Chapter 6. I'm Just a Little Hero Who's Been Active for a Few Years

I Will Eventually Embark on the Path of No Return Called a Hero [Arc2] - 6. I'm Just a Little Hero Who's Been Active for a Few Years

---

KFC, a globally renowned brand, was visited today by a peculiar group of customers.

"Hey, you don't need to be so nervous. I'm not a bad person," Sisigou, the only wealthy one, was forced to be the one to pay. However, he found himself in a bit of a predicament.

"Wh-what would you like, sir?" The cute employee, with tears in her eyes, looked so pitiful it seemed like she was negotiating with a vicious kidnapper rather than taking an order.

Again, this…

Sisigou covered his face instinctively, reminded of the miserable history where he had to evade questions from three or four police officers at the Clock Tower, relying on subtle hints to get by. If he could, he would quickly hint for an escape.

But thinking about the demands of his capricious Servant, Sisigou steeled himself and reached into his pocket to retrieve his wallet. "Please give me..."

"I'm sorry! I'll give you the money right away! Please don't pull out a gun!" The employee immediately took out her wallet.

"Pfft…"

The two great heroes who weren't helping but merely watching the show laughed heartily. Oh right, only one was a great hero, the other was a troublemaker, the legendary rebellious knight, Mordred.

"So lame," Saber, in a jacket and hot pants, laughed while holding her stomach.

"Please give me these, these, and these," Sisigou, with a black line on his face, pointed at a bunch of items, then handed the money to the employee.

The employee took the money with a look of receiving a royal decree and fled to the kitchen like she was running for her life.

Humans… Don't always judge people by their appearance!

Although I'm a mercenary and a necromancer, usually dealing with things on the battlefield and collecting corpses, and even sleeping in graveyards, I'm definitely not a weirdo!

Sisigou, carrying a huge pile of burgers, chicken legs, and wings, tiredly placed them in front of Cyd and Mordred.

"Thanks for your hard work," Cyd patted Sisigou on the shoulder.

"Ugh ugh ugh..."

"Ah~ so tired," Sisigou sighed deeply, picked up a fried chicken leg, then put it down. "Eating so much early in the morning is no good."

"I think so too," Cyd took a sip of soy milk.

"It's fine, a Servant's body won't have problems with food," Mordred gave a thumbs-up.

"One could say there's no need to eat at all," Cyd shrugged.

"Saber, could you tell me the point of eating so much?" Sisigou pointed at the amount sufficient to feed several adults.

"A king shouldn't go into battle on an empty stomach," Mordred logically continued unwrapping her burger.

"Ugh, such a big expense on the first day, I won't have to eat grass roots next, will I?" Sisigou glanced at his shrunken wallet with some pain. "I hope the grass in the graveyard tastes like chicken."

Mordred froze for a moment, then shouted somewhat guiltily, "I get it now! I will win!"

"Next, you're going to the church, right?" Cyd glanced at a strange mother and daughter nearby and asked casually.

Assassin of the Black faction? Interesting…

"Yeah, although I'm not familiar with them, I should at least understand the situation of the 'allies'," Sisigou smiled. "But I might not get along with them very well. In the end, I might have to act alone, but I still need to participate in team battles and learn about the Black faction's situation."

"Anyway, after defeating the seven on the other side, we'll deal with the six here. It's no different," Mordred stuck out her tongue. "Ruler, why are you tagging along with us?"

"Well, since your companions attacked me yesterday, although it was quite enjoyable, I should still inquire about your intentions," Cyd shrugged.

"I'm not with them," Sisigou immediately straightened up.

Are these people really specialized users hired by the Clock Tower? They actually made their Servants attack Ruler! Shouldn't this be the time to bribe them?

"It's fine. I'm just asking," Cyd waved his hand. "I'll also visit the Black faction later, since they are the ones who initiated the Holy Grail War."

"Seriously, attacking Ruler right from the start, what are they thinking?" Sisigou scratched his head in frustration.

"I'm done eating!" Mordred patted her stomach with a satisfied smile.

"Then I'll head out," Cyd stood up, carrying the conspicuous black box on his back. Thanks to his modern clothes created with magic, passersby only gave him curious glances.

"By the way… Ruler, what's your real name?" Mordred, feeling bored on the way, patted Cyd's shoulder.

"Hey! You can't just ask someone's real name in the Holy Grail War," Sisigou said, feeling a headache coming on.

"It's fine. Anyway, I'm just a little hero who's been active for a few years. It's no big deal if my real name is exposed," Cyd waved his hand.

"Oh~ little brother, I think you're pretty likable. Next time, I'll help you drive away those Servants trying to deal with you," Mordred, quite straightforwardly, threw her arm over Cyd's shoulder, looking like a big sister protecting a little brother.

[You're underestimated~]

You're still alive.

Cyd rolled his eyes.

[I am still alive and well. I don't dare to speak because the few I've met recently are monsters! I don't even dare to breathe!]

The gods she met were all intimidating, like the King of the Gods Zeus and the former gods, Chronos. The Greek gods in particular made her feel like if they found out she was hiding in Cyd, they'd find every possible way to get rid of her, oh, it would be as easy as brushing dust off jewelry.

Then just keep holding your breath.

Cyd didn't hesitate and directly blocked her out.

"Saber, at least show some respect for Ruler," Sisigou said with a black line on his face. Even if someone has only been active for a few years, it doesn't mean they're weak. There are those who have been active for years but are still terrifyingly strong, just like…

Sisigou's eyes narrowed sharply.

Normally, he might not immediately connect the dots, but after recently researching, he made a subconscious comparison.

Snow-like hair and skin, active for a few years, with a dragon-claw-like gauntlet on the right arm and a white jade bracer on the left wrist adorned with thirteen dazzling crystals… And now, the more he looked at Cyd, the more he felt he resembled the youth on the slab.

"You're kidding…," Sisigou's mouth dropped open.

"Huh? Master, why do you look like you've seen a ghost?" Mordred blinked.

"Snap---"

Sisigou quickly pulled out his phone and took a picture of Cyd, then said seriously, "I'd better go see the priest now."
