Chapter 5. The Mischievous Naughty Child

I Will Eventually Embark on the Path of No Return Called a Hero [Arc2] - 5. The Mischievous Naughty Child

---

"Ah~ how troublesome. I'm probably the only one who would be unlucky enough to summon twice in one Holy Grail War!"

Squatting next to the altar, Sisigou lifted his sunglasses and rubbed his tired eyes.

In order to avoid being done in by the forced contract, Sisigou immediately ran to this graveyard to set up a magical workshop upon arriving in the city. Then, he hurriedly used painful-to-obtain materials to build this altar, only to fail…

At the optimal time, using the designated holy relic, in this place most closely associated with death, as the summoner, he was still a necromancer.

It should have been possible to summon a specialized Hades blessing's Cyd, but nothing happened. The connection was never established, and the optimal time was missed…

According to the contract, if the summoning fails, the slab must be immediately sent back. Apparently, there is an organization that intends to use the slab for summoning long-term, but that's not important!

The contract was immediate! It didn't allow him a single second of delay. So, he had to search the streets for a contact from the Mage's Association all night like a lunatic. He only returned to the graveyard around noon and collapsed into bed, only to have to summon again now…

"Please," Sisigou placed the shattered pieces of the Round Table Knight's table into the altar and began chanting.

Honestly, this was his first time participating in the Holy Grail War. Yesterday was also his first time summoning a Servant. Failing on the first try was quite disheartening. Theoretically, the designated holy relic should definitely summon a Servant, except if the Servant doesn't want to acknowledge you…

Ah~ is there any Round Table Knight who would be willing to team up with a necromancer like me?

Probably not…

While he was musing gloomily, a sharp pain brought him back to his senses as his mana surged wildly towards the altar.

"Success!" The unexpected smoothness made Sisigou want to cheer. Moreover, judging by the mana consumption that gave him a headache, this Servant must be extraordinary!

"You are…" A massive sword slammed heavily into the ground as a knight wearing a horned helmet appeared in front of Sisigou. "My Master?"

"Yes," Sisigou extended his hand and put on a smile he considered friendly.

"Your creepy smile fits quite well with this graveyard," Saber ignored Sisigou's hand and began examining the surroundings. "It's really an uncomfortable place."

"Sorry about that. For me, this is the best base," Sisigou scratched his head.

"Ah~ a necromancer, huh? Really troublesome Master," Saber nodded and started disassembling and removing the horned helmet from her head. "But considering the carefully prepared altar, I'll forgive you."

"Yes," although surprised that Saber was a girl, Sisigou preferred to hide the fact that the altar used to summon her was second-hand.

"What? Acting so perfunctorily," Saber was somewhat dissatisfied and poked Sisigou in the kidney with her dangerously looking large sword.

"Hey! That's super dangerous!" Sisigou jumped away as if his fur was on fire.

"What? Even if it hit, it would only be a minor wound," Saber pouted. "You really are spineless."

Sisigou was at a loss for words. "God knows if your Noble Phantasm has some bizarre effects."

"Huh? How could there be anything bizarre about my Noble Phantasm? Wait… My Master, you don't even know who I am, do you?" Saber widened her eyes in shock.

"Well, I didn't read your status when you appeared," Sisigou scratched his face.

"Wasn't the holy relic specifically used to summon me?" Saber looked stunned.

"Uh… I acCydentally summoned you…" Sisigou felt a bit awkward.

"What?…" Saber looked disappointed. "What did you use to summon me?"

"He used the dining table you used in the past," a third voice sounded in the graveyard. Sisigou instinctively pulled out a shotgun, while Saber's helmet was put back on.

"Don't be so nervous…"

A figure carrying a box slowly appeared before them.

"I am…"

"Die!!!" Saber shouted and leaped, spinning around to strike the white-haired figure with her sword.

"Clang----"

Cyd grabbed the large sword in Saber's hand with his right hand and tapped her helmet with his left hand.

"I'm not your enemy. I am…"

"This guy is a Servant! And a remarkable one!" Saber released her sword and kicked Cyd in the stomach.

"I've already said I am!"

"Bang bang bang----"

Dozens of skeletal fingers shot towards Cyd's head, barely missing Saber's helmet.

"I am Ruler!!!" Cyd's cape fluttered, and scattered scales transformed into dragon claws that grabbed Saber's feet, causing the skeletal fingers to be knocked away by the floating scales.

"You!" Saber gritted her teeth, red lightning starting to appear around her.

"Wait Saber, this guy is Ruler. We can't attack him!" Sisigou shouted.

"Huh?" Saber looked confused, then removed her helmet and shot a fierce glare at Cyd with an expression that was definitely not ladylike. "Why didn't you say so earlier!"

"Ah, sorry Ruler! Saber just summoned and thought you were an enemy," Sisigou shouted, covering Saber's mouth with his right hand and hugging her with his left, then quickly retreated.

"Ugh ugh ugh!" Saber waved her fists and kicked her legs in dissatisfaction, but with her height completely suppressed by Sisigou, she could only fuss in mid-air, resembling a misbehaving child being carried away by a parent.

"Ah~ I don't mind, but you better not treat her like that," Cyd glanced at Saber's large sword and casually remarked.

"Rooar!" Saber opened her mouth wide, revealing sharp tiger teeth.

"Ow ow ow! That hurts!"

Sisigou knelt on the ground, holding his hand. For a moment, he had thought he was bitten by a lion.

This is a naughty child who not only bites but also bites extremely hard!

"Peh," Saber spat out blood and crossed her arms. "Remember, next time I'll bite your hand off!"

"Don't doubt it. Her strength is B+, if she hadn't held back, your hand would already be gone," Cyd threw Saber's sword back to her.

"Ugh… injured before the fight even started, this is really bad," Sisigou looked at the deep but not very large bite marks on his hand.

"This will definitely leave a scar, and it won't go away…"
