo-VR and racing in general… They were people he should watch out for no matter what.
Jack paused his deep thoughts and looked up slowly with an apprehensive expression on his face. He had noticed someone approaching him from afar.
The newcomer was in the character of a busty red haired beauty wearing revealing black robes. There was a sheathed sword strapped to her waist giving off a faintly cold aura of death and blood.
Who was she amongst the players in reality?
"Hello, is there a problem?" Jack greeted with a sweet smile after breaking his apprehensive expression in a instant. He would leave the interrogation aside and let the newcomer do an introduction on her own volition.
"Hey Jack! It's me Felicia, we're building a Pact over here in the case of future gaming. I wanted to ask if you're interested in joining us?"
Felicia? That strange woman, it's not a surprise why she picked such a nefarious character. But, what name did she… For the love of heaven and the hatred of hell.
[I Am Felicia]!
Those words floating above Felicia's head seemed to have given Jack a powerful shock, leaving him speechless as his jaws loosened alongside his shoulders. He was left momentarily speechless… Infact, he was left dumb.
Those three words were so grand, so profound, so~ so~ Felicia.
"Hehe, what a nice name you picked for yourself there… It would be impossible for crazy online gamers to track you down in real life." Jack grinned after speaking sarcastically, not knowing what kind of therapy would help correct Felicia's strange thought process.
Why was he saying that? Wasn't it just a name? What was bad about it?
Actually, the name wouldn't have been bad if it were any normal player using it… But! We're talking about a crazy Felicia here who would freely stomp on the nuts of any male who dared 'disrespect' her.
"Hmph, I don't care what you think you cocky brat! Even if they know where I live, none of them can do nothing to me being the trash that they are! In fact, anyone that offends me in this game would suffer the same fate as others from past games."
At this, Jack broke into a cold sweat with a strange smile on his face as he stared speechlessly at the proud looking Felicia before him. He recalled the time when an NPC had tried to misbehave with her in-game and she went on a mega-killing spree to vent!
Many poor players and NPCs were KOed heartlessly and their instantaneous and unjust deaths would leave a bitter taste in their mouths wouldn't it? Then, would they mind planting a harmless little snake in Felicia's room if they ever got the chance?
Her using the gaming name [I Am Felicia] is like telling all her enemies the starting point in their search for her. All Jack hopes for is that she finds the best in life, and that her partner carries the grace to persevere with her.
As for her request… No, hell no! Of course not!
"Nah, you yourself know I'm not too good with taking orders and stuff like that…" Jack politely declined in a tactful and neat way to avoid incurring the wrath of this crazy woman. He should find the best possible way to escape as soon as possible.
"So you don't want to work under me? Am I not good enough to lead you?" Felicia spoke softly, looking truly hurt with her tearing up eyes and downcast expression. Even a heartless bastard would feel bad upon seeing that face.
Now, if she was so heart broken… why was her hand stealthily relaxed on the hilt of her sword and slowly unsheathing it? Very strange and mysterious.
"You're…" Jack's back was now drenched in his cold sweat, and his throat had gone dry in pursuit of his parched lips. He felt like crying, but had no tears.
This woman had issues. Despite his wise and intellectual way of saying no, she still twisted his words in a way that pushed him back into the bad guy seat… He wished he had bought a weapon earlier, defeating this armed woman was no joke!
"Hehe, since you won't follow me Jack… just die for me!" Felicia pulled out her sword in a blink, stunning Jack with the bright reflection of light as she took a fighting stance with a grin on her face.
Shit! Shit! Shit~~~
"Kekeke, no need to be unreasonable darling, why don't we talk about this?" Jack was now drenched in sweat, shivering and cursing under his breath, he looked rather pitiful. If he had no pride as a man, he would have let it out by now… his ocean of tears.
"Just…"
Pin drop silence prevailed over the players as they turned frantically in the direction of the two preparing to battle, their eyes gleamed in expectation of another fight.
"Die for me!"
