Chapter 34. Here I Come!

I Will Eventually Embark on the Path of No Return Called a Hero [Arc2] - 34. Here I Come!

---

Today, Frankenstein was somewhat confused.

The orders given to her by that pale but frightening man were to wreak havoc on the battlefield. Essentially, destroy whatever could be destroyed, and if something couldn't be destroyed, find the white-haired swordsman and let him handle it.

However, according to her Master, Caules, the red side's heroic spirits were severely depleted, and there was basically nothing she couldn't destroy. So Frankenstein continued to smash dragon tooth soldiers with [Bridal Chest]. With the special nature of her Noble Phantasm, she grew stronger the more she fought, until…

"Hmm?"

A suspicious figure flashed through the dragon tooth soldiers and dashed into the forest.

Frankenstein tilted her head.

The figure didn't look like an ordinary person based on speed alone, but it was neither the Saber who had nearly destroyed her before nor the Archer who had almost captured her. Caster would be too agile, and Assassin seemed a bit too casual.

Hmm, never mind…

Frankenstein continued to dismantle the dragon bone soldiers, having no intention of approaching the forest.

After a while, the figure returned, circled around the dragon bone soldiers, and dashed into the forest again.

"Hmm?" Frankenstein tilted her head.

Never mind, continue destroying. Ah, almost finished…

Just as Frankenstein was about to move on to another area, the figure returned again. This time, Frankenstein clearly saw the figure's appearance: a white-haired, dark-skinned priest with a smile that troubled her.

But he was human.

"Ugh… ugh…" Frankenstein symbolically roared at the priest and then prepared to move to another location with Bridal Chest.

"Frankenstein, a tragic monster born from humanity's pursuit of ideals, you were supposed to be a turning point, but the world has rejected you," Shirou Kotomine said softly.

Frankenstein stopped and growled warily.

Why would this human know her true name?

Even Caules, her Master who held her relic, was shocked upon seeing her. It seemed that only someone from her own era who knew her father should know her true identity, but why?

"Would you like to join us on the red side?" Shirou Kotomine scratched his face. "We're a bit short on manpower. By the way, my name is Shirou Kotomine."

"Hmm!" Frankenstein growled and threw a piece of dragon tooth soldier's bone at Shirou Kotomine.

"Failed…?" Shirou Kotomine sighed as the bone hit his forehead, then turned and ran towards the forest.

"Hmm!"

Beasts have an instinctive desire to chase down prey that flees from them. Although Frankenstein was not a beast, her madness made her reasoning less rational. Now that she was sure Shirou Kotomine was an enemy, and he was fleeing, she would pursue him!

Frankenstein did not hesitate and chased after him with Bridal Chest.

Finally, she was hooked…

Shirou Kotomine sighed in relief.

To make up for the lack of manpower, it seemed he had no option but to target Frankenstein on the battlefield. However, the awkward part was that he couldn't win against other heroic spirits.

But unexpectedly, Frankenstein had not been lured over initially, and the second attempt also failed, causing Shakespeare, who was watching from the side, to laugh for a while. However, in the end, he succeeded, although there was a possibility of exposure.

"Ah~ As the saying goes, third time's the charm. Master, you finally succeeded," Shakespeare, dressed in formal attire, emerged holding a book with an exaggerated pose as Frankenstein stepped into the forest.

"Hmm!" Frankenstein stopped and looked warily at the newly appeared heroic spirit. But…

So weak!

The magical energy was barely noticeable, and there was no sign of any martial training. He exuded an unreliable aura.

"Ah~ Even through your hair, I can still detect that glaring gaze, but I must clarify one thing," Shakespeare patted his chest with pride. "I am a scholar, with no combat abilities, and I don't intend to fight you."

"If possible, I really hope Caster you could help a little," Shirou Kotomine forced a smile.

"I already gave you a sword~"

"Then I'll gladly accept your help," Shirou Kotomine said with a hearty laugh as he drew a long sword.

"Hmm… ugh ugh!" Frankenstein roared as she charged at Shirou Kotomine, her war hammer aimed straight at his head.

"A simple attack, as expected of Berserker," Shakespeare quickly took a few steps back and shrugged.

"This is no simple attack," Shirou Kotomine said with a bitter smile as he leaped back, sending several black keys flying towards Frankenstein's head.

"Boom—"

The moment the hammer hit the ground, it stirred up a strong wind. The black keys in mid-air were forcibly redirected, skimming Frankenstein and pinning her to the ground. Shakespeare, who was watching, was tragically knocked down by flying debris.

"I said it wasn't a simple attack," Shirou Kotomine held his sword in his right hand, with three black keys held between his left fingers.

"This is what happens when brute force defeats skill. I've learned that," Shakespeare, now a spirit, looked disdainfully at Frankenstein.

"This is the reaction of a fragile human," Shirou Kotomine shook his head as he approached the immobile Frankenstein, slowly raising his sword. "Sorry, all I can do is end your tragedy, but I vow that after this Holy Grail War, there will be no more tragedies named [Frankenstein]."

"Berserker!" Caules stood up.

It was too late!

"I heard you!"

Shirou Kotomine's eyes narrowed as he swiftly retracted his sword and flipped backwards. The next moment, a massive object slammed down in front of Frankenstein, smashing Frankenstein in the midst of the smoke.

"I heard you!"

"The cries of the oppressed!"

"Ah~ The most troublesome thing has arrived," Shakespeare shrugged. "As expected of life, it's full of surprises."

"I heard you!"

"The laughter of the oppressors!"

The smoke cleared as a huge figure blocked Frankenstein, who was looking down.

"So, here I come!"

Spartacus, smiling, aimed his sword at the grimacing Shirou Kotomine.

"To crush you to pieces!"
