Meeting a Legend

Final Exam for Floor Advancement is just ahead but the opposing team with whom we will compete didn't show up for some reason. My infamy might be one, but that's beside the point.

My team consists of 4 members, me as a Wave Controller, Xia Xia as a Light Bearer, Hwaryun as a Scout and Yeon Ehwa as a Fisherman. We only lack a Spear Bearer from the 5 Major Positions but we don't really need one to be honest with you.

The 5 Positions are not really mandatory but they are something of a necessity in normal teams. I mean division of labour is a thing too. But our team doesn't really need much of that since I am here.

The test examiner Ranker who looks like a certain short Dragon Ball character then says that he will prepare a new test for us and takes us to a yacht like Floating Ship.

We traveled by that Floating Ship for a few hours towards the borderlands of the Inner Tower. To pass the time, I played some multi-player games with Xia Xia on her Lighthouse. Hwaryun just fell asleep during the journey and Ehwa was applying some sunscreen and looked like she was deep in thought so I didn't bother with her.

We were suddenly taken out of our musings by some sudden rumbling that was caused by certain very massive Divine Sea Fish (Shineuh) called Zigena. It's an endangered species in the Tower on the verge of extinction due to certain dark schemes of a certain family. But that's for later.

If I am being honest, I underestimated how massive Zigena would be. This thing is huge, like really huge. It's the size of a town easily, if not a city on Earth. Obviously not a metropolitan city, just a normal city.

The test examiner told us that for our test, we would have to go inside the Zigena and get the Flower of Zigena to pass the Test. He then proceeded to jump into the water Shinsu and left us alone on the Floating Ship after telling us about a motorboat.

After a small discussion about our plan of action, we rode the motorboat towards the Zigena.

Everyday, the Zigena comes out of the water for around 2 and a half hours to sunbathe. That's what it currently is doing.

It has two blowholes through which we can enter, one on its back and one on its belly. We decided to go in two groups of two to cover more distance. Obviously there is more to this, but that's only for me and Hwaryun to know. Her role is important because I need her to find 'it' as quickly as possible. And it should be easier for her considering that she is a Guide.

As for me, I have some other business. The groups will be Ehwa and me, and the other one comprises of Hwaryun and Xia Xia. Honestly I would have preferred Xia Xia to be with me but it can't be helped, since I am the only one who can stop an out of control Ehwa and Xia Xia is much more useful in capturing 'it'.

"All right. Ryun you go ahead with Xia Xia and try to find 'it'. We will enter after it flips."

"As you wish my lord."

"This is a troublesome job, Mr Viole. I hope you pay up after this."

"Yeah sure."

I just answered Xia Xia in a perfunctory manner. Money isn't really a problem after all.

Then they went ahead and climbed up this massive beast quickly in a few minutes. Now it's time to back up a little from Zigena so that it doesn't fall on us when it flips itself.

But suddenly at this point, a 'problem' occurred.

"The boat isn't working!"

"Oh is that so? Okay."

"How can you be so calm at a time like this?! Here, let me try this."

My 'genius' student probably rubbed her two brain cells together to come up with this 'brilliant' plan. She basically set fire to the engine.

"Huh...? Why is it not working?"

I am speechless at this girl, she noticed my gaze and a blush appeared on her face probably from the embarrassment of the situation and started murmuring.

"I really thought it would work. I saw this in a game that Flames boosted the engine even more."

"Yeah, but reality is a game much more complicated than that."

She just turned silent at that and turned thoughtful for a minute but then she realized our current situation and panicked.

"What do we do now teacher?! Zigena should be about to flip any second now!"

She says while looking at the timer on her Pocket.

"You don't need to worry about that, I will handle it."

"I will leave it to you then."

What's going on in this girl's head? How does she have so much belief in me? I am not surprised that she knows that I am not in danger, but why does she not doubt my words that I will save her considering that I am from FUG? Well it doesn't really matter, if I am being honest. Let's get this over with.

And then, suddenly Zigena flipped and boy was it an amazing sight. I mean imagine the town of Fuyuki being flipped or a city like Orario being flipped. The sheer scale of this was massive.

While that was happening, I grabbed Ehwa's waist(which resulted in her blushing) and kicked off from the motorboat and stood in midair at a distance where I wouldn't be affected by the flip.

I put Ehwa over my shoulders like the sack of potatoes she is, no way am I going to carry her like a princess. Besides this position is somewhat better than that one in some ways.

I then kicked the platform of air Shinsu that I formed and reached the belly of Zigena in under a second. I put down the sac- Ehwa pretty quickly because I knew what was going to happen here.

