Mayhem in the castle

*Narrator pov*

The welcome-back feast was jubilant as always for at least three of the houses, the green and silver house of Slytherin was silent and practically oozed hostility.

The tension could literally be cut with a plastic spork.

Evan Rosier scanned his housemates evenly waiting for something to happen. He didn't touch his food he didn't talk no he kept his wand in hand and stayed silent.

Some of the older Slytherins were whispering amongst themselves while eyeing the younger boy, they were some of the same students who were bothering Evan and Severus last semester about joining the new dark lord.

The tension was obviously seen by the professors. Albus's twinkle seemed to vanish from his eyes looking at the scene, "Be extra careful Horace," he said to the head of Slytherin

Horace nodded, "Of course, I wouldn't want something to happen,"

Morpheus listened to their conversation a smirk playing on his lips, 'Horace doesn't seem too concerned' he mused silently

Albus then addressed them as a whole, "Of course, it goes without saying but be extra attentive during your rounds, I have a feeling this semester will start off rather poor,"

Morpheus eyed the young paranoid Slytherin as he spoke, "Abara, Yowie what do you say I help out at the next dueling club meeting?"

Abara peered at his colleague, "Of course you're welcome what has brought this on?"

Morpheus shrugged a small laugh escaping his lips, "Nothing much I just have the sudden urge,"

Albus looked at Morpheus from the corner of his eye a bad feeling was beginning to form in the aged wizard's gut.

The rest of the meal went along as most opening feasts do, with students gorging themselves and chatting about their breaks before standing and making their way to their rooms.

The Slytherin table stood slowly everyone calmly making their way from the great hall Horace guiding them.

Evan stood at the front of the pack using Horace as a shield of sorts making sure he wasn't going to be attacked on their journey to the dungeons.

The walk to the dungeons was truly awkward, some students watched with boredom, and others glee awaiting the spectacle that would surely come. When the doors were in sight Horace said the password and walked inside Evan following closely behind.

He didn't waste a second breaking into a full sprint toward his room some students grumbled in anger at the escape, especially the older years.

As night fell and the students began to slumber a meeting was being held in the upper-year Slytherin dorms.

"What are we going to do about Rosier?" One of the students asked

"What the dark lord commanded, he will be dealt with," Lestrange replied with a vicious grin

"How? he is hiding at every chance it won't be easy,"

Lestrange smiled widely, "Do not worry everything will work out in the end, we might not have got him tonight but tomorrow is a different story,"

"After all he has to go to class, doesn't he?"

As the sun peaked over the clouds and the castle was illuminated in the sunbeams the castle residents began to wake from their slumber.

Evan woke up with a start his tired eyes looked around his room frantically he hadn't even realized he had fallen asleep.

Calming himself Evan began focusing on the little Occlumency he was taught over the winter break. His emotions began to subside and calmness washed over him.

Standing from his bed Evan creaked open his door and spotted no one in the hall, casting a quick tempus spell Evan saw it was still early morning.

He quickly snaked out of his room and sped walked toward the great hall he wanted to get there as early as possible.

Alas, Evan forgot one key factor in his plan to stay safe the Slytherins would surely know he was going to try and slip out without anyone seeing.

When Evan rounded a corner he was met with two smirking figures with their wands in hand Evan didn't hesitate he immediately flicked his wand forward, "Bombarda!" he snarled causing the two older Slytherin students' eyes to widen

"Protego!" they both yelled slashing their wands

The two were pushed back by the explosion the corridor walls were curiously still intact but dust spread across blocking everyone's vision.

"HES UP HERE!" Evan heard someone yell from behind him

Evan narrowed his eyes before running forward toward his two earlier attackers, "Afflicto," Evan swished his wand pointing to the right

A loud snapping sound could be heard followed by a scream of pain, "Bastard broke my arm!"

"Afflicto," Evan sidestepped a haphazard cutting curse while sending another bone-breaking curse at the second boy he could feel more people closing in their footsteps getting closer and closer

"Protego," the older Slytherin snarled blocking the curse, "I'm prepared now Rosier," he spat

Evan frowned feeling a heavy sense of urgency he knew whoever was faster would win their battle.

Yaxley sneered quickly flourishing his wand, "perforo!" the perforation curse shot through the air like a bullet but, Evan wasn't alarmed, "Repello!" the curse bounced off the shield and soared backward toward Yaxley

"Bloody he-" The sickening sound of flesh being punctured tore through the air, "AHHH!" Yaxley yelled holding his stomach where a hole was now present

Blood began to pour down his robes onto the cold floor, Evan didn't even hesitate to run off toward the great hall.

"Afflicto!" he heard behind him causing Evan to quickly cut into another corridor

"He needs to go to the infirmary," One of the Slytherins said looking at Yaxley

*Morpheus pov*

Hearing a commotion in the hall I looked up from my breakfast to catch the sight of Evan Rosier rushing through quickly sitting at his table. He looked exhausted more exhausted than a person would from simply running.

I looked over to Pomfrey and Horace, "If I were you two I'd get running I think there has been an incident,"

As I finished my words a Slytherin student bursts into the hall with a frantic look on his face, "Miss Pomfry!" he yelled, "We need help!"

Behind him appeared two other Slytherin students dragging Yaxley while another held his arm in pain.

For an old woman, pomfrey moved fast the hall was in an uproar at the sight, and Albus who now stood had a pained look on his face.

I smiled at the sight it seemed this semester was going to be fun.

"SETTLE DOWN!" Albus enhacning his voice with magic bellowed causing the students already in the great hall to became silent

Pomfrey hurriedly diagnosed the problem and then started to cast healing spells if one were to pay attention they would see the scathing glares the Slytherin students were giving Evan who ate his breakfast in silence a smirk forming on his lips.
