The cabin

The thought of being somebody's property made me sick, but here I am, the property of this man called"Alpha."

He could shift to a bear-sized wolf if it weren't for the scabbed-over wounds on my ankle. I would assume I hit my head on the steps when I fainted. But here I am, slung over his shoulder. I could kick and scream, but it would get me nowhere, so I noted where we were going.

As we continued our journey, I noticed that the forest grew thinner; I could hear people chatting off in the distance.

He stopped before the end of the forest. Setting me down gently, he gave me a once-over before walking over to a tree, Picking up a pair of jeans.

I looked away from him for a bit; I never heard him walk back over.

Looking back over to where he was standing, his back was to me; he was stiff as a statue. Walking over to investigate, stepping in front of him, I gasped! His eyes glazed over.

Looking at him in awe His eyes went from their original shade to the whole eye going gray.

I waved my hand in front of his eyes.

"I would appreciate it if you didn't do that."

I nearly yelped!

his eyes returned to their natural shade of purple

"Since you haven't had the chance to bathe or change clothing, I'm going to have someone come tend to your needs. I expect you to act like a respectable lady when we enter the village."

With that, he took my hand and led me into the clearing.

There was nobody around, but I could have sworn I heard voices.

The little town or village had about seven medium-sized log cabins; each had a unique emblem etched into the sides of each house. One caught my attention. It had two arrows making an "X" with a crescent moon between the tips of the arrows. The cabin, in general, was well-kept.

As we made our way through the village, the man led me over to a cabin that was very plain and somewhat rundown looking on the outside. An emblem etched into the side of his place was that of a moon with a paw print.

He watched my unpressed expression before tugging me up the stairs to the front porch.

When the door opened it made a high-pitched grinding, causing me to wince.

"The living room was all but bare. There were a couple of chairs by the window, the walls had no photos, a book shelf that was almost empty sat against the wall close to the window."

"The kitchen was off to the right; it connected the living room. in-between the two rooms was a table that could seat four people; it only had a small candle in the center of it . all together it was cramped and deprived of life unlike my family home.. The thought tugged at my heart. I truly will never want to forget my childhood home. I would see it again even if it kills me".

The alpha watched me for a bit before clearing his throat, causing me to look up at him.

"The bedroom is the last door to the right of the hall. I'll have someone get you cleaned up." when he was finished talking, he left the cabin, leaving me alone to my thoughts. " This place felt like it was closing in on me." I quickly made my way to the designated room; gently turning the knob, it clicked open, revealing a room that had life to it.

"The room in question had a bed that was nearly the size of my old room. The bed had a wood frame beautifully crafted with pretty dark wood. The bed was covered in fur pelts. The dresser had a few candles on it. I walked over to the bed. I pulled myself onto the bed and began to wait."

After a few minutes, an older lady entered the room; she was very short and had a head full of white hair. When I got a better look, I realized she was of Native American descent, unlike the "Alpha guy."

"May I ask your name, child?"

I could have scoffed at the notion that I was a child but being respectful, I answered her question.

"My name is Lilith."

"Well, Lilith, you can call me June. If you would follow me to the bathhouse, I have a fresh set of clothes for you.

With that, she began walking away before I could answer. I quickly started following her; she led me outside the cabin and down a worn path back into the woods. Following June, we came to a little building with a firepit and a well out front for a bit. A couple of women were there heating the water and bringing it inside. A few paused, looking at me knowingly before continuing their work.

I walked into the small building, and there was a tub big enough to bathe in; off to the side was a stool. A few candles were lit, and a vase containing a beautiful bouquet sat atop a shelf with towels. June closed the door behind us. She walked over to the tub, picked up a small bottle, and poured a few drops.

"Lilith would you like some help bathing or would you like to do it yourself " June said.

"I would like to do it myself," I said softly.

Softly June smiled before she pulled out a couple of wool towels and cloth from a shelf. She also pulled a bar of soap from the frame, leaving everything by the tub Before quietly leaving the shack.

Once I was sure she was gone, I peeled the blue nightgown off along with my undergarments, letting my hair out of its ratty braid. I climbed into the tub, allowing the warm water to loosen up my stiff muscles, relaxing for the first time in days.
