CHAPTER -10
Seth giggled and the voom sound came again
Sapphire clinged more tightly unto him and he can feel their skin contact as she buried her face in the crook of his neck
"Guess we're really in a ghost arcade" he said, holding her to himself
"Take me out of here..... Now please" she said slowly and he can feel the fear in her voice and her body shaking against his
He started walking down the lane slowly and she never for once looked up
"Do you even eat?, You're so lightweighted, same with when I carried you the other time" he said
" Just get out of here" she whispered again
Seth smiled and continued the walk out of the arcade
It's totally silent and dark, thanks to Seth's phone Torchlight, the voom sound kept coming every minute and the fact that Seth doesn't give a damn about the sound helps
He left the arcade some minutes later and he stopped under a tree that has a long chair
"We're out of there, you can come down now" he said
" Are you sure? " She said slowly
" Trust me" he replied and Sapphire slowly looked up, when she saw they're in a different environment, she quickly came down from his arms, feeling so embarrassed
Seth sat on the chair, releasing an heavy breath afterwards
"So the great Sapp has a weakness" he said, looking at her
She slowly sat beside him and avoided his gaze
"I've been like that since I lost my dad" she said
" You only have a mother?" Seth said
"Yes, dad passed away some years ago and after his death, I started hearing strange voices in my sleep and anytime I'm alone, it always feels like I'm seeing things which were'nt even real, mum said maybe it's because there are many of dad's memories in the house, we had to move out of our former house to a new one and that was when it all stopped but that doesn't stop my fear of ghosts, I can't watch ghost movies and horror movies entirely" she said, resting her elbows on her laps while looking ahead
"Mine is similar" Seth said
"So...you don't have a dad too?" She asked
" Yes, I lost him some years ago too but after his death, I didn't grow fear for ghosts, I grew fear for something else" he said, smiling sadly
" Something else?"
"My mum" he replied
"Is that even making sense?, How can you grow fear for your mum" she said
" She's like a blood sucking witch, you'll understand if you know who I'm talking about, I look fearless but my wall of fearlessness collapses at the sight of her" he said
" Is she.... really a witch?" Sapphire asked slowly and Seth looked at her
" I call her a witch cos she behaves like one" he said
" Oh"
" But you....I guess your mum will be the best thing that ever happened to you" he said
" Of course, mum is my role model, I wanna be like her, considerate and understanding" she smiled
" So Josephine Langford isn't your role model anymore" he said
"Why did you rush out of the class the other time when she came and why did she follow you?" She asked and Seth stood,
" Ion wanna talk about it, let's go back" he said and she stood, walking beside him as they left the place
"There's a mountain if we walk down the slope" he said
"I wish I can see it" she replied
" Maybe some other time" he replied
They got to the road and his bike is not there anymore
"Must have been taken away by the RMA" he said
"RMA?"
"Are you really smart?, I mean road maintenance agencies" he said and she smirked
He smiled and they continued trekking back to the hostel
"I'll just get another one" he said
"Are there really cops in the frat house earlier?" She asked
"Who knows?, Sometimes there are , sometimes the guys play the trick and everyone will run, but no one knows when it's real or fake so anytime it happens, the best option is to run" he replied and looked at her legs
She threw one of her sneakers to the idiots the other time so one of her foot is bare
"The ground must be so cold, you're walking barefoot" he said
" Oh....I'm ok, I don't catch a cold easily" she replied

"Should I just carry you like the other time?, You're not too heavy anyways" he said, bending in front of her
" Climb on" he said
"Is this a movie right now?" She said
" Are you doing it or not" he replied
"I said I'm ok" she replied
"Suit yourself" he said and was about to stand when she suddenly climbed on
"Screw you" he said, standing up and adjusting her on his back
"F*ck you" she replied, poking the back of his neck as he walked
"Hey stop doing that or I'mma throw you down" he said and she giggled before stopping
After ten more minutes of walking, they got to the hostel and he dropped her gently
"Thanks for the ride" she said
"You're not welcome" he replied with a jerky smile
" Goblin" she said
" Hey stop calling me that" he replied but she rolled eyes at him and walked in
Getting to her room, she met Nadia in pains on her bed, she's rolling from one side to another
"Hey babe what's wrong" she asked with concern, rushing to her
" My tummy..my tummy hurts" she said painfully
"Why?, ...why would...wait?, You're on?" Sapphire said
" Yes, I have menstrual cramps monthly" she replied
"Jeez!, I hate that monster, lie on your back first" Sapphire said and she obeyed
She raised her nightie from her tummy and started massaging her tummy around her belly button
"You'll be fine" she said as she did that gently
"Ouch!' Nadia winced
" Sorry baby, you'll be ok" she said, taking it slow
"It's getting better" Nadia said slowly, closing her eyes
" Sleep sleep....the night is here..
" Baby sleep.... momma is here to protect you
"No harm will dare come
" Sleep like a baby that you are..
Nadia smiled after Sapphire finished singing the lullaby
"I know my voice sucks, manage it that way" she said
" No it's actually nice, please sing it again" Nadia replied and Sapphire cleared her throat before starting the song again
At the fifth trial, Nadia slept off
Sapphire covered her well before kissing her cheek then she went to her bed and changed into shorts and singlet before climbing it
She lay flat on it, thinking about two hours ago....spent with Seth
She smiled when she remembered the ghost part and changed position
There's no doubt he's cool but,,
"But why will he hate his mum to the extent of naming her a witch?, He's even scared of her?" She wondered.

