Chapter 21 part 2

"Young Master," Roran greeted silently while silencing an overeager Locke.

Roran wasn't talented in martial pursuits, but it was his ability to read and navigate the mundane world that made him indispensable to Leylin.

Leylin was certain had it not been for Roran, Locke would have created a real commotion and attracted attention that he was trying to avoid.

"There is Starmetal ore in the cart; deal with it as you wish and have someone prepare a bath for me," Leylin whispered to Roran.

"All of it, my lord, it could cause the market to…" Roran spoke

"Deal with it as you see fit, Roran you know how to optimise our profits. Locke, walk with me." Leylin interrupted. Locke fell behind Leylin as they walked into the building.

"How has the progress on training the guards been?" Leylin questioned.

"We have 10 knights by now, My lord," Locke answered. His braggadocious behaviour irked Leylin.

"Congratulations, with luck, these guys would become grand knights before you, I suppose," Leylin commented, dripping with sarcasm.

Locke shrunk, "I will do better Young master."

"Passable, I suppose," Leylin continued.

Leylin walked away, shaking his head. He asked the maid to leave. He could see the surprise in the maid's eyes. She probably expected, Leylin to demand some form of sexual service from her. Luckily or unluckily for her, he was too exhausted and had too much on his mind to partake in the exchange of bodily fluids with anyone.

He disrobed and stepped into the warm water, and allowed it to soothe his aching muscles. He then proceeded to clean himself of the grime and grease he had accumulated during the journey. After exiting the fresher, Leylin went to the branch castellan's solar while letting out a bit of his aura. He promptly dismissed the shivering man and instructed him to inform Roran and Locke that he was summoning them to the solar.

"Young master," Roran greeted once he entered.

"Roran, have you gotten in touch with the magus who is in possession of the testing orb?" Leylin questioned.

"Yes, my lord, he has agreed to test you in return for magic crystals and gold," Roran answered.

"How many magic crystals," Leylin asked.

"4 magic crystals my lord," Roran replied.

Leylin fell into deep thought. He had expected that the mage would ask for magic crystals, but how many he couldn't predict. Few would want their aptitude tested in detail since there would be a free test when the magical academies start recruiting. However, even fewer with this kind of capability would be present in such a backwater place. Since there was neither demand nor supply, it would be hard to predict a price. Was it a high price or low he couldn't predict, but he needed this knowledge if he wanted to exploit WMW.pdf properly.

"Good, that is good; ask him to come tomorrow, " Leylin instructed enthusiastically.

"As you wish, my lord," Roran answered.

"Good, Then the two of you can leave. I am exhausted and would really like to rest for a bit." Leylin said.

Once Leylin was alone, he allowed his gaze to linger upon the moonlit sky.

he knew that he had an eventful day tomorrow. It would decide his future plans which path he could take and which he could not would all depend on the result of tomorrow's test, but for now, he was content just to sit and take in the beauty of the beautiful sky adorned by stars.
