Closing the hotel door then reaching over to turn the lights on, in the middle of the room was a single bed, two nightstands one on both sides of the bed and a end table against the wall across from the bed with a TV and a small fridge. Beside the table was a open bathroom and small closet, leading to a door that had a toilet and a shower. Setting my bag on the bed locking the door before I pull off my jacket and shoes, walking over to the bathroom and turn on the water letting it warm up. When the water was hot enough I got in and scrubbed my body and washed my hair before getting out, wrapped in a towel my hair dripping water droplets as I made my way to my bag and pulled out a pair of clothes, drying my body and hair.
Grabbing a sandwich out of the bag that I got on the way here, eating it then putting the other half back in the bag and setting it in the fridge to keep cool before walking back to the bed, pressing the light switch over the bed that turned off the lights and then laying down under the covers.
"It will just be me and you little one" I said as my hand found it's way to my belly where a child was growing. A smile made it's way to my face, turning onto my side the thoughts of what I've done dawned on me, I left my family without any warning to anyone.
Closing my eye, I force myself to sleep to keep my mind off of it.
The sun peaked through the blinds of the hotel room, a slight chill in the room made my skin crawl. Sitting up my stomach turned, shooting out of bed to the bathroom my knees made connect with the cold floor as I shoved my head over the toilet not wanting to put my face in it. Spending ten minutes in the bathroom puking finally stopped, sitting up I reached and flushed the toilet.
Standing up, I walk over to the sink and brush my teeth them did my business, grabbing another pair of clothes and changed. Grabbing my phone to look up to look at the houses for rent again, finding the one I really liked, a two bedroom one bath. Deciding to call the number on the information panel I put my phone up to my ear as it rung.
"Hi, this is Lola from renter-for-you! How can I help you today!" A cheery voice answered the phone.
(A/N I made up the company name, it isn't a real company that I know)
"Hi Lola, I was looking at the houses for rent on your website and I'm interested in the two bedroom one bath on Pin Street" I said pacing the room.
(A/N again I made up the street)
"Yes, that house just came up in the market, it is perfect for a small starter family, are you interested in coming to see the house today ma'am?" Lola asked.
"That's great, yes I'm interested in seeing it today" I smiled at the thought. "I can set a meeting up for 11 today, may I ask your name so I can verify at the time of the meeting" Lola said. "My name is Maria" I replied.
"Okay Maria, I have a appointment set up for you at 11 today, will that be all for you today?" Lola asked in her cheery voice. Picking up a piece of paper and writing down the time and her name, then dropping the pen on the table "thank you, that will be all" I said then we said our goodbyes.
Looking at the time it was 9am, grabbing my things I will be needing for the appointment, then stuffing them in my bag before putting my key card for my room and slipping on my shoes. Leaving my hotel room, I return my room key, then walk down the street to the diner I saw last night, the bell over the door dung as I opened the door, it wasn't busy but there was a good amount of people here.
"Hi! Welcome to diana's diner! A table for one?" A young man said as he walked out from behind a wall, he smiled as he went to grab a menu "for one, yes" I responded.
"Come this way please" he said waving his hand to tell me to follow him. Following him down a isle, families sat in booths eating breakfast and smiling over their conversations, we stopped at a table meant for two and he sets the menu on the table, thanking him I sit down by the window then look at the menu for drinks "my name is Josh, now what can I get you started off to drink?" He asked pulling out a order pad of his back pocket.
"Um, I'll have a cup of orange juice" I said giving him a gentle smile, he nodded "I'll go and get that for you". Looking back at the menu, I look through the breakfast meals and decide on pancakes and scrambled eggs with a bowl of fruit. A few minutes later Josh returns with my drink "here to you go, are you ready to order or do you need a few minutes?" Josh said.
"I'm ready, I'll get pancakes with scrambled egg and a bowl of fruit please" I shut the menu and pushed it to the end of the table, Josh nodded and wrote down my order then picked up the menu "okay, I'll be back with your food in a bit" Josh said then walked to the kitchen. Looking out the window, I watch the cars drive back and forth on the road, it was calming.
Turning I pick up my cup and sip on the orange juice, gosh I love orange juice. Many would think just because I am a mafia daughter that I would like fancy drinks and party till midnight. No, I rather sit in a library and read books, drink hot chocolate or Starbucks than fancy drinks. The conversations and laughter in the diner made me comfortable, it was nice.
Yes I loved hanging out with my best friend Zoey, but we are total opposites, she likes to party and drink fancy drinks then there's me, a bookworm.
"Here's your food ma'am, let me know if you need anything, enjoy" Josh sets down my food nodding before walking to another table. The smell of the food makes my stomach rumble, it smelt really good. Picking up my silverware and starting to eat, the food made my mouth water. I held back a moan of acceptance like my mouth and stomach accepted what I'm giving.
