Chapter 21 Part 1

Leylin rode through the snow-covered landscape, the chill in the air biting at his face. The snow crunched under the hooves of his horse as they made their way through the winter wonderland.

The sky was overcast, the clouds hanging low and heavy in the sky, occasionally letting out a light flake of snow that gently falls to the ground. The trees were frosted over, their branches weighed down by the snow. The snow-covered fields stretched out as far as the eye could see, the only interruption to the vast expanse of white being the occasional frozen stream or rocky outcropping.

Leylin felt the cold seeping into his bones, but he pushed on, his determination to reach his destination driving him forward. He pulled his cloak tighter around him, trying to block out the cold. He could see his breath in the air, a plume of white smoke that dissipated quickly in the frigid air.

The horse's breath came out in clouds of steam as they trudged through the snow. The animal's steps were steady, and Leylin could sense the animal's determination to reach the end of the journey.

As they rode, Leylin couldn't help but feel a sense of peace. The snow-covered landscape was beautiful in its simplicity, the only sounds were the crunching of snow and the occasional bird call. He took a deep breath, the crisp air filling his lungs and invigorating him. He knew that the journey ahead would be difficult, but the serene beauty of the snowy landscape made it all worth it.

As he rode over white hills, he caught the magnificent sight of the marble wall of the capital city of Kislev, Chrysalis, the Frozen throne of the western heights. The awe-inspiring Crystal palace, a wonder of beauty, was visible even from this far.

It was a hard ride from Bretonia, especially with starmetal ore he knew the stallions were exhausted, but magnificent and hardy beasts from the northern wastelands had done a commendable job.

He rode up the white gate. It was the gate used by high-ranking members and nobles travelling to Chrysalis. He was surprised to find that knights were guarding the gate. No wonder it was a true powerhouse of the continent. He preempted the guards by unleashing his aura, freezing the terrified guards in their place. He entered the city without incident and rode to the business district.

A marble pavilion stood with a Red Eagle emblazoned on a banner. He rode into the pavilion; from a side gate. Leylin kept his face covered with the silver mask while the hood hung over his face. Fawkes flew towards his hand. The commotion naturally attracted Roran's attention, who was watching over the pavilion from the balcony. Roran promptly dismissed the company he had been keeping and headed towards Leylin with Locke flanking him.
