A lesson to remember

*Morpheus pov*

"The meeting, did it turn violent?" Albus asked carefully

I nodded, "It did, I had to resort to drastic measures to make it out. The vampires have had enough and want to be free and roam again preying on innocent wizards and witches," my reply was met with a sad look across the aged wizard's eyes

His long sigh sounded burdened and tired, "Tom," he began his voice regretful, "Always had a way with words, since the vampires have joined his mad crusade then we must prepare ourselves. These students' Morpheus their lives will be filled with war, I wish no one would have to face what they will," he tapped on his desk, "Let us hope we can end this before too many are lost," his eyes seemed to be gazing at something far far away

I nodded deep in thought, "War will come to these lands, Albus, it will come faster and fiercer than you think. Make these halls a safe haven for them, a bastion of security and defense." I stood up and made my way for the door seeing as he was contemplating my words

As I began to descend the stairs I laughed and yelled, "And don't worry too much about the vampires, they tried to kill me I will repay the favor," with that I left his office

"Class today I will be teaching you something important so if you remember any of my lessons remember this one. I will be teaching you one of my favorite spells that ties back to divination, first I will explain the origin of the spell and the first iteration of it," I smiled at my third-year students

I decided it was finally time to provide them with a spell that could be used in dueling after all I do use a variation of it. With my special eyes and years of practice, people still do not know how I predict spell movement and attacks so easily. Alas it isn't all-powerful as seen with Vladimir's attack.

"The spell was formed from another spell called Sensum Amplificare. Sensum Amplificare was created by herbologists and artificers to amplify their senses such as, smell, touch, hearing, taste, and sight. They used it to discover and discern new materials and plants. With a simple flick of their wand, they could find the best herb from a batch. Soon others realized the spell could also be used in more creative ways like in battle, but it was found out that many couldn't focus in high-intensity situations with greater senses and it took a lot of practice," I chuckled remembering my first time using the spell

"Of course, divination experts picked up the spell and began to use it for finding the 'perfect' ingredients which we will be doing soon. But then! A genius master of the art decided to look deeper into the spell and realized maybe, just maybe he could enhance the sense of intuition. Thus the spell Intuitio Magnificare was created. The purpose? To enhance intuition while receiving visions, many laughed and said what was the point of such a spell. They hadn't realized how important intuition truly was yet. Of course, the spell can be used for many different things," I said with a slight smirk

"Today, we will be covering Sensum Amplificare, as it is imperative you master this spell before any further steps are taken. Practice this spell, and experiment with its uses safely of course. Now, the wand motion is a simple half-circle to the right, and then I sharp flick upward, and while you go upward point and focus on whatever sense you want to amplify," I laughed and added, "Of course if you want to amplify touch then bring your wand sharply up and then to your palm, now remember to hold your wand at a good length away and that your pointing doesn't need to be spot on intent matters greatly. I don't want anyone to poke out their eye," that earned some worried looks

I began to instruct the students to only perform the wand movement, for now, each time by pointing to a different sense sector. Most of the students got it down quickly while some struggled to flick the wand up fast enough. I had to help them with the speed, I wish sometimes I was teaching aurors at least they know how to point and cast.

"Good, now let us begin with enhancing one sense. This is important so pay attention, when starting to learn this spell never enhance more than one sense you can get nauseous with the bombardment of information. Also, you will soon learn that by using the principles of magical control you can adjust how high you enhance your senses. Let's start with touch, it is by far the easiest to get used to," I said with an encouraging smile

The students nodded with clear excitement before they focused on casting the spell soon the sounds of wands swishing through the air followed by the words Sensum Amplificare. I noticed by the small jolts and awkward faces that some people already completed the spell, I waited for the whole class to adorn these looks.

They were obviously uncomfortable and I couldn't hold in my laugh, "Feels weird huh? Just the feeling of your robes on your skin feels different, strange, foreign. The feeling of your wand in your hand, the grooves, the scratches, the polish, and everything in between. Do you understand now why I said only enhance one sense at a time?" I asked the room

"Bloody hell yes!" one of the students said while making the most awkward face ever

I chuckled, "Put your wand in front of you," I instructed, and they all followed, "Now, pick it up again and feel the wand, and then put it down. Repeat the process. Feel the table, slowly and pull back. This might seem foolish but it is helping you get used to the initial experience of a new sense of touch. Just wait until you get to smell," I said earning a few half-hearted laughs

It might seem weird to them now but, when they become used to the new sensations and can cast the spell without worrying about how everything will feel, smell, sound like, and taste like then so many paths open up for them. Only imagination holds one back in wizardry. Who knows, one of these students can find something new with the spell I never thought of before that is the beauty of magic.

As the class progressed I carefully helped the students get used to the sense of touch, sadly for them, it was impossible to get used to it in a single class.

Well, that's why they say practice makes perfect.

tried to explain the spell as perfectly as I could, hopefully it wasn't too confusing.