Seth's room
After taking a shower, he sat on his reading table and decided to read a novel before sleeping
He'd barely be able to sleep if he doesn't shower before going to bed and that's why he takes bedtime shower very serious
He read ten chapters of the novel and dropped it when he started feeling sleepy, he touched his necklace and smiled then climbed the bed to sleep
Closing his eyes, the first thing that came to his head was the ghost drama with Sapphire earlier
He smiled widely and licked his bottom lip as usual
"It's weird that a badass has such a weakness" he thought
" And she's lucky ,....to have a good mum.... having a witch as my mum is what I don't want to experience in my next life" he sighed, drifting off to sleep

Rowen's room
"Is she ok?, I didn't even get to see her after the whole cops stuff" Rowen worried loudly, unable to sleep
" She might have left with Seth, who knows" Hardin laughed from his bed,
" That's Impossible" Rowen replied
"Says who?, Who knew it'll be possible the other time when he left with her after she puked on you?, chill boss" Hardin said
" Hardin this might sound weird but I feel so different....I dunno but...I just don't know" he said, sitting up on his bed
" I know what your problem is, but chill, if she's for you, then you'll have her, what's for you Is for you seriously" Hardin said, wearing his earphones
" Wanna watch porn again?" Rowen said
"Sure, you interested?" Hardin said
"No" Rowen replied and lay back on his bed

Next morning
"Can't believe today is Saturday, freedom!" Nadia screamed as she got up from the bed
"I'm just thankful that we aren't going to class today, what should we do all day?" Sapphire asked, swallowing her pill with water
"Let's play games, watch movies, . ....
" Ok I get that, I'll take my bath first" Sapphire replied and dashed into the bathroom
She came back clean an hour later with her towel wrapped on her chest
"Were you sleeping in there?" Nadia said
"Sorry baby, I just took my time today since all my baths has always been in a rush....by the way...your tummy doesn't hurt anymore right?" She asked
" Of course, thanks for the massage and lullaby I love you!" Nadia replied, blowing her kisses as she entered the bathroom too
She used more than an hour before coming out and Sapphire glared at her, she giggled as she dressed up

"Saturdays are always boring to me, no class" Rowen said, walking the long corridor with his gang
" Did that just come from Rowen?, Weird things are happening these days" Blaine said
" The Rowen I know will be the happiest if schools are to be cancelled" Clark said
" You both should know his problem right now" Hardin said
"Oh!, We get" Blaine laughed when he saw Rowen looking at Sapphire's door
" Is she planning to stay indoors all day?' he wondered
"Cat eyes?" Hardin teased
"Well yes, I just want to see her" he replied
"Now this is more than I thought" Blaine said
" Rowen you're crazy" Clark said
"I admit, I don't even know how I feel these days" he sighed, still looking at her door
" When last did you f*ck" Hardin said
" Maybe five days ago when I broke up with Hazel" he replied
" WTF!" Clark and Blaine screamed
" When you were still Rowen, if you don't use your dick for one day, you'll be restless" Hardin said
" So now I'm what?" Rowen said
"I dunno what to call it" Hardin replied and Rowen left them, he started walking towards her door
"It isn't too early to watch movies right?" Clark said
"Sure" Blaine giggled when Rowen got to her door and knocked
Sapphire opened the door and sighed
"Morning" she said
"Same here" he replied and went silent
" So???" Sapphire asked
"Let's go on a date" he said
"It's still too early in the morning Rowen" she replied and made to shut the door but he held it
" Please" he said seriously
*Why?, Just give me one reason why I should go on a date with you" she said
" I dunno, I just want to spend time with you that's all" he replied slowly, touching his hair
" Why do you want to spend time with me" she said
"Stop making this hard, ok....for an hour... just one hour, go on a one hour date with me and I'll stop disturbing you" he said
" One hour" she said
" Yes one hour.... please" he said
"Ok!, 7pm to 8pm, let's see what you've got" she replied and his face brightened up
" Yes!, You'll meet me in front of the hostel right?" He said
"Ok" she replied and closed the door
She went back in and fell on her bed
"You'll really go with him?" Nadia asked
"What can I do?, It's obvious that even if I kick his balls and send them flying out of his trousers, he'll still keep pestering me and I won't like that so it's better to go on the one hour date and be free" she replied
" It's really better" Nadia said awkwardly
" Wait....your mood" Sapphire said
" I'm ok, let's continue with the movie" she said and Sapphire went to her bed, sat beside her and plugged the second earpiece in her ear
They're actually watching "life in a year"