She vomited a bit. And it's only natural to happen, considering that her body is not used to the speed at which I traveled. It must have severely affected her semicircular canals in ear which caused a vertigo which lead to this vomiting. That is of course, if biology works in a similar way as my previous worlds here.

Anyway, after vomiting and calming down after a minute. Just as she was about to say something, I interrupted her since I don't want to deal with her tsundere bullshit or some other thing.

"Let's go."

She just dumbly nodded at me and followed me as we entered the blowhole of Zigena.

We walked for a few minutes in peaceful silence while looking around us to look for any flowers. But I know we won't find them here since they are really rare.

While walking we end up in a large open space. By the way, we are able to see in this dark place because of my flames lighting up our way.

Suddenly a red colored beast that looks like a centipede and a fish at the same time fell from above. It looked like it wanted to attack us.

"Show me the results of your training, Ehwa."

Ehwa didn't say anything in response, but just shot a concentrated beam of fire. That resulted in the creature burning to ashes.

"Yes, I did it!"

But it seems that she spoke too soon, considering that a horde of these beasts could be seen falling from somewhere above.

I covered Ehwa and I with a barrier of Shinsu. More for her sake so that she doesn't get crushed, no matter how small of a chance of something like that happening may be.

As the beasts were falling, I saw a beam of light landing on the corpses (well they became corpses with the force of the landing) of those beasts in the middle of this large space. The landing actually shook the entire Zigena.

"Wh-what's going on..?"

I don't answer her mumbling since I was stupefied by the man the beam of light represented.

This man possessed an incomprehensible amount of power, I can just feel it and it made me actually scared. Comparing Master and him would be an insult to him. For example, as a comparison if I said that my Master was an ant then this guy would be an elephant or even more. Just to put it in perspective, Master can easily thrash me around as he pleases right now. So you can imagine why I am stupefied.

I suppose there's a reason that he is Rank 4 in the entire. And also the currently strongest active Ranker in the Tower, Urek Mazino. I now wonder how powerful the King is, since he is just one Rank above Urek.

"Ehwa."

"Yes?"

"Get out of this place, and meet up with the others."

"Wha-"

"Damn it Ehwa, just do it!"

Ah I am panicking. Calm down me.

As Ehwa started to slowly back up, suddenly an enormous amount lighted up around us and disintegrated those centipede like beasts' bodies.

"Don't even think of running away, if you want to live a bit longer."

Ehwa stopped since she was probably struck dumb by the current turn of events.

"Ehwa, you get out of here. I will stay here."

She seemed like she wanted to refuse me but seeing determined(probably) eyes, she accepted my decision.

"All right, the girl can go but you will stay. I try not to harm girls if I can help it."

The man acted exactly as I thought he would, which at least relieves me a bit.

So as Ehwa is getting out, I ask him a question that I know the answer to but I would still have to play dumb just so that I am not suspicious to this man.

"Who are you? Why is someone as powerful as you here?"

There, nailed it.

"No comment on that. It will probably be problematic if people found out that I am here. I will just say that I am one of the strongest beings in this Tower."

He says while sitting down on the corpse he was standing upon.

"By the way, why are you so stubborn? You have lost that many Rankers but you keep sending them in. Do you have a surplus of Rankers on this Floor?"

"Rankers? We are not Rankers. We are Regulars who came here for a test to find the Flower of Zigena."

"What?"

He then started laughing for a bit.

"All right, I will let you go then but you can't get the Zigena Flower since it's also my reason to be here."

Yeah this is all happening according to my script now. And the blow to my confidence is recovering quickly.

"No that isn't happening, I will get the Flower."

I say while I boost myself with Black Hole Sphere Shinsu Control and started walking towards him.

"Oh?"

His tone changes to one of surprise and one that understands everything now.

"Okay then, I'll play with you little boy."

Writing this chapter was exhausting, especially since I had to rewrite in the middle when I lost some progress. But yeah, I can't really say that I am motivated to write these chapters considering how busy I am right now. I also noticed some white strands in my hair, which were probably due to stress.

Anyway, the point is that I don't know when I will release the next chapter. I want to write this "fight" well and not be half-hearted. I mean you can see my enthusiasm, when the beginning of this chapter was essentially a summary. This Urek event will probably take two more chapters if I keep the fast pace as I usually do. Also this event is much more important than it seems to be on the surface so I don't want to ruin it while writing it with an unmotivated mindset.

There is also the fact that I brainstorm more about backstory for my non harem DxD fic MC than this. I will probably publish that fic when I finally get free from my exams and write some chapters of it in back up.

Honestly, I don't know when the next chapter will be but I hope for your sake and mine that it will be soon. I pray that I write a decent fight scene since I am not really good at them.
