Chapter one
Guardian, guardian you need to wake up. AEON, get up!
"Ugh, Dot what are you yelling about. What's going on?" Were am I, oh yea there was that Vex time gate, and the Hive...
"You need to get up guardian, we have a problem and I need you to get up." Right on the ship, my ship.
Opening up my eyes I see a little round ball hovering over me, wait its Dot my ghost "What happened Dot, I thought we were out of the blast zone?"
"I thought so too" she starts scanning me now, probably to make sure I don't have a concussion "I guess when you mix Hive magic with Vex time control things go wonky. We've been out for awhile, I woke up about an hour ago." She stops with the scans and starts zipping around while she explains to me whats going on.
"I've been running diagnostics on how we are doing and on where we are, and well theirs some good new and some bad news."
"Ok, ok give me the good news first"
"Well, we're alive..." She says this while giving me this look, like she really needs to explain that to me, you know being a guardian and all that.
Rolling my eyes at her "Oh yes, how nice, I guess that is good news... is that all of the good news?"
"Yeaaa... "
"Ok whats the bad news then?" Sitting up looking around the command chair of my ship.
"Well, whatever happened the most I can tell is that the gate pulled us in and when it did the Hive magic did something to the ship." I hear her voice back behind me, she still zipping around... wait "What do you mean something?"
"Most I can tell is that it empowered the ship, its like were juiced up, its hard for me to explain it really." My ship, my pride and joy I spent years fixing it up.
Sure it might not be the most fanciest ship out there but the Pragmat Harrier has kept me going for hundred of years.
Jumping up and looking around at my ship "Well I hope you can do your best to explain it, is it broken, are there parts missing. Oh god i still have my full ship right its not seared in half is it?" Please, I don't want to be stuck in space for who know's how long waiting for back up, and then to ask them to tow my girl back...
She finally comes back from what ever she was doing "What no, no, you would notice right away if it was. No, from what I can see its like your ship is stuck in a quantum field, while using more energy with less consumption."
Turning to look at her "A quantum field? Like we're trapped in time?" Looking around my ship again but this time slowly to catch everything, it looks fine.
"No, like your ship is constant in time, in other words its almost indestructible, because in order to damage it you would need to be on the same quantum field as it,
-Oh...- and the engine and NLS drive are giving out more power with near equal or less consumption of fuel." She starts showing me screens showing what she's saying to me so i can read them myself.
"So the ship will go longer without needing a refill... how nice..." I start to have a little relief knowing my ship is at least ok for now, I'll have to run a more thorough check when we get back to the city. Who knows what the Vex or Hive did to her.
"No, its more then that, well that as well, but the main thing is our NLS drive, it can probably send us interstellar now, we can leave the solar system entirely.
In other words Guardian you have a ship that's the fastest ship for the vanguard and nearly indestructible... the Vex can probably get to it with enough time though."
Turning to look at her now "What? How?" She's just hovering there now, making sure I'm taking this all in.
"I don't know, that's the amazing thing about it. If we can get back to the city Ikora would probably ground you for eons to figure out how it happened." She sounds a tad bit excited now, and I don't really blame her, this could be huge for the vanguard, for humanity as an whole. "...quick send us to earth Dot, humanity needs this." I tell her while I'm still running my own checks on the system to make sure we can make it to earth with no complications.
"Annnddd theres the big one... " She looks away from me, trying to look anywhere but at me really.
Freezing up with a little amount of dread, because when she sounds and acts like that its serious. "What big one?" Grabbing her attention now, showing she has my complete focus.
She just stares at me for a second, letting the noise of my ship take over. "I have no idea where we are."
"...I'm sorry Dot I think I took some head trauma or something, because it sounds like you said you don't know where we are..."
"No you heard correctly -WHAT- I've been scanning the stars for awhile now to try to pinpoint where we are but nothing is matching. Which shouldn't be possible. Even if we were out of our system some stars should still read." She's back to looking away from me again, probably running her scans again to make sure nothing new showed up.
"But there not!?" Whats going on... there's no way we're completely lost in space.
"There is no matching systems from what I'm reading of the charts. Though I haven't opened up frequencies to send out a distress." She hovering around updating screens so I can see what she's talking about.
"Why not?" Double checking the screens, I have to see it for myself.
Turning back to look at me now "because if were out of our solar system I don't know if any of our enemies or even the darkness itself would get to us first." I'm now back into the command chair running everything I can making sure not to send out an signal encase she's right.
After a couple of minutes of scanning and Dot hovering around double checking on her end I don't know were we are, nothing is making since. I take a moment to try to think about our situation. There was the Vex gate, a time gate, who knows were they were trying to go with that, maybe if the Hive affected my ship and only my ship then the gate did more then just put it in an quantum field. We must have gone through time as well. "Dot try to calculate the star charts going a thousand years in the past and a thousand years in the future."
"Give me a moment Aeon, well figure this out."