Night**
"Are you going on a date like that?" Nadia asked when Sapphire put on her sneakers
She's wearing crazy jean trousers on a big white t-shirt then she wore cap
"Sure , not like I'm going on a date with my boyfriend anyways" she replied
*Whatever" Nadia said
"Take care, don't miss me too much!, I'll be back within an hour" she replied and left the room, bouncing on her sneakers till she got out of the hostel, almost bumping into Seth
"Hey you love bumping into me so much right" he said with a cute smile
" I'm sorry.... Watssup by the way" she said
"Always good.... going somewhere?" He asked
" I've been waiting" Rowen said, coming to meet them
Sapphire checked the time... exactly 7:30
"Gosh!, I wasted a lot of time watching movies" she said
"Can we go now?' Rowen asked
"See ya around!" Sapphire waved to Seth and left with Rowen
Seth watched as she got in his car and they drove off
He let out a deep breath before going in

Cinema
Sapphire looked at the cinema and looked back at Rowen who's waiting for what she'll say
"Are we really gonna enter the cinema?' she asked
" Of course, I plan to watch a movie with you" he replied
" But I....
"What?" He asked
She wanted to say she hates going to the cinema cos horror might just pop up anytime but she decided to keep calm
"If this pervert knows that I'm scared of horror movies, he might decide to taunt me with that, no" she thought and faced him
" Let's go in" she smiled and Rowen held her hand
"Hey we're not a couple" she said, trying to break free
" Just for tonight, let me hold your hand" he said and she inhaled
" Not like I can kill you anyways" she said and Rowen smiled, pulling her In, they got their popcorn by the door
They got one of the middle seats and sat anxiously as more people came in
Sapphire ate the popcorn slowly while Rowen just stared at her
She caught him a number of times but said nothing till the movie came on and he shifted his gaze to it
Sapphire stopped eating the popcorn and focused, wanting to detect the type of movie it is
It started with a boy and a girl who are childhood friends and grew up together in same neighborhood but just because the boy's dad is richer, the girl has always been Jealous cos people say hi to the guy anytime they're taking a walk together but she's not even recognized
That made her decide to end him one day when they turned seven, she lured him to a river and pushed him in
His corpse was found three days later though she cried the most at the funeral but deep inside, she's so happy
She grew up to be a successful lady but....
The repercussions of her sins started coming bit by bit...
When she walks in the sun, instead of seeing only her shadow, she sees two shadows instead and the other one is always scary
Sapphire swallowed hard when she sensed where this is going, she held the chair arm very tight and Rowen noticed that
"You don't like the movie?" He asked
"No....I'm..I'm ok" she replied with a fake smile
They concentrated again and by then, the lady is watching a movie on her TV in her house then the TV suddenly went off
She stood and walked to the tv to check but the hand of a rotten ghost suddenly came out of the TV
"No!!!!!!!!" Sapphire screamed, the popcorn poured away and she jumped on the chairs as she ran out of the cinema
Rowen ran after her till she got out, he held her and she faced him, breathing heavily
"I can't watch it anymore, I'm so scared" she said fearfully
Rowen hugged her immediately and she didn't bother to struggle, she stayed still, breathing heavily
"I'm sorry I should have asked for your preference before choosing that" he said
Sapphire stayed still for a while before breaking the hug
"Let's go back" he said and they walked to the car but worse, the car is not responding, it won't move
"What's wrong" he wondered loudly, trying it again but it's still same
He came out of the car and Immediately, something cold landed on his arm, before he could look up, it started raining
"Shit!" He said, getting back in the car
Sapphire kept quiet which seems weird
"Hey" he said and she looked at him
The scene of how the ghost hand came out of the TV kept replaying in her head and each time it does, it freaks the hell out of her.... her heart is beating so fast as a result of fear, it indeed resulted to panic attack
She looked at Rowen and sniffed slowly
"Are you ok?" He asked worriedly
Her head acted like it'll fall off her neck as she went limp
"Sapphire!"
"Sapphire!" Rowen shouted, shaking her but all to no avail
With shaky hands, he brought out his phone and browsed the nearest hospital
Thankfully it's just seven minutes walk from here, he took off his hoodie and covered her head with it then he came out of the car
The rain drenched him as he heaped her on his back and started running to the hospital...in the rain.
